Thanks Clash.
So, ideally, I should fill up with Speed Foods if I want to boost weight loss?
Also, can syns be 'banked' and used later in the week, if I know that an event is likely to take me over my allowance that day?

ClashCityRocker · 13/02/2017 07:20

Yup, fill up with speed foods where possible.

I think the jury's out on 'banking' Syns. Personally, I think it's finding what works for you - but yes, if I'm going to have a meal out or something I will make sure I have some lower syn days to balance it out.

I think they recommend you have at least five in a day though.

BasinHaircut · 13/02/2017 07:32

fizzy my consultant works on the basis that she has 105 syns a week and just counts down to zero as she uses them, so isn't strict at 15 a day but does spread them through the week IYSWIM.

I tried to save 5 per day last week to compensate for a takeaway on Saturday but I find that I need syns to get through each day. Not necessarily for chocolate or wine etc, but to add things to meals such as butter or cheese etc.

Groovee · 13/02/2017 08:02

Survived the cinema despite the chocolate being passed down the row.

Trying nacho style feast for tea. Need to get more spray for the wedges though.

OneOfTheGrundys · 13/02/2017 08:20

Nacho feast sounds lush!

I'm on soup, salad, toast (hexb) for lunch

Curry for tea.
HexA will be lots of milk as we're going shopping and coffee will defo be involved. Worried about dodging the pastries too... It's my first week and I don't feel like I've lost a thing, despite working really hard. Maybe the scales will tell a different story on weds...

TheImprobableGirl · 13/02/2017 09:22

Weigh ins at 5pm eeeek- time for no food eating to commence. Would laxatives be too far BlushGrin

FizzySmile · 13/02/2017 09:32

Thanks Clash & Basin, these tips are great!

I like the idea of viewing syns as a weekly total of 105 and counting down. That may be a strategy that succeeds for me, I'm willing to try any approach. As you say, it's finding the best method that works for my life.

Fingers crossed my first weigh-in on Saturday yields results, an early boost would be brilliant! Nervous Confused

OwlinaTree · 13/02/2017 09:41

Bit low on speed foods here as it's shopping day. Had an omelette with two very small mushrooms for breakfast. There is one solitary beetroot I can have with lunch, that's the closest I'm getting to salad! There are a few apples left though so I can have those.

Weigh in tomorrow for me. Having some friends visiting also, so planning a cafe visit. Will have to have a small breakfast!

LavenderRains · 13/02/2017 11:15

Good luck those weighing in today.
I'm off to ikea today so will have lunch there....salad or meatballs?😕
Had beans on toast for breakfast to keep me going for the day. Got some raspberries and cherries for later

Shamoffour · 13/02/2017 12:22

Hello it's me in disguise (the one with a casserole named after herWink)
I've spectacularly fell of the wagon last week but I'm back on again. Got a really tricky week as I'm off to Peppa pig world on Wednesday and Thursday and out for dinner of Tuesday. I will try my best.
Ive decided to go it alone for a bit as I dread the group, im going to see how it goes I can always rejoin if it doesn't work.

B-coffee
L-bacon, mushroom,asparagus and tomato omelette
D-spicy prawn pho soup

I've not made the some for ages but it's really good and I feel like I need something spicy and tasty today.

Shamoffour · 13/02/2017 12:23

God I can't believe I forgot to add

EM PEE ON A STICK!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so broody at the moment I get ridiculously over invested in other peoples (possible) pregnancies!

ALemonyPea · 13/02/2017 13:12

Oh I was wondering where you wereM thought we'd lost you. Glad to see you're still around. I'd love to go to Peppa Pig world, my dc are too old now for it.

I have raging cramp today, bittersweet as it'll be my last ever cramp, maybe I should be enjoying it Hmm

I'll probably not have a loss tomorrow as I feel all bloated and bleurgh

emwithme · 13/02/2017 13:13

Not POAS-ing until Wednesday morning. It's my birthday tomorrow, I'm getting drunk.

Am wearing nice knickers today so will come on anyway so it's all a moot point.

(I would very much like to be upduffed though)

LavenderRains · 13/02/2017 14:29

I live right near Peppa Pig World it's hell in the holidays I've not actually been in there for years as the kids are adults now but we used to love it. The Peppa pig bit wasn't even there when we used to go! Enjoy it whoever is visiting 🐷

OneOfTheGrundys · 13/02/2017 15:19

Yes good luck all with the weigh ins!!

And em I don't know you but like others, no more babies here so I too get very excited about others! Even if it's a stranger!

The dogs curled up on my lap now and she has the opposite problem to me-we have to get her to put on weight as she's often too thin... Nasty owners before us massively bred from her and she raced illegally before being dumped in a shed with broken legs poor babe.

Shamoffour · 13/02/2017 15:27

ooh lav when are the kids off near you?
I was hoping it wasn't this week?
I'm sure it will be mobbed still. We have been before when we had two dc and they loved it. I'm not looking forward to the long drive (we live just outside Manchester) with 4dc!!!

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 13/02/2017 15:50

I think I'm in the same county as Lavender (re Peppa Pig Land) and we're off next week. One of my DCs is at school in the next county though and is off this week, logistical nightmare it is.

Shamoffour · 13/02/2017 16:06

whokn0ws why do they do that?!! It's a nightmare isn't it? I have one at high school and on at the main feeder for the high school and they have completely different Easter holidays! I have someone off for a month, it's ridiculous. Thanks for the info I'm guessing it's going to be mobbed last time we found the peppa bit really busy but paultons park itself was ok.

It feels really good to be back in control of my eating I was actually starting to feel ill after all the crap I've eaten.

Lemony I've been lurking (whilst stuffing my face!!)

Em I totally get that fingers crossed for you. I found out with one of mine on nye just before going to a party, why didn't I wait till the morning to test?! Dp got really drunk because he kept drinking my drinks too so no one would notice. He wasn't complaining though!

emwithme · 13/02/2017 16:17

Well I haven't come on so far today (despite the nice knickers). I am now feeling queasy and my lunch (which was leftovers) tasted shite. This is psychosomatic, right.

(I'm buying tests on the way home. I need to go to the supermarket for a birthday cake for work for tomorrow so I may as well)

Is it normal to be this nervous? I have spent 5/8 of my life (half of my teens, all of my twenties and thirties) actively trying to avoid pregnancy...and now it's the opposite and I'm like "dude, you spent years telling me that one missed pill and I'd be upduffed, why is this such hard work"

loveslipstick · 13/02/2017 16:23

Em it's exactly the same once you are done with your family too, trying to not get pregnant. It's natures cruel fucking joke on us 😡

I have watched some friends try for so long and some fall pregnant whilst taking the pill and rarely even having se*x!

ALemonyPea · 13/02/2017 16:29

Ah Em, I know how it feels, sympathies. Let's hope it's a good sign. I spent years of fertility tests and treatment to get my first two DC. The third one was a big surprise.

I want wait to be weighed tomorrow as I feel like I have this cloud over my head before my op. I need to relax a bit.

sham whoknows is correct. Half term in these parts starts on Monday 20th so this week may be marginally better. One tip that we used to do is go around the park backwards, so do peppa at the end. Have a lovely time, it's a great park. The owners are really lovely, it's a family business and they all really enjoy their work and take pride in what they do which is a rarity these days.
groovee that looks lovely!
Good luck em & *lemony FlowersFlowers

ClashCityRocker · 13/02/2017 17:56

groovee that looks far too tasty. How do you make it?

Echoing good luck for em and lemony

And happy birthday for tomorrow em

Tea is looking like some class of savoury mince with mash and cabbage. Boring but comforting! The Yorkshire puds have been given the old heave ho, as I cannot get the SW ones to work properly.

Lunch was chicken with salad, felt all on track as I actually prepared it at home.

Long day tomorrow so will take overnight oats and leftovers from tonight for lunch...then the traditional valentines steak.

Currently having a mental debate about whether I'm going to drink tomorrow night - we normally have a few together on Valentine's Day and unfortunately my plans for a teetotal weekend went out the window so part of me is thinking just to stick to an on-plan day.

Groovee · 13/02/2017 18:06

It was gorgeous!

I don't drink so can't help you there.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Em.

Dd was due on Valentines Day. She came on Burns Night instead!
