Yes it's really good and a regular of mine Smile

If you want to make it is so easy:
-make up a packet of Ainsley Harriott golden vegetable or Mexican rice (both free)

  • put in a bowl and add a tin of asda chickpea Dahl (free) and 3 eggs
  • mash about a bit then put the mixture into a loaf tin- I use silicone so don't have to line but j guess you'd have to line a tin one
  • bake at 200c for around 20 minutes or until the loaf is firm
  • enjoy warm or cold Smile

I don't put any spices in, one of the ladies in my group puts curry powder in. It can't hurt to try Grin

Evening all, a quick slightly awful question if I may... Sorry in advance! Is anyone else really constipated on SW?! I am a once a day girl and since starting 5wks ago I no longer am! Am increasing my fluid intake, eating stacks of fruit and veg... Only big diff I suppose is that historically I would've had cereal for breakfast and now I don't, I save my HEB for Alpen bars to satisfy my sweet tooth, opting for a scrambled egg or some fruit w yoghurt instead.
I suppose the answer is to go back to cereal and use a couple of syns for a sweet bite in the day if necessary?
I just wanted to know if this was common or just me!! Confused

Thanks and sorry!

PatsysPyjamas · 22/07/2015 21:24

Evening all.

Re constipation, yes I have been. I would usually eat loads more bread (wholemeal) so I think this is why. Not sure what to do? I am eating lots of fruit and veg bit that doesn't seem to help.

Me today:

B: wholemeal roll, lightest philadelphia, marmite, nectarine, coffee with milk

L: salad with salmon, fat free dressing

Snack: apple

D: SW burger, wholemeal roll (8), salad

Now: wine (6), fat free Greek yogurt w honey (1.5)

Total: 15.5

Does anyone else struggle to find food to eat at work? I work in town and although I could bring lunch from home, I rarely manage to. I am pretty much rotating a baked potato with beans from work canteen, Tesco large sushi (3.5 syns) and M&S, where I buy a bowl salad without dressing, cooked meat (either chicken or fish) from deli aisle, and eat with fat free yogurt or dressing.

Does anyone have good tips for low syn high street food? I have most of the main places within easy reach.

LakeFlyPie · 23/07/2015 11:31

AppleSnapple I'm also a bit stubborn in that department in spite of always having a high fibre diet (SW and before).
What's helped me loads is daily intake of linseed or chia seeds (can be used as HEb or synned). Either mixed with FF yog or gulped down with large glass of water. Also making sure I'm well hydrated.
Vigorous exercise helps too, enough to make you breathless, think it's the abdo muscles working to massage gut.

bimandbam · 23/07/2015 12:42

Hi all

Struggling with it at the moment. Kids breaking up and dp being off thrown me off routine. Had a 1lb gain which has gone today but finding it hard.

I am not eating in the day then drinking at night (only a glass or two of wine) then making baaaaadd choices at night.

I really need to do a big shop and some batch cooking I think.

Anyway. New start today. Though I haven't eaten yet as have been too busy. Off to tescos in a bit so going to at least fill the fruit bowl. Bolognaise for tea so that's sorted.

Struggling for lunch ideas too. We are quite often out and about so I either do without or have a jacket and beans.

I am going to find a nice tortilla recipe though and make that at some point and keep in the fridge.

calzone · 23/07/2015 19:42

Eaten loads today.

B.....fruit

L....pasta quiche

D....KFC SW style with stir fry
Fruit & yoghurt

Im just not doing well this week, for a variety of reasons. Been over regularly, so expecting a gain this week. I too struggle with the kids at home, every time I go to the fridge, its been emptied!

Lj8893 · 23/07/2015 19:57

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in! I had my first weigh in today and lost 3lbs GrinGrin

Anyway, I have an annual family picnic get together on Sun, has anyone got any yummy SW recipes suitable for a picnic? Ideally something savoury.

JasperDamerel · 24/07/2015 08:35

Make a big rice salad with chopped peppers, cucumber, tuna, hard-boiled eggs and olives, dressed with balsamic vinegar?

Or roast chicken?

JasperDamerel · 24/07/2015 08:39

Yesterday I had

Breakfast: Bircher muesli with strawberries

Lunch: salad as deceived above (1 syn)
Blueberry liberte yogurt (1 syn)

Snack: Apple and 2 babybels.

Dinner: salmon, noodles, loads of stir-fried veg (3 syns for coconut oil used for stir-fry).
Handful of cherries.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/07/2015 08:44

Yah. Found you calzone

I need recipes - ideas - so this thread is fab - thanks

I'm a basic girl and love pasta so usually end up with spag Bol with tons of veg in it most days

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/07/2015 08:58

Lost 3lbs this week :)

Reading through replies and fab the meal plans. That where I get stuck of not knowing what I fancy

I have tried sw meals from Iceland and think they are ok - the pasta /veggie one nice and dp df Wink ate my meatballs !!!! And said very nice and didn't know it was sw/diet food - sausages ok obv not like the usual ones I have but edible

Breakfasts I get stuck - weekends and day off as often work nights - then have a sw fry - but the days when need a quick one before work what can I have

Sometimes wish I could have 2 b's - cereal for b and bread for lunch

Fruit and yog doesn't really fill me up :(

Someone said about a cous cous for breakie - what's that like?

CiderwithBuda · 24/07/2015 14:53

Hi all. Can I join? Been doing slimming world for about 4 weeks.

Week 1 lost 3.5
Week 2 lost 4
Week 3 was on holiday
Week 4 had gained 4! Enjoyed every one though!
Week 5 lost 3.

Finding it fairly easy. I'm not keen on low fat yoghurts etc so don't tend to have many Muller Lights etc. Am a bit anti artificial sweeteners etc. I had a HiFi bar last night and am really struggling with cravings for sweet stuff now.

Am liking the fact that so much REAL food is free.

Am about to try the chickpea Dahl loaf - need to get to Asda later.

Blondes - you can make porridge with quinoa which is free I think. I'm hoping to try it next week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/07/2015 15:06

Might try overnight oats tonight for Tom breakie but do want to find other things so don't use b

Is Asda the only one that is free for the chick pea loaf?

Sounds well worth going off plan for! How often do you get to have a 17 course tasting menu? And sticky toffee pudding.

PatsysPyjamas · 24/07/2015 21:53

Mmm Cartmel sticky toffee pudding is world famous, isn't it?

It's my weigh in tomorrow and I know I have done badly this week, plus I am going away for a week where it's going to be hard to stick to the plan (staying with family so there will be 11 of us for meals in someone else's house - how do I eat properly without being really annoying?). Feel full of guilt already.

B: apple, banana, yogurt (1 syn)
L: sushi (3.5), mango
D: chilli from Wetherspoons (?? Syns), with rice. Didn't eat the tortilla chips & sour cream it came with. Side salad.
Evening: Lg glass wine (8), 2 medium glasses wine (12)

Fairly disastrous day Sad but I had lots of stress at work.
