Could I just pop in and ask a question about slimming world.
I don't eat meat but do eat fish so would joining SW work as well for me ? Thanks.

FannyFanakapan · 16/07/2015 19:47

lk26, yes, absolutely. DO you also eat eggs/cheese/milk? I think SW is not so good for vegans, but vegetarians and pescetarians should be fine - I eat fish almost every day on SW.

lk26 · 16/07/2015 19:48

Yes eat dairy eggs etc just don't like meat. Need to shift 2 st so will join a class next week.

annielostit · 18/07/2015 13:56

bimandbam · 18/07/2015 16:00

Feeling pretty rubbish today. Got huge tonsils and a sore chesty cough.

Lunch was some chicken soup from m and s with supergrains. Not sure if it is a b choice but it looked pretty healthy. And was all I could face.

Dp is cooking tonight so we are down to a readymade moussaka with veg and potatoes.

Completely off plan today then but feel too shit to particularly care.

PatsysPyjamas · 18/07/2015 19:23

Can I join you ladies? Joined SW three weeks ago. I have lost 4.5lbs, which I wish were a bit higher but at least I have lost something each week. I keep reading about people losing that amount in a week, not three!

So far I am finding it okay and generally easier than other diets I have tried. Can I sk what people think of stock-piling your points? This week I have generally had less than 5 syns per day, so that I can have lots of wine this weekend. Is this a terrible idea?? Please tell me not! TBF, I would usually have a few glasses of wine during the week too, so I have made an improvement on that habit.

Today I have eaten:

Slice wholemeal toast with light philadelphia and marmite, nectarine, coffee with milk

Baked potato, baked beans, salad

Fat free lemon yogurt

Salmon fillet, new potatoes, big salad, low fat dressing and natural yogurt

Wine...

annielostit · 19/07/2015 07:27

Hi patsy, welcome to the club!
Dont compare your losses to others everyone is individual.
At group they say 10 - 15 syns a day and not 'stock pile'.the consultant in the last class I went to said its OK to do this. The not saving info is aimed at younger members who starve all week and binge at the weekend. That's me and I'm 48Grin.
Good luck and just think in about 6 more weeks you'll be a stone down. X

FannyFanakapan · 19/07/2015 07:55

Our consultant says if you want to plan for a night out, you should aim for a maximum 60 syns and then spread the rest out on the other 6 days - so basically take 5 points or so from every day load up your night out.

I am off plan. It was going well until I had a second glass of wine and then a third and whoops out came the pistachios and a slice of chocolate birthday cake...diet out the window. Back on track for the rest of the week.

The thing I struggle with - that "tipping point" - you have something you realise is synful, and then you have that "ah sod it" moment where you throw caution an diet to the wind and eat everything you see - instead of accepting that you have eaten 30 syns on something you maybe shouldn't have eaten, you then end up eating 200000 syns on the rest of the crap.

ohthegoats · 19/07/2015 15:20

I had 62 syns yesterday. Haha! Booze mostly, although chips also featured. I have that sort of night so rarely that I don't really mind no loss this week.

annielostit · 19/07/2015 16:38

Today's food.
B, egg ham & tomato.
L, beef carrots cauli & green beans. New potatoes & sw roast ies.LM sausage.
Fruit salad & thin Arctic roll slice. Finger angel cake.

hstar1995 · 19/07/2015 20:27

Today -

B - porridge (HEXA and HEXB)

Sn- banana, squashies (4 syns)

L - roast beef, Yorkshire puddings (5 syns), roast potatoes, gravy (2 syns)

D - Ham salad with tomato, cucumber and lettuce. Cadbury mello (2 syns)

13 syns overall

PatsysPyjamas · 19/07/2015 21:30

Not a very healthy day for me. Still within 15 syns I think.

Brunch: bacon medallions, eggs, beans, slice of wholemeal toast

Dinner: SW burger, slice of cheese, white bread bun, oven chips, salad.

Snacks: banana, fat free yogurt.

I can see it is useful to write it down as just writing that I see the lack of speed foods.

JasperDamerel · 19/07/2015 21:37

Right. I have 4 stone (yikes!) to lose, and will start tomorrow.

Plan for tomorrow is:
Bircher muesli (oats, apple, raspberries, fat-free yogurt, sunflower/pumpkin seeds) 2 syns

Roast veg, balsamic vinegar, chick peas, olives (1syn)

Roast chicken, carrots, broccoli, potatoes.
Green salad with dressing (2 syns)

Snacks: 2 babybels HexA
Apple or other fruit.

Does that sound about right?

I'll make up a batch of free hummus in case of food emergencies.

JasperDamerel · 20/07/2015 10:23

35g oats is A LOT. I'm not convinced I'll be hungry by lunchtime.

bimandbam · 20/07/2015 11:30

Rubbish day yesterday featuring a macdonalds, a twirl and white bread.

In my defence I have been ill all weekend and needed the calories I think. I rarely have mcds even when I am not dieting.

Today will be
b. Banana
l. One of the b choice soups
t. Liver, onions, mashed swede and carrot and veg with onion gravy. I might also havr a sausage depending on how many syns.

Syns. Might be wine. Probably.

annielostit · 20/07/2015 13:15

Oh jasper, I must disagree. 35g of oats doesn't touch the sides for me.
New week and its going to be a good one all round?? Hopefully.Smile

B,bacon LM sausage tomato & egg. 1 nimble hexb
L, chilii rice & vegetables I found in the fridge - ratatouille I think.
D, beef stew with lots of sf veg in it.
