After my doom and gloom last night I went to weigh in this am and lost 1.5lbs this week. Happy with that as I was sure I would have gained. Have done SW for 4 weeks now and lost 6lbs. It seems like small weight loss compared to some but I am happy that it is consistent and keeps coming off.

JasperDamerel · 25/07/2015 10:08

That averages out at 5 ago a year, which is pretty good.

Yesterday I ate:
Bircher muesli with raspberries,
Leftover tuna salad, a carrot and a pot of Danio yogurt.
Half a jacket potato with baked beans and HexA cheddar, and raw carrots, cucumber, pepper and radishes.

Today I have a cold. I want to make hot and sour soup for lunch, but the kids hate it and I don't have the ingredients. I'll make it on Monday, once I've been shopping.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/07/2015 13:42

Well done patsy. It's a loss and you sound like a tortoise like me. Slow and steady

B sw fry up
L mugshot and fruit
T not sure as at a wedding so wil limit any damage but prob write tea off but been a good blonde rest of day

JasperDamerel · 26/07/2015 07:57

Weigh-in today with ridiculous first week loss, as the easy-off stuff goes. 10.5lb lighter, 6cm smaller round the waist. So very nice, but not on any way a reflection of where I'll be next month. It was fun crossing out the numbers on my chart, though, so I'll bask in glory for today, and then go back to focusing on the lifestyle rather than the numbers.

JasperDamerel · 26/07/2015 08:03

Oh, and yesterday's food diary:

Bircher muesli with nectarine and sunflower seeds (hexB, 1 syn)

1/2 jacket potato with baked beans and salad of red and yellow pepper, mushrooms, cucumber, carrot, broccoli and sweet corn.
2 babybels (HexA)

1 Moser Roth dark chocolate bar (7 syns)

2 eggs in fry light, leftover salad from lunch, green salad with vinaigrette (2 syns).

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/07/2015 09:07

Wow at 10.5 loss ( green eyes flashing ) :)

Wedding food wasn't good - tho knew it wouldn't be - lasagne but ate with green salad - and sausage in white French bread (but was good and no butter) also turned down a chocolate chip cookie

Back to knowing what syns I eat to today

Eating out is hard sometimes as feel I've wasted maybe 10 lasagne 6 sausage 6 bread - so 22 syns gone :(

OK ladies, i need your help. Please.
Am totally shite at this healthy eating thing this week. Had hubby home for the week and am 2 lb up today.
Words of wisdom or big slaps please.

Today's menu is -
B, 1 nimble with egg & beans.
L, roast chicken, beans sprout & carrots, new potatoes & gravy (2 syns).
T, made sw katsu curry & have veggie rice.

JasperDamerel · 26/07/2015 12:32

No words of wisdom other than yum! How do you make the katsu curry?

annielostit · 26/07/2015 13:46

ingredients

For the chicken

4 skinless chicken breasts
240g fresh wholemeal breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the curry sauce

1 large onion, chopped
1 courgette, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 tsp fresh ginger
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp coriander
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp sweetener
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 litre chicken stock
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp fat free fromage frais
Low calorie cooking spray
method

Spray a large heavy-based saucepan with low-calorie cooking spray. Add the onion, garlic and ginger and cook for 3 minutes or until the onion is softened. Add the carrots and courgette and lightly fry for a further 4-5 minutes. Add the turmeric, cumin, coriander, chilli powder and sweetener and evenly coat the vegetables. Add the stock, soy sauce and bay leaf and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
While the sauce is cooking, preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C Fan/Gas 6. Season the breadcrumbs with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Place each chicken breast in some clingfilm and flatten with a rolling pin or meat tenderiser. Remove the clingfilm and dip the chicken in the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs and place on a baking tray sprayed with low-calorie cooking spray. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
For the sauce remove the bay leaf and pour the contents of the saucepan into a blender. Blitz until it becomes a thick, smooth sauce and stir in the fromage frais.
To serve, slice the chicken breast into pieces, spoon over the curry sauce and serve with steamed jasmine rice.

The sauce is nice with chicken strip's thrown in too.x

JasperDamerel · 26/07/2015 13:48

That sounds delicious! I will have a go at cooking it next week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/07/2015 16:02

tried the overnight soaked oats this am, looked rank and why would i eat porridge cold???

binned it and had fruit and ml instead

dont get why everyone raves about the above oats? Hmm

annielostit · 26/07/2015 16:07

The oats aren't my favourite either. Doesn't touch the sides as you don't have to chew it. It's not what I'd choose.

JasperDamerel · 26/07/2015 16:20

I have it as proper Bircher muesli. Soak the oats in 7-8tbsp water for anywhere between 15 minutes and overnight. Just before you eat, stir in a grated apple, a few tablespoonfuls of fat-free natural yogurt, some more fruit, and nuts/seeds if you want to syn them. It is all creamy and delicious.

calzone · 26/07/2015 21:35

Am back!

I have eaten a 17 course tasting menu, wine.....
Pork belly
Sticky toffee pudding
Eggs Royale
Millionaires shortbread

It was awesome!!

CiderwithBuda · 27/07/2015 09:53

I'm back too after a weekend away in London. Tried to be good but had far too much wine on Saturday night and dessert. Then last night we had to stop for food on the road and ended up at MacDonalds. Which I haven't had for at least six months. Quarter pounder with cheese, large fries. And a diet coke!

I did the overnight oats last week. Wasn't overly impressed either. Will try as bircher muesli as I do like that.

I was thinking of doing a 500 calorie day either today or tomorrow but maybe I should try sp instead. Really want a loss.

Will hunt out the book and read up on sp.

Calzone - how was the tasting menu? Was it all lovely or were there bits you didn't like?

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/07/2015 09:59

Wow at 17 courses but bet they were small

B after chucking overnight oats - fruit and ml
L chilli con carne and rice minus kidney beans - so basically spicy spag Bol
T leek ham pasta and veg

Just relised I didn't have my A and b yesterday. Can I have double today?

annielostit · 27/07/2015 10:17

Taster menus, yummy. Hope you enjoyed it. I love those sort of things, hence my spare tyre.

Eating yesterday's a & b is classed as tweaking, it shouldn't hurt but not encouraged in group.
Well today was OK,
Food was, toast egg & beans
Chicken sprouts carrots & beans. New potatoes gravy (2 syns).
Liberte yogurt & plums.
Vegetable rice, katsu curry & chicken.
Marshmallow 3 syns. Wm crust 4 syns.

Today's plan.
Apple - before gym. Did 90mins walk & arm weights.Smile
Egg toast & beans,
beef stew - cooking as I wriite lots of sf veg.
Sw chips mushy peas & faggots 6 syns
Pineapple & ff yogurt.
What's your today's menus?

JasperDamerel · 27/07/2015 10:19

What were the highlights of the tasting menu?

Yesterday I ate:
Scrambled eggs, beans and grilled mushrooms

Roast veg with chickpeas

1 Salted caramel ice cream stick thing
Bowl of lentil soup with HexA cheddar.

Forgot to eat my hexB and fell asleep at around 8.30pm fully dressed about 2 pages into a book.

galison · 27/07/2015 16:55

Hi - I am new to this thread (and to the boards). Started SW last week.

Menu for today is:

B: Cheese omelette, baked beans (HEXA)
L: SW burger, Padron peppers, roasted BNS, egg
Snack: 25g jerky 2.5 syns
D: Liver casserole with onion swede and carrot, baked potato, brocolli & cauliflower 1 syn for gravy granules
Snack: 20g 70% Lindt 5.5 syns

Just realised I haven't got a HEXB in there. Normally I have chia pudding for breakfast but I was working at home today so had the omelette. Sure it won't hurt to miss it for one day. Wish I had got some nuts when I popped out!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/07/2015 18:15

B cereal and fruit (b)
L super speed salad at pizza express
Small aubergine/tomato bake as starter
T roast beef jacket and tons of veg and Yorkie (2)

Prob have crisps (5)

Anyone know what the Syns are for lunch. Can't find in the bible sw book

Only a few chunks of avacardo and no pine nuts

galison · 27/07/2015 19:28

Pizza Express Restaurants Main Course Leggera Superfood Salad with Chicken (per serving) 8.5 syns

Pizza Express Restaurants Main Course Leggera Superfood Salad, including dressing (per serving) 10 syns

Can't find the Melanzanine but using their nutritional info, I put it through the calculator, guessing a weight of 200g and using aubergine as the main ingredient and it came out at 9.5 syns.

I'm going to pizza express tomorrow so am looking at what to eat.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/07/2015 20:06

What the hell Shock

Is that for the few chunks of avacardo? Everything else was free !!!!!!

Same with the aubergine dish. Was tiny. Know the sauce prob has oil but was a tomato based one. And tiny amount of cheese on top

Thought I was eating the lowest syn meals

Sits on naughty step

Thank you

calzone · 27/07/2015 20:13

Tasting menu highlights were the Oyster Pebbles, the beef with pomegranate, the scallops with cauliflower and the pineapple weed dessert. SmileSmile

At £125 pp we won't be returning any time soon!! WinkWink

Tasting menu sounds delicious as does the katy curry. I am on holiday and not doing brilliantly at SW. Staying with other people and finding it v hard to say that I won't eat certain things. Also hard when we are eating lunch out all the time. Yesterday we stopped off in a pub which only sold baguettes and each one had mayo in the filling. Still, it was my own fault to add crisps to it!
My other downfall is wine. When I am at work I don't drink Sun to -Thursday- Wednesday, but I feel like I deserve a couple of glasses of wine on holiday. I will offer to cook this evening though which might help.
