Morning everyone! I'm still reeling from my unexpected loss last night and it's making me more determined for this week. I pledged a 3lb loss with my leader Shock

B: 2x Hifi bars, Muller Light, mango chunks, coffee

L: Spicy chicken pasta, Muller Light, 2x clementines

D: Mugshot, banana (working 9-5 then college 6-9pm, need to eat on the run!)

Hello! Hope I can join you all on this thread?

I started following slimming world yesterday and hoping to shift a stone in total.

Yesterday I ate:

B: yoghurt and fruit
L: jacket potato and tuna
D: pasta with Arabiata sauce (sw recipe) with small amount of grated cheese
Has milk in tea throughout the day.

Don't think I had enough protein yesterday so my tea will be chicken, veg and potatoes today

So far today I've had:

B: fruit and yoghurt
L: jacket potato and beans

Really really want a huge slice of cake right now!!

Looks like a good start, I think your protein intake for yesterday looks ok. Remember to try and have at least a third speed food with each meal, less chance of feeling hungry and encourages a steady weight loss.

B fruit and yoghurt

L Made my crustless quiche today. Was actually pretty yum.

I used:

Spinach
Red onion
Sweetcorn
Mushrooms
Quorn ham
4 eggs
Cottage cheese
Little bit of low fat cheddar

D Tonight is leftover veggie curry

No, you just don't take the second b choice if you're not actually having an SP day because you've had something that isn't an S or a P.

Beef sandwich, apple.

Dinner will be a fry up.

Have had a kitkat and a couple of rich tea. There might be another slice of bread with dinner so another 2.5 syns.

Not a great day, but the stress is proving an effective appetite suppressant.

S - Cadbury snack and a banana

Thanks lakeflyPie! I actually didn't do so well in the end...got home to find DH cooking gone off chicken. He needed to leave for work shortly after so ended up having chips - epic fail! Blush

Will have to write today off and start again tomorrow!!

On the plus side, my son offered me some of his chocolate and I actually said no! There's a first time for everything!

Well done on the chocolate refusal, I'm avoiding it too, I'm just not a 1 square person!
I'd recommend not writing off today as a fail, work out the syns for your chips and factor it into your weeks plan. It's not a fail at all then and you're in control

Argh, I was roped into helping at a work thing which I'd previously declined to attend and I ended up eating buffet food.

I had three sandwiches, four mini sausages rolls, a couple of chipolatas and three little M&S chocolate mini roll things Angry THEN I went to college for three hours, got home and had white toast with peanut butter. I'm so annoyed at myself.

Today looks like this:

B: Hifi bars, banana, Muller Light, coffee

L: Leftover cajun chicken pasta, Muller Light, 2x clementines

D: TBD

S: Apple, coffee

Good idea, based on having half a bag of chips that's about 14 syns I think so although it's not great, I'm still on track!

Evening! Im having one of those days where I dont feel sated by what im eating..... Gahh!

B: Yoghurt, fruit, 2 pieces toast with nutella (4 syns)
S: Milky coffee...
L: Lamb tagine, cous cous, mullerlight, peach. (2syns)
S: Apple. Grapes.
D: Naked burrito (2syns) - actually very nice, but now having made it, I will make it from scratch rather than a packet mix in future. I even ate and enjoyed the beans in it, so thats a novelty! Apple.

Now Im wanting to snack. really really wanting something to crunch on that is not fruit. Or veg.

Weetabix, yoghurt, coffee

Cheddar and apple salad thing from tesco. Ditched half the cheese and didn't use the dressing as I don't like them so it came in as free.

Tuna, rice, salad thing. There were green things and lots of pepper and lime. It went down ok so I don't think it's going to kill us.

Fuck off huge skinny latte and a kitkat were my syns.

Morning all. I managed a syn free day until the two handfuls of crisps, two mini rolls and FIVE mini peanut butter cups. Whyyyy?!

One pound off for me this week. It's taken me two weeks to get rid of the two pounds I put on over the weekend I was in Dublin.

Fanny and Helena - hope you don't mind but I noticed for both of you yesterday you had sugary breakfasts. Muller lights and HiFi bars are full of sugar as is Nutella on toast and yoghurt (assuming the yoghurt was low fat). That could be why you both had a day where you were either hungry through the the day (Fanny) or had cravings later (Helena).

I've noticed at my group people who eat lots of Muller lights and HiFi bars struggle. We need protein to fill us up. Not sugar. Even if SW disguise it in the form of HiFi bars which they say you can have a Healthy Extra. They might have fibre but they still have lots of sugar. It might be sweetener rather than pure sugar but it has the same effect on your blood sugar levels. Sends them sky high so you get a burst of energy then sends them crashing down leaving you craving more.

A breakfast with protein would fill you up more. Or porridge (not quick cook).

I usually do have porridge or egg on toast but work has been hectic at the moment and I haven't had as much time in the morning as I would like, hence the grab-and-go breakfasts.

I do like overnight oats too, which are obviously prepared the night before, but I prefer them with dark chocolate almond milk and my local Tesco has stopped stocking it Angry I might drive over to Asda at the weekend to see if I can get a few bits and bobs.

I actually prefer to have full fat dairy, nuts, avocados and plenty of healthy oils but SW definitely isn't a plan which encourages a lot of that unless you want to be stung for a load of syns.

cider, you are right. I usually have boiled eggs for breakfast, but decided to have something different for a change (plus I was craving sugar) and it just didnt work for me. So I was back on the eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomato thismorning.

I am a naturally wide awake and starving person in the morning - I can eat 5 minutes after opening my eyes.

Hope you don't both think I was preaching! It is something that irritates me about SW. The selling of HiFi bars as a healthy option. Don't get me wrong - I buy them but I syn them. I love one with a cup of tea after lunch.

I would syn them rather than half an avocado! An avocado is so much more of a healthy extra.

Milk in 4 cups of tea

I've lost 2lb in a week (only sw for half the week but doing it alone the other half) so feeling motivated! Also my team ordered pizza for lunch but I skipped it Smile
