Hi please can I join?

Back on slimming world. Don't have to much to lose but put a little bit on with holidays etc. and want to catch it now while clothes all still fit (snug!) I've set my goal at 13 pounds. I've don't SW before after my son but only online and doing online again so be nice to have somewhere to chat!

Anyway! Today I've eaten

Breakfast: 2 weetabix and skimmed milk and cup of tea.

Lunch: omelette made with two eggs, mushrooms and three bacon medallions, ate with half a plate of salad. (Baby leaves) 1 table spoon of fat free dressing.

Dinner: sw recipe chilli and cauliflower rice (which surprising didn't taste that bad for someone who loves carbs and rice!!)

I'm also using mfp to make sure I don't overeat and portion correctly!

FannyFanakapan · 10/08/2015 20:08

Thank you Calzone :)

So yesterday's dinner ended up being more like

d- mexican inspired chicken stew with rice and more salad. Had cheese on top (HEA) and then, as I ate early and went to a long boring work meeting had some more stew when I got home with some wholemeal bread (HEB)

B - FF total Greek yoghurt (170g pot) with honey & blueberries (7 syns)

L - Jacket with cheese and beans + salad

D - chicken curry with non traditional accompaniments of broccolli carrots & potato wedges

No idea what to use HEB on. Don't really want to get into the habit of cereal bars as think that was one of the things that made me go off piste last time. Maybe some tinned fruit? Doesn't really appeal tho!

Well done calzone! Amazing loss.

I'm struggling. Had MIL here for the weekend. It was DS's birthday on Wednesday so I made a chocolate cake. MIL brought two cakes. And a pork pie. Hmm. Went out quite a bit. And drank lots of wine. Then it was our 20th wedding anniversary on Tuesday - champagne, more wine and too much of the wrong foods. Am eating far too much bread. And tonight we are out for dinner and have friends coming on Saturday. DH wants to cook Thai on Saturday. Might see if I can come up with something more SW friendly. That way I can enjoy tonight and get back on track from tomorrow.

I am really impressed with those of you who stick to it so well. This is the bit I always struggle with. Start really well but get knocked off track very easily.

annielostit · 13/08/2015 16:42

There's a few Thai gtreen curry recipes floating on tinternet.all sw friendly. You could get oh to make noodles etc to go with it
www.mytaste.co.uk/s/slimming-world-thai-green-curry.html

I'm in awe of those who stick to the plan 100% I'm not very good, life gets in the way etc. Thinking after this weekend (away again) things might go better, hope for another sts on Tuesday then maybe a loss.

CiderwithBuda · 13/08/2015 17:18

Thanks Annie. Will have a look at that but I think we have changed plan anyway. Doing Indian. DH does a fab rogan josh that can easily be SW friendly and the last two SW magazine have lots of sides that are Syn free so that's the plan now.

I think we all come off plan sometimes for occasions etc. It's getting back on I struggle with. But I am getting back on tomorrow. I am!

This time of year is hard with school holidays, days out, trips away etc. Roll on Sept.

ohthegoats · 13/08/2015 17:18

I'm on holiday but went to a meeting yesterday. Lost 1.5lbs, which I'm pretty happy about. It's going SO slowly... 9.5lbs over 5 weeks - which when you've got 4 stone to lose just seems a snail speed. Still, I suppose that time still passes, and at Christmas I could be another stone lighter.

Had a Pizza Express Leggera pizza today... pretty much the equivalent of one slice, and still 20 syns. Urgh. Even though it's only 500 calories. I'm sure that as long as the rest of the day is under 1200 cals it'll still be OK. I'm trying to be realistic about sticking to the whole SW thing forever - it's got to work long term, and ideally turn into me being able to pull back on some stuff after I've had a day of eating big stuff, rather than counting everything and panicking.

Mollymay2011 · 13/08/2015 20:06

Hi,I've been reading all the threads and it's all so interesting ,I too have tried slimming world a few times but not being a group person I guess I felt the odd one out but now I am thinking maybe I could join in here ,ok I am 57 but a young at heart one ,I don't want to grow old gracefully oh no I want to fight it sooooo people's would you mind ?would you help and advise ?

FannyFanakapan · 13/08/2015 20:21

welcome molly, join in, its been a great way for me to get ideas but also makes me write everything down, and so keep track of everything.

B: Bread (hexB) beans, eggs. Milk in tea all day (hexA)
L: Salad, chicken fillets.
D: Chicken curry (counting 3 syns because it had coconut milk) with rice, yoghurt. 2 pieces of galaxy chocolate (2 syns). turned down a glass of wine - first weigh in after holidays tomorrow, so im hoping for a minimal gain.

I'll be happy if I manage to keep within a few lbs of lowest weight over august - find school hols just so disruptive - not least because I plan to eat something and then find my fridge has been raided and everything has gone!

ThursFriHappy · 13/08/2015 21:26

Can I join? Been on SW for 3 weeks now and lost 4.5 lbs. Slow but steady. Hoping to lose a stone by Jan as it's my 50th then.

Totally blew it tonight Sad, drank almost a full bottle of wine after a great day of free food. Gutted.
First time alone as dh went out for tea with work colleagues.
Hope to get back on track tomorrow.

ThursFriHappy · 13/08/2015 21:28

Excuse my manners Shock
May I join please!
