Really good day food wise yesterday. Then I hit the wine. Not good. Shared a bottle with DH. Had a yummy dinner of steak, crispy potatoes done with a few sprays of olive oil and roast veg and a spoonful of pepper sauce. Can't resist red wine with steak.

Need to be super good today for weigh in tomorrow. Wanted a loss of 3lbs which won't be happening.

The weather isn't helping. It's making me grumpy and want to eat.

AppleSnapple · 28/07/2015 10:39

I think hols are just harder, aren't they? I am desperately trying to fit in sw to current situation but we are out picnicking every day, I've no lunch box, there's no where to buy fresh salad or fruit as we're in the sticks...!!! I gave in yest and just had a sandwich with everyone else. Back to earth with a bump when I see the scales I'm sure but I'll pick myself up and carry on!!

galison · 28/07/2015 10:42

I would say that was just the worst case scenario, Bloneshavemorefun. Well done for not letting the feast carry on for the rest of the day.

For me today:

B: Boiled egg and chia pudding (HEXA & B)
L: Roasted veg and chicken drumsticks, strawberries
Snack: Apple
D: Pizza Express - not sure yet. Either superfood salad with chicken no dressing 8.5 syns (according to SW planner), Or the new Fishi Fresca Salad which I will guesstimate as the same as the superfood salad if I drop the doughballs, the dressing and ask them to sub the mozzarella for the light one or the New Leggara Pollo Arriabata which if I put through the calculator and give a guess of 500g for the weight somes out at 7 syns. Decisions decisions.

Oh and group weigh in at 12.

annielostit · 28/07/2015 12:21

How's things going for everyone??
Had a nice gym session, 40 mins x trainer & walk plus 40 mins weights & squats.
Food wise,
B, poached haddock tomatoes & egg. 1 hex b wm bread.
Carrot sticks.
L, pasta mushrooms & tomato sauce 15 g parmasen I think???
D, cottage pie swede & carrot green beans & mushy peas.
S, mallow 3 syns. Fruit & other hexb bread or crisp bread.
Looking for low syn day today.x

RavioliOnToast · 28/07/2015 13:17

I went a bit off the rails after initially posting on the thread.

I'm going to stop going to class and do it from home, I'm so skint, that extra £20 a month could be the baby wipes etc, that's how stretched the old purse strings are.

I've been struggling the last fortnight because I haven't been to class but last night I stepped on my scales (slightly different to the sw ones) to a weight of 15.3, I'm absolutely gutted. I need to sort myself out and totally get my head back in it.

dd has been diagnosed cmpi and with a gluten allergy, bang on weaning stage so I'm really struggling with ideas for food for her.

back on it today

breakfast - 2x weetabix with sweetener and an apple chopped up and dumped on top

lunch - pasta, quorn chicken, mixed peppers, quark, paprika and Worcestershire sauce. it was yummy!

tea - going to have the rest of the sw corned beef hash I made last night and have it with a load of veggies.

JasperDamerel · 28/07/2015 14:18

Yesterday I had:

Breakfast: leftover chickpea and roast veg salad and a nectarine

Lunch: leftover lentil soup with HexA babybels
Danio yogurt

Dinner: raw veg and chicken katsu curry on cauliflower rice.

I'm finding that my meals are becoming more and more like the way I used to eat as a child in France, with veg soup or another vegetable dish to start, a protein heavy main course, a salad and then some cheese or yogurt to finish off with. I'm finding it all very nice and comforting. Breakfast, on the other hand, is no longer bread, butter and jam dipped in hot chocolate.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/07/2015 17:35

B - two slices wholemeal toast with peanut butter
L - M&S chicken tikka and rice salad - Balanced for you range
S - was starving so had a sandwich w low fat cheese
D - minted pea and feta omelette
S - yoghurt and a nectarine

Not great and not enough speed foods. Or water.

I need to work out syns.

emwithme · 28/07/2015 22:34

Had a few sticky days...came on on Thursday morning (just before WI...yay!) so had a maintain, then found out my brother had died on Friday (we're not sure why, got to be a post-mortem), so this week has been difficult to say the least.

DH is also off work which throws everything off schedule.

Today's food:

Brunch: 3 egg omelette with mushrooms and chopped baby yellow plum tomatoes, tassimo latte - 4.5 syns (switching to their cappuccino once I've finished this pack of lattes, save myself 2.5 syns a day!)
Dinner (early): Chicken breast with garlic and herbs, baby new potatoes, sugar snap peas, broccoli - 2.5 syns for butter
Snacks: Nectarines (3 throughout the day)
Supper: HEB toast with HEA laughing cow triangles, apple, pear.

I really wish that SW did books of "food diary" type things (WW do a journal where you can write everything down, and have a spot for how you did that week etc) because I'm struggling now I'm out of the first four weeks. Think I need to get myself a nice notebook.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/07/2015 22:51

So sorry to hear about your brother :( be kind to yourself and if you eat /gain then it will come off

Feeling peckish but at work so not sure what I can have / will go and forridge in fridge

Problem with working days and nights my body clock gets mucked up and end up waking up after working nights and breakie is 11am

dp df Grin has kindly moved our 2nd freezer into kitchen under the stairs so going to be better at getting something out of freezer before I go to bed so can defrost and use next day

Have frozen my extra Tom/basil sauce and will use with pasta etc next week

JasperDamerel · 29/07/2015 08:11

I'm so sorry about your brother.

I bought this food diary which is a bit twee, but has space to draw stuff, which I like. I also like the fact that on weigh-in days you do weight, waist measurement and resting heart rate.
www.theworks.co.uk/p/healthy-eating-books/diet-doodle-diary/9781781868263

You can get more sensible ones, too.

CiderwithBuda · 29/07/2015 13:29

Em - I am so sorry about your brother. That must have been such a shock.

The leader at the group I go to gives out the food diary to anyone who wants one.

One of the women at the group this morning said she writes her weight loss on her food diary and if she is struggling she repeats a week with a good loss.

I'm thinking of doing my own as I find the SW ones too small for my crappy hand writing. I want space for speed foods, space for free foods, space for Syns, space for exercise and space for fluid intake. I have a few notebooks so I could use one of them.

So my result this week was a loss. Just. Lost half a pound. Not overly surprising really after the weekend.

Am on a mission now to lose 3lbs this week. Aiming to drink lots of water, eat lots of speed food, walk an hour a day and keep proper track of my Syns.

galison · 29/07/2015 15:18

Sorry for your loss, Em.

Yesterday turned into a bit of a disaster. I STS at WI but TBH I am not bothered because I know it is fluid from TOM and the wine I drank at the weekend balancing back out. I am on the wagon for the next two weeks. Then my Pizza Express meal went to pot because we were delayed and we ended up with pret with sandwiches and crisps which is all we had time for before the radio recording we were going to and toast when I got home at 11 and starving. I am not even going to bother to track the syns, just draw a line and carry on.

So, today is:

B: Chia pudding (HEXA HEXB)
L: roasted veg, Tesco BBQ chicken chunks 1 syn
Snack: Beef Jerky 2.5 syns, 15 Pistachios 3 syns
Exercise: Bodypump
Dinner: pork casserole, kale, baked potato
Snack: 20g 85% Lindt 5.5 syns

emwithme · 29/07/2015 19:45

Thanks all. It's weird because he was a really crap brother (but a very nice bloke generally), we've never really been close but he's still my brother and he was only 46 and it's NOT BLOODY FAIR

I have pretty much stayed "on plan" but have been allowing myself chocolate/gin when I want it - and strangely I haven't gone overboard, which is nice. However, I know that if I had had a big bar of Dairy Milk in the house at any point over the past week it would've been inhaled. I've been managing with kitkats! We shall see what tomorrow morning brings.

(And then DH and I are off on our semi-annual "road trip" to visit family for the weekend, so it's 5 1/2 hours on the motorway to get Oop North to visit his lot, then hotel, then 3 1/2 hours south to my lot for a couple of days - hotel again - and then home on Monday, so next week's going to be tough too. Dinners will be fine but I cannot resist a full hotel brekkie!)

FannyFanakapan · 29/07/2015 19:50
