Holy moly Butt I really thought you'd put on 15 lbs and was about to ask how you'd done it!!! Grin

Well done King and Apple on your losses this week!

I maintained last week which was slightly disappointing, but lost 2.5lbs this week which gave me my 4 stone award! So, so happy! Just 8 lbs more to go until my target!

And yesterday I finally went shopping for some new clothes and comfortably fit a size 14 trousers and size 12 top! Size 12!!! I haven't been able to wear a size 12 since my late teens (and I'm 39 now) and was a size 20 at christmas. Feeling pretty amazing I must say don't fuck it all up now

Bithurt · 24/06/2015 14:23

Well done on everyone's losses! I weighed myself this morning and am 13stone exactly. I went back to ww for a couple of months and I was 12st 7lbs at the beginning of June. Oops!
My ds starts nursery after summer and I don't want to feel or look like I do now.
I was under 9stone at my wedding 5 years ago and just let myself go after. Which is probably the same for a lot of people.
I'm having left over Bolognese for supper before my night shift. Tomorrow I'm doing butternut squash risotto which was in a magazine last year and is so nice!

Talcum, I bet you feel fantastic in your new, smaller clothes! I like hearing stories like yours where you've lost so much in 6 months. It's motivational :)

RavioliOnToast · 24/06/2015 14:24

talcum that's fab! well done you! well done all of you actually Grin
I bet its so amazing to shop for several sizes smaller than you have been. does anybody have a cheat night? do you find this affects your weight loss or not? in terms of syns, how many do you limit to?

OP posts:
KingOfTheStupids · 24/06/2015 14:37

I had a bit of a cheat last week. We got a take away pizza (and garlic bread) but instead of one each, we shared one with peppers and pineapple on. This satisfied a niggling craving I had but wasn't too excessive. I think for me it's better to have one cheat dinner a fortnight/month than nibbling extra syns through out the day. It's easier to keep track of the extra syns that way and is more satisfying.

Wow Talc what an achievement in such a short amount of time. I bet people you haven't seen for a few months don't recognise you!

TalcumMucker · 24/06/2015 14:43

What I loved about shopping yesterday was actually looking at all of the clothes and being able to take my pick, instead of scouring the hangers for anything in my size and then seeing if I liked it.

Ravioli I'm pretty good and don't have a cheat night, I occasionally go over my syns allowance for the day but always compensate over the next couple of days. I've never exceeded the 105 syns limit for a week.

TalcumMucker · 24/06/2015 14:47

King I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and will be seeing people I haven't seem since Christmas. Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to their reactions?!

KingOfTheStupids · 24/06/2015 14:54

I think you've earned a few dropped jaws Grin

AppleSnapple · 24/06/2015 23:37

Wow, talcum, wow wow wow. That's awesome!!

Do you think writing down is the key, btw? I haven't been logging my food anywhere, just trying to eat only free food with occasional one syn for fat free yoghurt etc. is that the wrong thing to do? I thought you'd be able to log food diary online but so far I haven't found anything on the website, it's a little hard to navigate! ...

Perfectlypurple · 25/06/2015 07:40

Wow, some amazing losses. I am about 10 weeks in. Had a few bad days but getting there. Starting exercise next week which will help.

king do you have a recipe for the 5.5 syn white sauce please? I struggle with what to put on pasta as don't like tomatoes.

RavioliOnToast · 25/06/2015 08:35

if you were looking for something free for pasta, I stir in quark. It makes it a little creamy, if I'm having chicken or something, I'll also add Paprika, or cajun spice

TalcumMucker · 25/06/2015 11:34

Apple I kept a food diary for the first 5/6 weeks and it definitely got me into good habits. I don't write everything down now but we have a dry wipe board in the kitchen and on there I keep a tally of my syns just to make sure I don't go over.

AppleSnapple · 25/06/2015 17:27

Thanks talcum, good to know. I guess even just keeping a written rally of Syns rather than totting them up in my head would be good!

Buttwing · 25/06/2015 20:53

Just been to weigh in and have lost 3.5lbs this week I'm now 1.5lbs from my 3 stone award I'm going on holiday a week tomorrow just me and dp and would really like it before I go. Need to be good this week again -she says eating biscuits for tea!-

AppleSnapple · 25/06/2015 21:44

That's amazing buttwing- you must be so thrilled with yourself. 3 stone will be such a massive and well deserved achievement!

KingOfTheStupids · 25/06/2015 21:57

Congratulations Buttwing. 1.5lbs for a week should be fine Grin where are you off to?

purple for the White sauce I melt 25g spread and mix in 25g plain flour. Then add enough milk for the consistency I need. It works out as 5.5 syns for 100ml which is fine for most pasta dishes or the top of a lasagna. I add my daily allowance of low fat cheddar to make a cheesy sauce or sometimes stir in a bit of pesto. I like to use my syns for my evening meal Smile

AppleSnapple · 25/06/2015 22:24

Can I ask how many Syns do you use on average daily? The 5-15 range is pretty loose! I try to consume as few as possible but today I had a lovely glass of wine and added pesto and half fat Creme Fraiche to pasta sauce... Still under 15 I think (oh and two Syns for a yoghurt!) is that about right or are you successful folk managing on minimal Syns?

KingOfTheStupids · 25/06/2015 22:31

I normally use between 10 and 15 a day. Occasionally I'll have a day when I only use 5 but I always feel better if I've used more.

emmaluvseeyore · 26/06/2015 11:31

Do you guys mind if I join you? I have been an online member for 11 weeks now and lost 8.2 kg (1st 4lbs) so far . I have a long way to go yet though as I started at 129.9 kg (20st 6lbs)! I was a size 24/26 when I started but I am now down to comfortably fitting in a 24. My initial target is to get to 100 kg as I wanted something manageable, but I will adjust that once I get there.

apple, there is a section on the website where you can do a food diary. If you go to "my weight loss tools" along the top, then "weight loss planner", you can do a food diary on there. It is annoying you can't do it on the app, but I find I stick to things much better when I am keeping an accurate log of what I am eating. I found I was eating more syns than I realised because I wasn't keeping track properly.

Buttwing · 26/06/2015 12:53

Thanks guys I'm pretty chuffed!

king we are going to Spain, I'm only going for four days but it's just me and dp so I'm really looking forward to it! I have 4dc and 3 of them are under 5 so it's quite relentless at times Grin

Apple how many syns I have varies I try and have some everyday (I love chocolate so it's not hard!!) obviously if you don't have them you will lose weight quicker. If I try and cut back on my syns too hard I end up binging.

Welcome Emma Grin I admire you for doing it online I'm not sure I would have the discipline the fear of the weekly weigh in keeps me on track! How have you found it?

emmaluvseeyore · 29/06/2015 11:16

I am finding it ok doing it online, buttwing. I don't have time to get to any of the local meetings, so it had to be online! Sometimes I do feel like it would be good to discuss where I might be going wrong with someone, so I have found it useful to join in on here :)

Bit disappointed this week as I only lost 0.3 kg. I was expecting a loss of at least 1 kg as I have done loads of exercise this week. Not sure where I went wrong tbh!

KingOfTheStupids · 29/06/2015 22:46

I impulse bought an aerobics step which arrived today. So far I have used it as a changing table for the babies nappies and DS has decided it's a fantastic car park for his cars. However, I fully intend to use it as intended at least once when the step aerobics DVD arrives.

Not holding out much hope for the weigh-in on weds. I'm feeling distinctly blob-ish today

RavioliOnToast · 30/06/2015 09:26

I had weigh day yesterday and lost 3.5lbs Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin I'm not 0.5lbs from my half stone! I will absolutely get it this week. I'm just on way to Newcastle to get some new shoes and those little invisible sock things as I've got bot all to wear :( I also need a pair of sandals and a few bras! think I'll bash primark for my bras as I always seem to lose tit weight when I'm on a diet Sad how are you all feeling today?

OP posts:
TalcumMucker · 30/06/2015 12:22

Ravioli that's ace, good work!

I lost 2lb this week which I'm well happy with, and according to the NHS means I'm now officially a healthy weight for my height Grin. Just 6 lbs to target...

Hope everyone else is having a good week? Keep hydrated in the heat people!!

RavioliOnToast · 30/06/2015 12:39

congratulations Talcum that's a massive achievement!

What are you all making for tea? Grin

any ideas what to take to a taster session?

OP posts:
TalcumMucker · 30/06/2015 12:44

I think it's mushroom fried rice for me tonight. Or maybe a Quorn pork steak, SW chips and lots of veg. Not decided yet, I'll have the other meal tomorrow night whichever I choose.

Is there a theme for your taster Ravioli? At our last one I made the asparagus and pepper muffins from the SW website as they were easy to transport (and I had a lot of veg to use up so I threw that all in too!)
