Not many low syn snacks to choose from at the cinema Smile

We roasted a chicken today for lunch, thinking it'll do for snacking on cold tomorrow, but DH and toddler have demolished the leftovers! Then did a rice pudding for tea (HexB skimmed milk, free pudding rice & 2.5 syns sugar)

We are off for a 3 mile walk in the woods tomorrow. According to DS we are going to look for bears and wolves Smile but hopefully it'll help shift the pounds for weigh-day on Wednesday.

RavioliOnToast · 25/05/2015 17:28

I'm missing weigh day today, dh won a ticket to go see foo fighters with work so haven't got anyone to have kids, and cba to trail them with me. I'm having an awful day today aswell, feel like I'm on rock bottom. so tonight will consist of a share bag of peanut m&ms and cupcakes xxxx

Buttwing · 25/05/2015 21:24

Hi, may I join you?

I started slimming world in November after having dc4. I have lost 2stone 7lb so far and I am half way to target. Ive lost motivation a bit recently so having others to chat to would really help! :)

RavioliOnToast · 25/05/2015 22:25

hey Buttwing
that's amazing! I really live hearing stories about other success, makes me think it really is possible for me to lose weight not while I'm sat here with my m&ms though

have you found it easy? what we're the most trying things you came across? have you gained at all? like a couple of pound here and there?

Buttwing · 25/05/2015 22:58

Hi ravioli on the whole it's been fine. I've had the odd week where I've gained but when I've deserved to!!
The hardest thing I've found is if I have a night out. I don't really drink unless I'm going out so if I go out I tend to have a few Blush this leads to a hangover which then means I eat rubbish.
Thankfully this only happens every couple of months!

KingOfTheStupids · 25/05/2015 23:05

Hi Buttwing. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Are you doing much exercising of has your success been down to the eating plan?

Buttwing · 26/05/2015 08:15

I'm ashamed to admit I'm doing zero exercise at the moment!
I really need to start but I have three under 5 so I'm struggling to find time. I know I need to start though I'm just so unfit. I was talking to a lady at my slimming world class and she was really raving about couch to 5k. I know she wouldn't mind me saying this but she is a very curvy lady and she said to me if she can do it anyone can. She's amazing she's lost 5 stone and her and and her husband have just been approved to adopt after a lot of fertility issues. She announced it at group the other week and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. They seem such a lovely couple I think they will make amazing parents.

KingOfTheStupids · 26/05/2015 13:17

It's good that you have done so well without the exercise Smile

I'm hoping to start Aqua aerobics this week. My babies a toddler are good sleepers and I can leave them with DH in the evening once they are in bed to get to some of the later classes, so I'm quite lucky there.

The lady from your group sounds like she should be one of the success stories you read about on the website.

I'm getting nervous about weigh-in tomorrow morning!

Buttwing · 26/05/2015 18:54

Yeah she's pretty inspirational. :)

Mine are good sleepers too but there always seems to be stuff to do after they've gone to bed. I should make time dp seems to manage it!

I've been at a wedding this wend and have eaten everything that hasn't moved! Been good today my weigh in tommorow night I will be happy if I maintain this week.

I've made the hairy bikers chicken madras for dinner it's free if you use spray rather than oil and it's delicious. Having it with an aldi poppadom for 2 syns. If you don't like it so spicy you can adjust the chillis.

WhyIRayLiotta · 26/05/2015 20:28

Hello Smile

Can I join in?

I've got 4 stone to lose and have done a lot of reading up about slimming world mumsnet research and it sounds like it might be good for me.
I lost over 2 stone last year low carbing and exercising for my wedding - but I've put it all back on! (A common complaint from low carbers)

I have the books etc as I went a few years ago - can't desire if I want to do the classes or fork out for online membership when I am still mithering about whether I'll last or not.

So here's to the first day (tomorrow!) my slimming world oats are in the fridge and I want to lose the first 2 stone by October of possible. Smile

KingOfTheStupids · 26/05/2015 20:54

Hi Why Smile

Good luck for you first day! 2 stone by October is a good target.

I did lose quite a bit of weight a few years ago by borrowing some books and following the plan without attending meetings. My motivation was fitting my bum comfortably into a plane seat for an up coming holiday. That was before the babies came along and ruined my waist line Grin

This time I just couldn't get into the swing of dieting on my own and felt attending the group sessions would help me. I've got my second weigh-in tomorrow.

WhyIRayLiotta · 26/05/2015 21:06

waves at King* *
I have looked up the local class and I am thinking about it - but I want to see how I go with the diet itself - I don't want to go / pay the money then decide it's not for me.

RavioliOnToast · 27/05/2015 07:37

hi Why
good luck for you first dayand first step towards your goal Smile

I find the classes really really helpful. I couldn't make mine on Monday and I've had little to no motivation to stick to plan so far.

dreading next week's weigh in now. I'll be kind of on plan today, hopefully. Blush

Buttwing · 27/05/2015 08:35

Hi why I really find the classes really help too. I find it hard to stay motivated without the fear of the weekly weigh in Grin
But I'm easily led once I hear the call of the chocolate!

KingOfTheStupids · 27/05/2015 11:39

3.5 pounds lost & slimmer of the week Grin Grin Grin

RavioliOnToast · 27/05/2015 12:08

well done King

I'm attending another group near to me tonight to get weighed. I need to to get back o n track this week or I'll fuck the entire thing up.

I'm really over the moon for you!

TalcumMucker · 27/05/2015 12:29

3lb off for me this week, got me my 3.5 stone certificate! Just 1 stone and 1lb to go until my target, although I'm already thinking I might change it and try for an extra 7lbs on top of that.

Good idea to go to another group Ravioli, ours was cancelled this week (weigh in only) as our leaders daughter was ill and it surprised me how much I missed it.

Had overnight oats for brekkie today and am only just now thinking about lunch. This would never have happened a year ago, I'd have snacked on all sorts through the morning, it's amazing to think back and see how much my eating habits have changed.

Hope everyone else is having a good week?!

TalcumMucker · 27/05/2015 12:29

And well done King!

Buttwing · 27/05/2015 13:04

Wow king and talcum well done that's amazing!

Grr I can't go to class tonight dp got a meeting. Oh well think I've maintained or maybe half off. I really miss it when I don't go too.

KingOfTheStupids · 27/05/2015 21:53

Ravioli hope they weigh-in went well tonight

Well done Talc that's such a fantastic achievement Grin

buttwing, could you attend another meeting this week instead?

What are these overnight oats that everyone keeps talking about?

Buttwing · 27/05/2015 21:58

Unfortunately not king. Normally I'm there no matter and if I'd known I could have gone on Monday. Oh well can't be helped.

I've got hollow legs tonight, ate with the kids at 5 which was huge mistake, I've wanted to pick all night I'm still within my syns but I have not stopped eating!

CookieMonster101 · 28/05/2015 00:55

Can I join you guys please? Been doing slimming world dice January but only lost three lbs. Blush im always doing well for a day and then eating chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.

I really need some friendly support and butt kicking please. 12 weeks till our holiday so there is some time yet. Wedding next year and I'd like to lose 4-5 stone if possible. If I can ever stop eating m&ms

KingOfTheStupids · 28/05/2015 09:04

Welcome Cookie Smile

Do you have a time of day when you start craving the choc?

Also, do you get weighed at a class or do you just weigh yourself at home?

TalcumMucker · 28/05/2015 10:57

King for overnight oats you mix 35g of porridge oats as your HExB with a free yogurt (I use vanilla Muller Light) in a glass, and add frozen fruit on top. Cover with cling film and leave overnight. Delicious as breakfast or a sweet treat during the day.

Cookie I feel your pain, chocolate is my weakness too. I can manage until mid afternoon and then I need it! I buy HiFi bars from group (Rocky Road and Double Chocolate are gorgeous) so when I get my 3pm craving I have 2 of those as my HExB and then a Muller Light and I've had my sweetness fix without using any of my syns. Then after dinner I can have a Curly Wurly, or a mini Crunchie or Twirl (or all 3!). When I'm feeling like I'm going to go off plan I try and remember why I joined in the first place, or I allow myself the extra syns and then pull it back the next day to compensate.
