Anyone want to jump back on the SW wagon with me next week?

I did really well on SW last year until about August when it all went horribly wrong.

We had a good virtual group on here. A lot of us were doing it ourselves rather than going to a group but we had some fantastic 'group losses'.

Does anyone want to join me next week and get going again? I am planning to weigh in on the 6th...

Well done blonde. A lb off is still a loss and a lb closer to goal!

Looking at your menu you need to have more syns though (maybe with tea?)

Polkadolly · 03/01/2014 22:23

Ok I've been shopping today, going to buy a notebook/folder tomorrow to write down everything I eat and to keep meal ideas in...I think that's where I struggle is finding new ideas for food.

Plan for tomorrow is:
B:fruit and yogurt
L:dairylea on toast hex a and b
D:fajita chicken, peppers, onions, spicy rice, side salad
Syns I usually have a freddo or kit kat. Does this sound like an ok day?

I'm also going to up my water intake and start jogging again also need to dig out my shred DVD.

Can't wait to get started again.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2014 22:32

I know I need to eat more syns - tho had chicken kebeb from kebab. That was prob high as marinated in oil and pitta 6

Def good to write everything down

AntiJamDidi · 03/01/2014 22:42

I've had a good day today I think

Brunch (because I had a rare child-free lie in Grin and didn't get up til 10:30) Eggy bread then fruit and yoghurt.
no lunch
Dinner: Chicken and chorizo (4) paella made by dp

Snacks 3 biscuits (2.5 each), banana, orange, grapes, pineapple, mango

damnitdamnit · 04/01/2014 18:46

Just returned to the thread in preparation to start Monday. Not had the chance to read everything yet but if it hasn't been mentioned yet there is a voucher in the daily mirror today for free joining of slimming world saving £10. Will catch up with the thread and come back later.

AntiJamDidi · 04/01/2014 21:05

I lost half a lb. That's since the start of Dec cos I've missed 3 weeks. Im happy with that since it was over Christmas and new year. I'm aiming for about 2 lbs this week. Maybe I'll get it, maybe I won't, I'm a bit tortoise like as well.

androbbob · 04/01/2014 21:17

polka which plan are you following as your lunch seemed a bit light on food. Perhaps dome grilled mushrooms and a side salad would have made it a lunch that fits in with extra easy. I would have been hungry an hour later after that!

ant your tea sounded fab but again did you have a third superfree with it?

WI on monday for me, so need to be good between now and then.

Nishky · 04/01/2014 21:25

Hi - can I join in? Have lost 2 st 2 lbs since May and managed ( somehow) to stay the same over Christmas. Although I am worried it may catch up with me next week as I was not that good Blush

AntiJamDidi · 04/01/2014 21:37

androbb yes there was a third super free in it. Dp has now been trained to add extra veg to any recipe. So in the chicken and chorizo paella we had tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, courgette and carrot. It was more veg than rice tbh Grin

Today I've had
b: hi fi bar, apple, 2 satsumas
l: egg, sw chips, mushrooms followed by a banana
d: Spicy Italian chicken with pasta, including a tomato based sauce with onions, courgette, carrots, peppers and mushrooms with a sprinkling of parmesan.

a: parmesan
b: hifi bar
s: wotsits (4.5) and a mars bar Blush (14 I think but cba to find my book to check)

NachoAddict · 04/01/2014 21:38

I joined today - free joining voucher in the mirror.

I need to lose 15lb altogether.

Tonight for dinner we had chicken and asparagus no pastry pie, it was delicious. Dp couldn't tell it was a sw recipe and the dc ate it (apart from dd who doesn't eat anything) I had a third ofca plate of peas and roasted parsnips & carrots.

any ideas for breakfast that don't use up my healthy a & b, i want to save that for lunch on the weekends but fruit and yog won't fill me up for long!

NachoAddict · 04/01/2014 21:39

Oh and also starting the, shred again tomorrow!

AntiJamDidi · 04/01/2014 21:56

How about scrambled eggs fr breakfast? Or an omelette with maybe some peppers and mushrooms, or a "fry-up" with bacon, eggs, quorn sausages, beans, mushrooms, etc? Magic porridge (healthy b of porridge oats mixed with a mullerlight yoghurt and left in the fridge overnight) leaves you with your a choice for lunch.

For speed in the week I normally go with just fruit and yoghurt or sometimes just fruit, then have some more fruit or carrot sticks mid-morning.

NachoAddict · 04/01/2014 22:21

Oh I like those ideas, bacon omelette and beans! I couldn't get my head round eggs without toast...

I will probably have a piece of brown toast and a banana or two weetabix and a banana for breakfast in the week which I can eat at my desk, I have easy access to salad/tuna/chicken/jacket potato/fresh veg in the work canteen so wont need my healthy a/b for those.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2014 22:22

Ant - well done on loss

Nisky - well done for sts

Nacho - what's the recipe of chicken and asparagus pie please

Breakie at weekend - fry up as have time - egg(fried or scrambled) quorn sausage - bacon a beans toms onions mushrooms etc

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2014 22:26

B porridge and milk and mango so a&b
L beef stew (2.5) cabbage jacket
T chilli prawn linguini with onions peppers and courgette

Rachel's yog (2.5)
Grapes ham

NachoAddict · 04/01/2014 22:28

pie

Highly recommended. I'm no Jamie Oliver either so pretty easy recipe.

Fizziebizzy · 04/01/2014 23:18

Wow nacho I've just checked out the website you got the pie recipe from and there are loads of other brilliant things on there. Thanks for sharing.

NachoAddict · 05/01/2014 09:27

You welcome Fizzie I am really excited this time round to try cooking some meals the whole family can enjoy. Last time I did it I had omelette, jacket spud and plain grilled chicken or fish with veg, every day. I just didn't know how to cook from scratch but I have much improved.

todays plan :

B 2 x Weetabix with milk & chopped banana (healthy a & b)

L ham omlette with mushrooms, peppers, onions and baked beans. Orange slices.

D grilled peppercorn medallion steak with sw chips, peas, mushroom, tomato, corn on the cob.

RaRayRay · 05/01/2014 19:35

Hi, can I join you all??

I lost 2 stone last yr on SW after I gave up smoking and and put on a lot of weight at the beginning of the yr. Managed to.net keep it off and over Nov and Dec have put a stone of it back on.

I haven't joined yet but started last weds and weighed myself at home, I've been really really good stuck completely and doing the 30 day shred exercise every day. I know I shouldn't but I weighed myself today and apparently I've put on 3 lbs, now to say I am pissed off is an understatement. Feel terribly disheartened but I know I can do it and it works for me as I've done it before just need to stick with its.

So this evening I made SW chicken and leak pie it was really nice and free I've found it on a website called Goodtoknow.co.uk and if you put SW recipes in the search engine once you're on there , it gives you about 7 pages of things to cook and I've done a meal plan for this week. I have decided we are going to be a much healthy family.

So despite I disappointing start I am going to.stick with it. I would like to lose 2 stone, I would then be 9 st 10 at 5ft 8 in although I would settle for anything at the moment . [Smile]

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2014 20:07

rayray - weigh once a week at same time, weight goes up and down

b lm sausage 2,eggs, toast (b)beans, toms, ketchup (1)
t jacket, tuna , mayo lite (2) beans, salad, cheese (a)

s fruit

had late b so no lunch as been out all day and full up so just had t

need to eat more syns 'sighs' so may have choccy bar

anyone know what a tube of smarties are?

RaRayRay · 05/01/2014 20:35

Blndshavemorefun

Thank you I know the rules about weighing but then I couldn't help myself, now I know why I shouldn't .
I'm going to j o in SW on Thursday this week so will know if I've lost anything then

Today I had

2 weetabix with milk (a and b)
L nothing I'm afraid because I was out and didn't have a chance
D SW chicken and leek pie (free)

About to have some grapes and a bowl of rasberries, blackberries and a meringue nest (2 sins)

Exercise 30 mins, 30 day shred and sit ups.
R
I do often skip lunch because I'm always so busy and sometimes can't be bothered, I think I'm not eating enough and need to up my sins as I average 2_4 a day .

NachoAddict · 05/01/2014 20:44

What happens if we don't eat all the syns we are allowed?

I just had a caramel snack a jack with chopped banana on top, toffee mullerlight, a dollop of fat free natural fromage frais, chopped strawbs and a drizzle of honey. Really tasty way to get some syns in, I think it was 2.5 for the snack a jack, 1.5 for the yogurt (Greek style) and 2 for the honey.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2014 23:49

Apparently if you don't eat enough syns or eat enough food then you don't lose weight as body thinks it is being starved

Also as weight loss gets slower you are meant to drop from 15 to 10 a day

I do mine over the week so often have 6/8 a day sun to thur but have more fri and sat for booze and takeaway

Was told as long as 70/115 a week doesn't matter if have less some days and more others

smarties tube 9syns. Love sucking them
