Anyone want to jump back on the SW wagon with me next week?

I did really well on SW last year until about August when it all went horribly wrong.

We had a good virtual group on here. A lot of us were doing it ourselves rather than going to a group but we had some fantastic 'group losses'.

Does anyone want to join me next week and get going again? I am planning to weigh in on the 6th...

Thanks bean. Your meetings sound like mine.
I like porridge n fruit for b fast.
I'm fine cooking sw dinners but struggle to do their recipes with all the added veg. Can I just add a side salad or a portion of veg?

How do u find it best to keep a tab on what u are eating and a and b choices and syns? Do u write it down?

Report
Blondeshavemorefun · 01/01/2014 22:12

I write it down everyday so can keep eye on syns

I add up through the week rather then 15 a day iyswim

Ok that sounds good. So can u save syns for weekend wine and chocolate?

This sounds a bit sad but I have a small notebook with a page for each day and I number the lines 1-15. When I use a syn I write it into the next line(s) so that I know when I have used them all. I can also plan to make sure that I have enough syns for, for example, an Options hot chocolate at bedtime which I love.

I am fairly consistent/boring with HeB (Alpen bars or ryvita) and I use the HeA for babybel (that I can snack on in the car) or for the laughing cow triangles. If we go out for dinner I might use my HeA for parmesan on a tomato pasta dish.

If it's not in my notebook or a HE than it has to be free!

Ohh can i join? I'm doing it the cheats way and not actually joining SW but I'm familiar with the concept of the diet and my mum is re-joining so giving me her old book for reference.

I had a baby in August and need to lose about 1.5 stone but ill be happy with 1st to be honest. I'm going back to the gym on weds, aiming to do 2 classes a week for now. I'm saving the shred for when weight loss stalls.

ledkr exactly Grin

would often be badish fri/sat with say chinese/gin etc so then have 5 days to even it back out and if say had 70 syns then can have 5 a day for next few days

i struggle to eat 15 syns every day unless had say crisps/chocolate/booze which i dont always want

often use syns on salad cream/mayo light

what do people have for 15 syns a day?

I really need to lose 1-1.5 stones. I want to be slim for my 40th in April and know I need to pull my finger out NOW if it's going to happen.
Low carbing is appealing as the concept makes a lot of sense and I know I'm a complete sugar addict but I know SW as I lost 1 stone by going to group last year but lost the inspiration and gained / lost the same 3-4 lbs for months so couldn't justify going to the meetings every week.
So on balance think I should go with what's familiar.
I know the plan and it's my head that's the problem not my understanding of SW Sad

Will start with a food diary tomorrow

Exercise-wise I've signed up for Jantastic - a running programme thing with some chums.

Beanandspud I like your notebook idea, might have to copy that! I have been writing everything down and then adding up the syns at the end of the day, but after 3 months of writing down everything I eat, it is getting a bit tedious. I will try your way for a couple if weeks and see how I go! Thanks!

I have made some lovely things over the past couple of days that have gone down well with visiting guests too:
-Mushroom and bacon stroganoff (added bacon to the recipe)
-Bacon, onion and mushroom syn free quiche
-fajita chicken with salad and sweet potato chips
-syn free pizza

I'm trying the chicken burger recipe for tomorrow nights tea and coconut prawn curry on Friday night. Yum!

I'm definitely back in! I've put on a good 1/2 stone since I last weighed in early dec!!

What does it cost to rejoin at the moment?

neunundneunzigluftballons · 02/01/2014 01:08

Yep. Can I join here. I have 2 stone + to lose by the end of the year. I lost 10lbs before Christmas with SW but it is nearly all back on after the biggest Christmas blow out ever.

Glen what is shredding?

Report
glenthebattleostrich · 02/01/2014 01:21

Jillian micheals 30 day shred. It's an intensive 23 minute a day exercise routine. Very hard but it gets results

Evening Smile
Day started well with fruit for bfast and veg soup for lunch but deteriorated somewhat when the cakes were served for colleagues leaving do.
Have tried to redeem myself by doing Shred this evening and will try to do that each evening whilst DP bathes DC. If memory serves correctly I'll be walking upstairs like a crab and groaning involuntarily when I sit down by the weekend Grin
Stir fry veg for dinner and planning a more controlled day eating wise tomorrow.

My plans to be good were going really well all week. Monday - Wed I had under 5 syns per day to make up for a gazillion syns on Sunday at my dad's birthday party. Today dp finished work early and took me out for lunch in a restaurant where there wasn't a sw friendly option other than jacket potato with beans and I refuse to waste my meagre eating out tokens on something so basic. So I've eaten another gazillion syns today :(

I missed wi for the past 3 weeks and I was really hoping to have maintained for the month I've not been there but I think I will probably put on. Maybe I just need to starve myself tomorrow so I get a good result on Sat. Or maybe I need to face up to it all, draw a line under it and move on.

I did go swimming today and swam a km (40 lengths Shock) so that makes up for a syn-heavy lunch doesn't it? And I have had syn-free dinner, so that makes it all ok.

Evening all!! (waves to blondesGrin)

Still plodding on with the SW plan - Blondes suggests she is a tortoise, well I am slower than a tortoise. I have lost 1 st 12lbs since Nov 12, so nearly two stones. Need to do the same this year as well - before the summer would be a bonus! My plan is to lose 30lbs, which at 1lb a week means I could hit target by mid July!

My short term plan is to lose 7lbs in January. I WI on a monday at a group, so I have 4 WI to achieve this.

I too tend to go for fruit and yog for breakfast. This week I have added in one scan bran as I found some in the cupboard and needed to use them up! I have also been drinking lots and lots of water.

Looking forward to getting on with losing weight after the festive period has now passed!

Ledkr, hope the op goes well!

I got on the scales this morning and faced the music. Put on 8lbs. So gym clothes are on and just waiting for dh to finish something to take over with the kids and I'm off to the gym. I'm a bit nervous, its my first time going and I'm so overweight I'm afraid people will laugh at me. I suffer with some anxiety too (which I'm hoping some regular exercise and a reason, for leaving the house will help with) so plucking up all my courage and getting out there!

Have a good day everyone!

I'm in! I lost nearly 2 stone last year (went to group) but stalled in Dec. Have put on 4lb since then.
I'm going back to group on tues.
I tear recipes out of the mag and keep them in a folder, I like making ones that the wholry family enjoy.
I usually have weight watchers dessert yog for breakfast with a banana.
Then, if I'm at work I have a baxters country veg soup for lunch with an apple and an Alpen bar.
I try yo have virtually syn free meals then an options hot choc in the eve with somefruit and a snack.
I'm hoping to lose 1.5 by Easter.
