Anyone want to jump back on the SW wagon with me next week?

I did really well on SW last year until about August when it all went horribly wrong.

We had a good virtual group on here. A lot of us were doing it ourselves rather than going to a group but we had some fantastic 'group losses'.

Does anyone want to join me next week and get going again? I am planning to weigh in on the 6th...

I'm really unfit too Ledkr. I like the look of sis as it starts off relatively easy for the first two week and seems to build up to weeks 5/6. I tried jogging if you could call it that last summer and knackered my knee so I'm hoping I can cope with this exercise. I used to love Zumba as it didn't feel like an exercise class, but I don't think I could risk it now as there's a lot of knee swivelling going on in it!!

AntiJamDidi · 30/12/2013 11:39

I'm in. I've been doing sw since July and have lost 1st9.5 but missed group for the past 3 weeks due to illness, parties and visiting relatives, so I'm not sure how much of that I've put back on. I'm back on the sw wagon from today.

My problem now is what to do with the 4 boxes of chocolate I was given for Christmas. I think I would offend dp and mil if I gave them away but I don't think I have the self discipline to only eat one a day or something.

Ledkr · 30/12/2013 11:50

I'm just finishing all the crap in the hope I'll be sick of it by the 6th.
fizzie that's what I need a gradual build up.
I was shredding just after I'd had dd2 by cs and finding it easier than now. I had a thyroid problem which made me lazy tired, so I turned into a bloody couch potato.
I'm going to have to build in some exercise not just for weight loss but my health!

Ledkr · 30/12/2013 12:12

Where is it on you tube? I can only see clips

Fizziebizzy · 30/12/2013 14:36

See if this link works Ledkr. I'm on I pad so can't copy anything properly. If not, keep searching as they're definitely the real ones. Start it up is 35 mins and the next one called ramp it up is 43 mins.

laughalot · 30/12/2013 16:11

I will, was here last year and dropped 2 stone still kept a bit of the weight off but want to try and lose more.

laughalot · 30/12/2013 16:13

It does work as well just look at my pictures on profile but its hard work :(

snowyowl70 · 30/12/2013 16:20

Going to group shortly to assess the Christmas damage !! Hoping not to have gained more than 3 pounds which I will try and get back off this week !!

fruitpastilles · 30/12/2013 17:17

Count me in! I joined slimming world last January but stopped going for no reason at all. Since then the weight has crept back on. I need to join and once and for all shift this weight and keep it off. I think I've about 3.5 stone to lose. Will know exactly when I join on the 9th. I'm my cousins maid of honour in August so would like to have lost it by then. That's achievable isn't it?

rheasmummy · 30/12/2013 22:16

Count me in too! I had a baby in June and I haven't been able to diet as I've been too hungry whilst breastfeeding. I've had a number of false starts but I know it works as I've lost 2 stone in the past with slimming world. I can't face the meetings but I know what keeps me going is the fear of the weigh-in! So I'm thinking of joining next week. I need to lose 3 stone but my goal is to lose at least 1.5 stone by the time I return to work at the end of April :)

iklboo · 30/12/2013 22:22

Our last weigh in was 23 December and we'll be back on plan from 2 January (1st weigh in on 6th Jan so hoping to lose at least a little of my Xmas flobber by then). I've got around 1stone to lose to get to target so I'll be working hard to get there by Easter, our June hols at the very latest.

snowyowl70 · 30/12/2013 22:29

Well it was a 2 1/2th pound gain so I am ok with that - hopefully will lose it next week and be back on track

Fizziebizzy · 31/12/2013 06:14

Well snowy that was less than you thought you had gained Smile

TheCrimsonQueen · 31/12/2013 06:29

I'd like to join. I go to group find it keeps me on track but this last week has been hard. I have lost two stone since June but put on a pound this week. I have 4.5 stone left to go :(

iklboo · 31/12/2013 13:20

Woman Magazine and (I think) The Mirror has vouchers for joining at reduced rate in the new year.

afromom · 31/12/2013 23:52

I keep hearing about the shred. I think I need to give it a go!

Feeling motivated today as went to weigh in this morning thinking I would have put on loads only to find that I had lost 2.5lbs! Nearly fell off the scales in shock!

DS and I have set up an exercise challenge to try out a new type of exercise each week, alongside some regular exercise.

For those of you not yet started, do you know about the free GP referral thing at the moment? Some PCTs will refer you to SW for a 12 week free trial if your BMI is over 35. May be useful and save some pennies for some!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/01/2014 19:47

'drags sorry blonde butt back again'

beanandspud · 01/01/2014 20:00

I weighed in yesterday and I am starting the year a stone lighter than last year but not quite the 3 stone that I was hoping for.

We still have cupboards of Christmas stuff so I am trying to eat/drink less this week and start properly next week. Hoping that by Sunday I will be sick of crisps and chocolate...

I have a new notebook specially though! I find that I need to write down everything for the first few weeks to get back into the habit of counting syns. I also bought the new SW magazine which has some nice recipes so hoping that will kick-start things.

We'll get there, this is the year!

I had a buffet today and invited family to skim off the remaining grub.
I'm having an op on Friday so off work a while so hoping to use time to plan properly and have a good crack at it.
Can anyone kindly post a few typical days to help me plan.
I tend to eat a lot like blondes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/01/2014 20:37

well done for keeping some of the weight off

we will do it this year - i have 2 weddings to go to in april and june and need to be slimmer

im a 16ish and was 12 :( - will settle for 14 for weddings

Ive just looked in my cupboard and found 5 unopened sw mags Blush get them delivered

will read them tomorrow/next few days and motivate myself

i know what to do, its just doing it

wi is friday

i find reading peoples menus help me chose what to eat and like new recipes that are easy to tweak as dp is 6f4 and likes his food and is lsim Envy as burns it off working

glenthebattleostrich · 01/01/2014 21:31

I've done my meal plan for the month, am off shopping on Friday morning and will be buying some scales.

I'm finishing the wine and nibbles this week and start shredding tomorrow too.

Just considering going a bit Bridget Jones with my food diary and trying writing more instead of reaching for chocolate when I'm cross / frustrated / happy / pmtish / any other excuse...

Ledkr · 01/01/2014 21:34

Glen, can you share ur plan or is it too difficult?
I don't like the sw menu plan online as its way too complicated and dh and kids would never eat a curry with big chunks if squash in etc.

beanandspud · 01/01/2014 21:45

Ledkr I'll post next week's plan once I've worked it out!

I tend to have fruit and yogurt for breakfast which is free and then have soup, jacket potato or salad for lunch. I like the Alpen light bars as my HeB as they are easy to have at work as a snack - particularly in meetings when everyone else is eating biscuits, cake, sweets.

Dinners tend to be things like fish pie, paella, chilli, pasta bake, curry etc. if that helps.

This month's magazine has recipes for butternut squash lasagne, arrabiata bake, cowboy pie, sausage stew, mushroom and backn tagliatelle and barbecue chicken which look quite family friendly. Might be worth a look for some inspiration?
