Anyone want to jump back on the SW wagon with me next week?

I did really well on SW last year until about August when it all went horribly wrong.

We had a good virtual group on here. A lot of us were doing it ourselves rather than going to a group but we had some fantastic 'group losses'.

Does anyone want to join me next week and get going again? I am planning to weigh in on the 6th...

Hi ive posted tonight on a newer thread but been reading the posts on this one for a while and have enjoyed all of your stories so thought id ask if i could join, in a nutshell. After being a size 10 for most of my adult life ( unhealthy food fads) i put on alot of weight since injuring my knee (now better). lost a stone by myself and another 1 1/2 with sw but its come off and on for over a year now. Finally accepted i need to work on bein healthy not jus slim, so now im goin it alone ( work commitments mean cant get to classes). I started on1 feb and have lost 11 lb. So if its ok to join thought i would let you all kno what ive eaten today, any feedback would b welcome:
B- ham and beetroot sarnie (eaten at my desk) HEB and fruit
L- sw veggie and cheese quiche and rocket HEA
D- pork loin (no fat) sweet pot wedges and salad

S- fruit and mini ryvitta (5)
D- water, black coffee, black tea

I WI on fri mornings and like a drink so usually use 40 of my syns over the wkend on alcohol, the other 30 are split between the other 5 days, i do ee mixed with 1 or 2 reds so find it easy to go weekdays with minimal syns. I would like to loose 4 stn, soz about the reeeaaly long post.

loobylou1967 · 05/03/2014 00:15

Weigh-in tonight - 3lbs off! Grin Had a taster session and everyone brought lots of syn-free or low-syn treats to share. Picked up lots of tips and recipes. Really pleased with my loss and hope I can repeat it next week

Babydol10 · 05/03/2014 17:15

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good day, loobylou well done, can i ask how many weeks in are you, after my first month my loses seem to go down to 1-2lb per week, still loses i kno but it would b great if some weeks i could shift an extra pound like you, do you do all ee or alternate them with r&g days too. Well today's meals are:
B- 2 boiled eggs ( early start today and eaten at desk again) fruit
L- left over pork and salad from yesterday
D- sw spag bol with cheese on top HEA and lots of veg

S- mini ryvittas HEB, muller yoghurt (.5)
D- green tea, water, black tea

Does any one have a tried and tested recipie for curry im havin major cravings at the wkend.

loobylou1967 · 05/03/2014 17:58

Babydol10 I'm 8 months into it now and like you my losses slowed right down but had a gain of 3 last week so have been superfocused this week. I do all EE - it just works for me as i get confused and end up eating the wrong stuff when I try to alternate it. Mine are:
B- Toffee Muller over raspberries and blueberries
L- Seafood in a tomato sauce
D - SW Baked bean lasagne, cheese on top HEA

S - Pear, parma ham (1.5), Milky way crispy roll (3) Choc hobnob (4.5)
Drinks- Water

Babydol10 · 05/03/2014 18:54

I know that a loss is a loss but sometimes thinkin about losin 1-2 per week and then thinkin how much ive got to lose it seems like it will take forever, still its good to kno that if i keep focused too i may have weeks where an xtra pound comes off, ive been really good this week and hope that i'll get 3lb so can hit my first stone. Well anyway well done again, and thanks for helping

muminthecity · 05/03/2014 19:43

Well done loobylou and Babydol. I will have been doing SW for a year in April, have lost nearly 6 stone, but like you, my weight loss has really slowed down the last few months. In the beginning I was losing 3-4lbs a week fairly easily. After the first 4 stone it became much harder and I'm now averaging 1-2lbs a week. I have to be 100% on plan to get a 2lb loss though - in the beginning I could have 1 or 2 bad days and still lose 2-3lbs. That is so not the case now unfortunately! Grin

I'm trying to see it as a positive thing though - everyone always says the longer it takes to lose the weight, the more chance you have of keeping it off. That's what I'm telling myself anyway! Also, SW is not a quick fix, it's a long term lifestyle thing. I know that I will reach target eventually, and now that I've changed my eating habits I'm certain that I'll be able to keep the weight off. I'm sure you will too Smile.

muminthecity · 05/03/2014 19:46

Have been good today:-

B - Banana
L - Chinese chicken salad with extra light mayo (1 syn) and a mugshot
D - Vegetable pasta bake with goats cheese (HEA)
S - Pineapple, mango, grapes, slice of ham, 2 malted milk biscuits (4 syns)

I will have a bag of Ryvita minis later as my HEB.

ellietrying · 05/03/2014 21:11

ok so im biting the bullet here. been going through a lot (dont want to expand here) and need to do something positive for myself now. i have tried (and failed) numerous times with SW but i need to do something for myself and i know losing weight is a good first step. i need to take control before i end up with MH problems. i found a saturday morning group and have text the consultant (i suppose it makes it more real that way!) and am planning to go on saturday. i just hope i dont chicken out! will be on here for lots of help and support!

Babydol10 · 05/03/2014 21:56

Wow muminthecity thats amazing ive got a wedding to go to in august, its in italy and I am determined to go looking bronzed and slim, i would like to loose at least three stone by then and my final stone by christmas. It seems a long way off but i kno its doable, i guess i just need to concentrate on each half stone in between. You have done sooo well, i bet ur really proud of urself and your spot on about the lifestyle, that way it will stay off. Go for it ellie, its hard to walk through the door but u wont regret it. Ive only lost 11lb and can allready c the difference, i feel better, look better and can fit into jeans that i couldnt get over my rather large bum last week.

fluffygal · 05/03/2014 22:41

babydol I have always only lost 1-2 pounds a week. There is only two times that I lost more then that really- 4 pounds before Christmas and recently 5 pounds and I don't know why that happened. It has been slow and steady for me and I have been happy with that, less chance of putting it back on.

Of course it would be great if I could lose it quicker but as long as the number is going down, I am happy. And I don't see me changing my diet much once I have finished so it does not feel too difficult.

Babydol10 · 06/03/2014 12:29

muminthecity · 06/03/2014 20:17

L - Leftover pasta bake with goats cheese (HEA) and salad
D - Salmon with roast sweet potato and butternut squash, broccoli and cauliflower
S - Pineapple, muller light, tangerine, 3 little biscuits (6 syns)

Babydol10 · 09/03/2014 13:02

Ooohhhh ellie its exciting, your taking the first step to becomin the healthy slim person u want to b, defo somethin to b proud of. Let us kno how u get on. I lost another two pound this week and have had a challenging time since last postin. My mum was rushed int hosp early fri morn and we have spent lots of time up there this wkend but among that i managed to get a healthy sw shop in and have stuck to plan 100%. Even if it has meant walkin around with a handbag full of fruit, mini ryvittas, ff supa noodles and rice packs.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2014 16:29

sorry all, been awol - well done loss's :)

LilBick · 11/03/2014 12:23

Any room for a not so little one? Sorry have just posted here but am crap at these things and don't know if it sent or not! Blush

Babydol10 · 11/03/2014 22:21

Welcome lilbick, im new too, are u new to slimmingworld aswell or an old pro rejoining, i dont visit a group are u doin it alone or do u attend a class.

LilBick · 11/03/2014 22:29

This is my third and hopefully final time! Doing online this time as there is only 1 class I can go to and didn't much like it before. How long have you been doing it? Am still on week 1 so feeling positive - need to get rid of between 3 and 4 stone so must remain upbeat! Smile

Babydol10 · 12/03/2014 06:32

I started about three years ago calorie counting, i lost a stone and then joined sw with a friend i lost another 1 1/2 stone but friend got pregnant, i got married and rl took over so stopped goin. Since then the 1 1/2 i lost went on and isome of it come off but then it went back on again as tbh was only half heartedly doing it. So made decision on 1/2 to sort my arse out and get back on it properly, somethin feels different this time, im determined to shift it ALL and FOREVER and so far im really focused. Ive got four stone to lose and have lost 13 lb so far. I look foward to sharing our sw journeys.

fluffygal · 12/03/2014 18:50

I lost 2 pounds at weigh in on Monday!! I now have 1 pound and 3/4 to get to target, so happy but feeling slack this week. Already had a slice of cake today- was a small bit! And it's my birthday on Friday and will be having some drinks so wouldn't mind if it took me another week to reach target I guess.

Plan on starting a new target after this though as still got a bit of a mummy tummy to get rid of, maybe another 7 pounds? I can feel the muscle underneath but still a small pouch there!

How has everyone else done this week? It's all quiet here!

muminthecity · 12/03/2014 19:31

I put on 2.5lbs this week Sad. I deserved it though, I had a brilliant weekend, was out drinking Saturday night and pigged out at a barbecue on Sunday, so my own fault. I am annoyed though, I was so close to my 6 stone award!

fluffygal · 12/03/2014 19:34

I find I have got a bit complacent being so near to target though mum . You are allowed to enjoy yourself don't beat yourself up! 6 stone is amazing!!

Babydol10 · 12/03/2014 23:39

Well done on the loss. I fell a bit today ended up stayin later than expected at wrk so starvin bought a prepacked salad with sauce on it and had a wm pitta, really pissed off about it. Went to the pub afta but did resist the chips and only had a water so good in the end. Im determined to have a good week next wk, might even do a couple of sucess express days, anyone else done it? 6 stone is amazing mumand dont feel too bad if its ur birthday fluffy.

loobylou1967 · 13/03/2014 01:37

2 lbs off this week for me - really pleased as thought I'd only maintain after a couple of days went to pot! Really tuck to plan for rest of the week though so it must've paid off. Done lots of cooking and planning the last 2 weeks and feel much more focused. Good luck all for this week x

muminthecity · 13/03/2014 19:52

Thanks fluffygal, but unfortunately I am still over 2 stone from target!
Well done on your loss loobylou.

I have typed up a detailed meal plan for this week, including all 3 meals plus snacks and worked out the syn value for everything. My Tesco shop will be arriving any minute now. Hopefully this will help to keep me on track!

My day today:-

B - Banana
L - Chicken salad with couscous and yoghurt, cucumber and mint dip
D - Pasta bolognese with salad and cheese (HEA)
S - Mango, yoghurt, banana

When my shopping arrives I will be treating myself to some Ryvita minis (HEB) and a fun size bag of chocolate buttons (4 syns.)
