Anyone want to jump back on the SW wagon with me next week?

I did really well on SW last year until about August when it all went horribly wrong.

We had a good virtual group on here. A lot of us were doing it ourselves rather than going to a group but we had some fantastic 'group losses'.

Does anyone want to join me next week and get going again? I am planning to weigh in on the 6th...

Have my first WI tomorrow which should be interesting. Going SW shopping today, getting the 'One shop three meals' suggestions from the magazine as the meals look quite filling which will helpfully stop me picking.

muminthecity · 16/02/2014 20:20

I've been a bit naughty today, had 22 syns all together. Hoping I can even it out by having less tomorrow. Also did 1.5 hours in the gym this morning and burnt over 500 calories, so I'm hoping that will help!

B - Banana
L - Jacket potato, tuna, sweetcorn, spring onion and mayonnaise with salad
D - Roast beef, potatoes, vegetables, gravy and a Yorkshire pudding
S - Melon, Ryvita minis (HEB), jam tart (7 syns), a really tiny bit of chocolate cake (4 syns) and a slice of thick white bread (6 syns) with cream cheese (HEA.)

muminthecity · 16/02/2014 20:20

Good luck for tomorrow LMS, what are the meals you're doing?

Nouseforausername · 16/02/2014 23:06

I have not stopped eating all weekend!
been doing sw for about 18 weeks and have posted here under a previous name.
Am at work tomorrow and have made lunch of pasta corn and chicken with a big salad and sf dressing, sugar snap peas and an egg just need to chop some fruit in the morning to go with my chocolate cake for 1/2 a syn which is a variant on the 1/2 syn cake.

Hoping to get my 3st award tuesday, am only 1lb off it so should manage it and hoping for a good rest of the week. Smile

Ca I join in too ladies for see inspiration and motivation. I have just realised I have become the proud owner of a muffin top!!! SW has worked for me in the past but I can't be bothered with all the group faff.

I've made a lovely couscous salad for lunch and planning egg and toast for breakfast. Just hope I can resist the 4pm chocolate urge!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/02/2014 10:36

Has anyone made the cous cous cake? Apparently syn free

LMSunshine · 17/02/2014 13:59

Hi Marceline, I'm a newbie to the group to and mumsnet, although have lurked in the past.

Good luck for Tuesday Nouse, three stone is a great achievement.

I was meant to be cooking vege sausage stew, salmon and potato frittata and Spicy beefburgers and wedges. I changed my mind when shopping and swapped the frittata for a stir fry as easier to cook and don't want to set myself up to fail. I am not the best cook.

I have had fruit for breakfast, beans, salad and jacket potato for lunch and will have the beef stir fry for dinner after the weigh in.

muminthecity · 17/02/2014 19:18

Sounds good LMSunshine, I might pick up the magazine this week and have a look.

Blondes - I've never made the couscous cake but I did make the scan bran carrot cake recently, it's 1/2 syn for the whole cake and although I can't exactly call it delicious, it was nice for a quick sweet-fix when I was craving cake/chocolate!

muminthecity · 17/02/2014 19:22

I've been pretty good today, had a big day out with DD, we went to Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Kensington Gardens. Along the way, DD had an ice cream, a muffin and a mcdonalds Blush. I managed to resist though, and just had some vegetarian sushi from M&S (1 syn) and some fruit. So my menu for today:

B - Banana
L - Vegetarian Sushi, Ryvita minis (HEB) and fruit salad
D - Diet coke chicken, noodles and salad
S - I have a mini milkybar in the fridge with my name on it! (3.5 syns)

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/02/2014 19:26

i like the weetabix muffins for a cake :)

LMSunshine · 17/02/2014 19:50

Lost 3 1/2 pounds so very happy. Determined to stick to the SW rules more this week and be more aware of snacking on unhealthy food. Have my meal plan and healthy snacks at hand.
Muminthecity sounds like you had a nice day. I find the magazine good for the food suggestions, as mentioned above I'm not a great cook so the magazine is a real help for me.

Only1scoop · 17/02/2014 20:48

Hello....
Am I ok to join in....have my first meeting tmrw Blush

marceline · 17/02/2014 21:54

Well done muminthecity that's pretty good self control! I found it pretty hard today, felt hungry a lot, my couscous salad lunch was completely uninspiring. I was pretty good and had fruit and yoghurt instead of chocolate and crisps for snacks.

Not sure what to do tomorrow, I find snacks are my biggest downfall. I am in the office a lot and tend to snack during the day. Must find more free and low syn snacks!

marceline · 17/02/2014 21:55

Hello only1! Good luck tomorrow!

Only1scoop · 17/02/2014 23:33

Thanks Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2014 06:49

Welcome marceline and scoop

Syn free snacks

I live off mugshots - boiled eggs - blueberries - sliced ham

Kwym about work - I don't always chose what I eat in current job and don't think that helps lol

Love sw mag and get it delivered

Only1scoop · 18/02/2014 20:50

Thanks Blondes....weighed in today
Just working out my sins for food diary....Shock

muminthecity · 18/02/2014 20:57

Lost 1lb at WI tonight. Not great but ok considering my awful start to the week. Just treated myself to a custard slice, but that's it now, I'm determined to stick to plan 100% this week, I have 3lbs to go to get my 6 stone award and I want it sooo badly!

muminthecity · 18/02/2014 20:59

As for syn free snacks, I love mugshots too, the chicken noodle one is my favourite. I also like the salt and vinegar Ryvita minis, you can have them as a B choice and it feels like eating a bag of crisps - good late night snack for me!

Only1scoop · 18/02/2014 21:00

Wow that's really good

I have eaten so much pasta today I just can't see how I'm going to lose any....

12 syns first day....seems quite a lotConfused

TheWildOnes · 19/02/2014 16:28

Hi all, hope its ok for me to join. I have been doing SW for 5 weeks but dont go to group. I have lost 17lb in 5 weeks but have a lot more to go. I have also joined the gym and go 3 times a week.
Im finding SW really easy to follow and enjoying the food a lot. I really need to lose at least another 4 stone.

Only1scoop · 19/02/2014 17:20

17lb just wow.

Any top tops ....I only joined yesterday Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2014 18:07

b oats and blueberries
l sweet potato chicken and veg
t

dithering on tea .......

muminthecity · 19/02/2014 18:57

Welcome and well done WildOnes. Only1, I eat loads of pasta and still lose - that's the beauty of Extra Easy!

Thanks Blondes, I know a loss is always better than a gain but I'm always hoping for more!

Been good so far today:

B - Banana
L - Leftover diet coke chicken with salad
D - Spaghetti Bolognese with lots of vegetables
S - None yet - very unusual for me! Will probably have some fruit and a yoghurt later

Had some sunblush tomatoes with lunch which were 3 syns (they were in oil) but that's the only syns I've had.

Only1scoop · 19/02/2014 19:11

Thanks mumin

I'm eating so much I just don't know how I'm going to lose weight!

B natural yog and fruit
L nimble x2 with beans and egg
D huge plate of pasta with mushrooms tomatoes and 1 babybel

Should I be measuring beans and pasta? I think I'm getting carried away! Grin
