Welcome Disco and GM. You’re in good hands here!

So I am in the odd position of being awake but DS is fast asleep. I fed him at 18:30 after his bath and he went straight to sleep. Went to bed at 21:00 and plan was for DH to do the 22:00 feed and wake me for the handover feed at 02:00/02:30. I woke naturally at 03:00 (what is with that?!?!) and the house is still. Looked at our shared app and it seems that yes, there was a feed at 22:00 but also another full one at 00:00 so two hours early! So now I am wide awake for the last half hour wish huge sore solid boobs. Really need to feed him but damned if I will wake anyone! Wonder how much risk I have from mastitis for this?!

DryHeave · 04/12/2017 02:39

Now 4 days old. He fell asleep at 00:08 and only just woke up. I managed to resist the urge to poke him from time to time to see if he was still breathing but sadly I was so pumped/elated by him falling asleep and staying asleep in his cot that I could barely sleep myself.

GingerHanna · 04/12/2017 02:48

@DryHeave awww bless. Glad he slept more... completely understand about being too pleased/wired to sleep!

DS is now latched on. Such a relief. I heard movement in the house and was downstairs in a shot. DH was in shock when he saw my boobs!

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 03:13

@Sakura03 oh my days. You seem to be waist deep in dirty nappies over there...

Welcome @GMtoBe @NonStopDisco and @Kleokat and sorry if I've missed any other new joiners. Everyone is welcome here.

Feed #2 right on cue at 3am. I actually think I woke him. He was thrashing about in his bed and I assumed he was awake, but when I sleepily picked him up he opened his eyes and looked shocked like I'd just woken him. I changed his nappy (hurrah, remembered to do it before the 3am feed!) and he started crying.

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 03:13

Oh, and I don't think I have said it yet tonight.... I HATE this bed. Already getting back ache ffs.

NonStopDisco · 04/12/2017 03:59

Slept for about an hour, then a nappy change and back on the breast. DD lost a bit too much weight in first 5 days, so jumping on everything that looks like a feeding cue!

Jellybabie3 · 04/12/2017 04:24

Hi all. We are on feed #1 here although we stupidly went to bed late so doesnt feel like a long stretch.

Welcome newbies Smile

Jellybabie3 · 04/12/2017 04:26

OH no ds has his jabs tomorrow Sad dreading it

ValentineFizz · 04/12/2017 04:36

Hi to all nocturnal newcomers 😁

Just finishing feed 2 here but he's only taken about half his usual and is now asleep on my chest so doubt I will get 2.5 hour stretch... 🤔

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 04/12/2017 04:45

G'day all! not sure why I've gone for a greeting straight out of Neighbours circa 1987

So here we are on feed 2 (starting at 4). Feed 1 was at 1.45 I think, so not too bad, not as good as the two previous nights but still pretty ok for us.

I'm just catching up, so, welcome new people! I have a 1 month old DS so good to see some fellow newborns here.

Hashtag did your DH apologise? Hope tonight is proving better. Your account of 'the morning after' did make me smile though!

Ha yes Dryheave I get that about being elated, first time my DD did longer than 2 hours I spent it all gazing in wonder at her!

I'm starving. But after a three day cookie binge looking pointedly at Hashtag I need to STOP. Trying to have a few goodish weeks before Christmas kicks in. I've just had a Nakd bar but that doesn't count, right?

DH goes back to work tomorrow he might have mentioned it a thousand times. My dad is here to help out so I'm not on my own, but I've become used to DH sharing all the duties as much as I moan about him he's pretty good really It's a bit scary to think the countdown is now on for me to start solo parenting during the day.

Jellybabie3 · 04/12/2017 04:52

Anyone else.been so fixed on mn that you realise your baby is no longer latched and asleep??? Crap parenting going on here I feel

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 04:53

Feed #3
A little earlier than usual, maybe by 30mins to an hour but nothing massive. Feed #2 was quite short so I wasn't surprised he's checked in early.

^HashtagTiredDS: AIBU?
I don't ask for much in life, I'm pretty chilled compared with some babies I know. I let dm watch her tv programmes in the day, but I do like to be cuddled in return. What's so bad about that? She's only sat there doing nothing, so may as well be cuddling me. I reckon I doing her a favour anyway.
Sometimes I just like to chill, look around, play with a muzzy, chew my fingers. Oh! And I love making bubbles come out of my mouth, it's my new thing.
But at night time I still like those cuddles. I'm hungry and tired and I just want to get back to sleep and cuddles are so nice and cosy. Why can't I be cuddled all night? AIBU?? Dm can watch her tv programmes if she wants to; never does but I'm not stopping her.
I just want to be cuddles all day and all night. Seriously, I don't know what the problem is. AIBU?!^

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 04:59

Gidday @WhoAteAllthePercyPigs
Yes I think I dragged everyone down with me on the cookie binge. We all were so weak needed it.
You all wised up in time for the Stollen binge, though. But I'm with you, Percy, I said to dh today I need to stop eating crap. Then walked out the door to take dd to a 6yo birthday party and tanked up on sausage rolls and chocolate fingers. Must. Try. Harder.

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 05:00

Yes @Jellybabie3. Most feeds!

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 05:02

(At night)

Jellybean2017 · 04/12/2017 05:09

@Hashtagtired my DS could've written that AIBU 😂 he says YADNBU

Thinking about cookies again now!

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 05:20

Yes. It's probably a good thing that Bens cookies don't deliver to my area. It's a good thing I live out in the sticks so I don't have ready access to these restaurant delivery thingies too. I'd be skint and huge.

GingerHanna · 04/12/2017 05:53

I thought the last feed was a bit short. Tried to get him to take more but he was absolutely sparked out. Even a happy change didn’t do it.

Only lasted two hours until next feed. Tried to stretch it out a little and get him to settle but only got 15 minutes. Wish I could crack this wee hours to morning feeding mess.

theotherendofthesockportal · 04/12/2017 06:11

@Sakura03 the signs of reflux have been with us since the day DD was born. It stated with excessive hiccups, then she started choking on her bottles (I wasn't able to bf), then she started screaming between gulp of her bottle, finally the screaming really started.

She starting screaming on the evenings, and it came to a head ion Saturday when she screamed on and off for 13 hours and didn't sleep at all on this time. She now has raspy breathing from it and her voice sounds hoarse.

@HashtagTired you are not patronising at all! I really appreciate your words of support and comfort.

Jellybean2017 · 04/12/2017 06:39

I am so tired 😭 lazy day today!!

Lallypopstick · 04/12/2017 07:26

Hello to everyone old and new. A few wake ups for us, but all under 10 minutes from the start of feed to back asleep again. However, he thought that 5:45 was a good wake up time and decided to throw up after me trying to feed him back to sleep for a while. Lots and lots of vomit so our bed has had to be stripped. All that wasted milk!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 04/12/2017 07:31

😂😂😂 @Hashtag! My DS says YADDNBU! LTB- oh no wait, that's another thread...

@jellybabie3 totally- during feed 2 I was so transfixed by s thread which had descended into a slanging match about sleep training that DS was having to give loud snores to get my attention!

Hugs @otherendofthesockportal. Sounds like you are all really suffering. Reflux is an absolute bastard. I hope you get that appointment today and can get the gaviscon.

HashtagTired · 04/12/2017 07:58

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs haha. Indeed! I do wonder how many people take the advice from those kinda threads 😬

Lovingtyrells · 04/12/2017 08:00

DS will only sleep on my chest past couple of days. Really tempted to do the sleep training in a month when he will be over 4
Months as I’m so uncomfortable and still only getting 2 hour chunks at almost 14 weeks. The only thing is he still has wind at times and sickness so unsure if it would be too cruel. He just will.not.go.down.alone
co sleeping is often hourly wakes

Sakura03 · 04/12/2017 08:09

@theotherendofthesockportal - oh yeah the hiccups, he’s not had a day without hiccups... but he doesn’t cry like your lo... he has started to become quite fussy particularly in the evenings when latching on which means it’s a nightmare to get him to latch on properly but sometimes I think this is to do with him being overtired and not knowing what he wants.
We had a terrible night, ds wouldn’t settle for longer than 1 hr at a time, I reckon we had max 3 hours sleep, he’d slept loads doing the day but I hadn’t so I can’t wait to have a nap... once he’s fed I’m going to sort myself out with a strong coffee!
