Thread number four (I think).

Welcome to all past posters and any new ones who are also up at all hours!

Oh crap. Literally. 💩
I have been knocked out of my smug little smuggy tower and ds has just done a poo after a massive coma inducing feed. Just pausing for a moment whilst I see if there's anymore to come out. He tends to poo over a few minutes and don't want to get a spray on the nice plain white bed sheets 🙈

He stinks.

I feel for you ladies that have to deal with this most nights. He is a couple of days 'early' compared with his normal weekly schedule. But hey ho. Better out than in.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 00:43

I'll try not to flood the thread tonight! Thanks to all of you for your support Flowers

That said, it isn't looking good
DS woke at 12pm for a feed - earliest yet. That was after a fornula feed at 9, asleep at 10.

Every part of me aches with exhaustion.

Grimly resigned to a shit night...

Meepmoop · 15/12/2017 01:07

On hourly wake ups tonight and that's with us Co sleeping. I've given up on cot transfers tonight

actino · 15/12/2017 01:23

Just finished the first overnight feed and I'm expecting another sleeps night, Dd is just too awake.

My mom is in town still and we have the car tomorrow (dh taking train as it's his xmas do) so maybe I'll use these hours to make a plan for what we can do with the day.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 03:34

So I wrote a long post...but lost it because DS was thrashing about. Ffs!!!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 03:41

So I'll try again!

As predicted, bad night here. Feed 2 at 230. Been feeding for over an hour. Keeps coming off the boob and crying. I think he's had enough but then he wants to go back on? Right now stuck in a cycle of him thrashing about, coming off and on, snorting and crying. I've tried a dummy but he just won't take it. Help! I'm at my wits end! Does anyone know what might be going on? I have a suspicion he might have tongue tie, going to insist the HV checks on Monday.

I hate that he's so unsettled and unhappy, I just wish I knew what to do. I suspect he's extremely hungry but his digestive system can't keep up.

Ven83 · 15/12/2017 03:47

Honestly I'd rather deal with a night time nappy change than DH's après pub farts, good lord Confused

Ven83 · 15/12/2017 03:52

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs Sorry, my memory can't keep up - have you also checked the baby for reflux? Feeding all the time helps them deal with reflux pain, poor little munchkins. This page really drove it home for me to recognise the symptoms:
www.thesleeplady.co.uk/silent-reflux-tips/

Check for tongue tie but also for reflux if you haven't already. It could be both - it was for us.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 04:02

Lol Ven83!!

sleepycat13 · 15/12/2017 04:08

hi all
been a while since I have been on here as have been avoiding night time phone use in a bid to stay more sleepy. however tonight has been horrific. been awake since 1.30 am now (after going to be at 11) with a wide awake ds. he has fallen asleep at the boob a few times but every time I have tried to put him down he has woke again. even tried putting him down next to me and on me but nothing is working. have winded and nappy changed. and he is now just sat here smiling at me. don't know what else to do but I am sooooo tired

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 04:09

Thanks Ven. Yeah I've thought it could be reflux, thsnks for posting that link, really useful. He fits a few of the symptoms but not all? He was settling very well into his cot for the first month and can still go in it. So I'm not sure lying on his back is the issue. But he is very 'bubbly' especially when am feeding him. And he's definitely a sneezer! Hard to know if it's just a growth spurt or something like reflux. Want to rule it out so I'll ask the health visitor who will probably just give a patronising smile and tell me it's totally normal

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 04:17

Right. He's asleep on me. Going to attempt the cot transfer. Wish me luck!!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/12/2017 05:10

Well he slept for a grand total of...40 minutes! Back feeding again. Yawn.

AccrualIntentions · 15/12/2017 05:34

I'm managing to go longer between bottles at night now (midnight to 4:30am just now) it's getting her to sleep anywhere apart from on me in that intervening period! I did the basket transfer after 20 minutes hold and she stayed asleep...but within about half an hour is making the most godawful choking noises, like she's choking on air. Really not something I can sleep through and not something she ever does during the day when napping in the exact same basket. Babies are so weird.

actino · 15/12/2017 08:37

Just managed 3 hours of sleep by feeding her in her side then co sleeping. We even had a successful cot transfer after two hours.

Funny how she co slept tonight, but the night before was screaming at the same thing. I think it's because this time I let her fall asleep on her side (her preferred sleeping position) before I rolled her into her back.

Meepmoop · 15/12/2017 09:24

I think he may have slept a 5hour block last night after waking every hour until 3 but I'm sure that can't be right?
He was in my bed though.

I've had pins and needles in my arm/hand for an hour now not sure if I should be concerned?

Lovingtyrells · 15/12/2017 10:04

@Ven83 thanks for the link, my DS fits all the points on the list for reflux Sad

Still on very frequent wakeups at 15 weeks old, 20mins seems to be common at “bedtime” so tired.

@Meepoop I get the same after co sleeping as baby wants to put head on my arm, doesn’t sleep with it on the mattress anymore

AMagdalena · 15/12/2017 13:12

Sod it. Not going anywhere. Feel like I've been hit by a truck...Thanks to DD and DH sleeping like royal and me like their servant!

Meepmoop · 15/12/2017 15:31

DS please will you nap!!

It's my and DH Christmas party tonight so SIL and FIL are looking after him. However he won't fall asleep for his nap so I'm worried he's going to be an overtired mess when we leave.

Ven83 · 15/12/2017 16:11

I'm so tired, and DS is in my lap laughing at me after yet another 25 minute catnap. At least he's in a good mood...for now...

Jellybean2017 · 15/12/2017 16:15

Sleepy here too. He's asleep on my lap. I have put the heated blanket in the Sleepyhead with the intention of trying to transfer but don't know if I can be bothered as he will just wake up...

Meepmoop · 15/12/2017 16:27

He's asleep after 2hours of trying. Let's hope he has a decent nap.

Jellybean2017 · 15/12/2017 17:14

Transfer was unsuccessful, back on my lap!

Hope you have a good evening out meepmoop!

AMagdalena · 15/12/2017 18:58

DD might as well stay up for the hell of it because I won't sleep anyway.
My best friend is in labour and I have no idea what's going on 😣

Ven83 · 15/12/2017 19:23

DS is having a complete meltdown as soon as DH comes close Sad
