I've just got in bed with DS.
Had a lovely night out but worried I'm now going to pay for it. DS is all smiles so he's had a nice evening to.

Hope it's quiet as everyone has sleeping babies!

HashtagTired · 16/12/2017 01:00

Hi @Meepmoop I was just thinking the same. I hope for the parents sake that it's because babies have started to sleep a bit better now! Mine, however, is still sticking to his usual routine wake ups with no signs of extending his sleep patterns. Hey ho.
Glad you had a good night. I have had a couple of evenings out recently and on both occasions have been nervous about what the night might bring, but on both occasions it has been fine!

Hope you get a good night!!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 16/12/2017 02:07

Hi all! 15 mins into our first feed here so that's a better start for us. Let's see how the rest of the night goes!

Jellybean2017 · 16/12/2017 02:30

Had three hours 9-12 and then a quick feed and back to sleep til now, not bad hey. Just changed nappy and back to feeding! Only thing is he will still only sleep laying across me 😶 glad you had a good time meepmoop. I'm out tonight so hopefully DS will be just as happy..!

Meepmoop · 16/12/2017 04:15

Thanks all!

We've had a 2hour block in the cot but DS has decided that's all he's going to do in there.

DH appeared from his do around 1 and is spread out on the bed snoring so I'm reluctant to co sleep tonight. I foresee day napping for me and he can be in charge of DS when he's over his hang over.

Meepmoop · 16/12/2017 04:24

Just to reinforce not co sleeping, DH has just punched my arm in his sleep making it go dead. he got a very swift punch back!!

AccrualIntentions · 16/12/2017 04:33

We've had a blissful 4 hours when she slept in the cot before waking up and escaping from the swaddle (she's like houdini getting out of a straight jacket). Now had a change and feed and hoping I can get her to do another few hours...

Ceesadoo · 16/12/2017 05:42

Have been up hourly & more since he went down at 1030. Deaddd. I wish leap 4 would end. Even a 3 hour block sounds bliss right now.

HashtagTired · 16/12/2017 08:31

Oh no @Ceesadoo hope you've got a lazy day planned!
We are entering leap 4 as of tomorrow, according to the app. But who knows 😬

yolkybokey · 16/12/2017 09:47

I'm with you @Ceesadoo , leap 4 feels never ending...

DS has started getting hysterically over tired in the evenings as he refuses to go to sleep at his usual bedtime.

NinaMarieP · 16/12/2017 14:24

I think we've just come out of leap three, and that combined with the cold finally going has meant we've had two good nights in a row. He was in bed by 9.30, first feed around 3 and then next feed at 7 yesterday and 7.45 today. He's woken a couple of times in between but has settled fairly quickly so a great improvement on waking every 30 minutes or more! I hope it continues now.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 16/12/2017 14:26

Hope you get a chance to chill, @ceesado, sounds a tough night.

Not too bad here which gives me hope after a few very bad nights. He had a massive poo before bedtime so that seemed to settle him a bit! Annoyingly I feel more tired than ever today, but I'm not complaining!

What are people up to? We have our most sociable day in ages. Friends over for lunch and to meet baby, then heading to a Christmas party. Already feeling tired!

yolkybokey · 16/12/2017 15:04

The big news in the yolkey household today is that we have ordered DS a cot!!! ShockShockShock

Whether he'll sleep in it is another question, but the intent is there!

Jellybean2017 · 16/12/2017 18:31

I'm out for dinner tonight with friends, so DH first evening alone with DS! So I'm trying to express but can only get 2oz! Better not be late home!

@yolky hope you have success with the cot! We have about six places for DS to sleep but he will only settle for me or in the sling attached to DH 🙈

JohnnysMumma · 16/12/2017 18:46

Well I finally broke down after not sleeping for 5 months and did what I said I'd never do...I let him cry. The first night was awful. Last night was our second night and what do you know...he slept for 6 hours before wanting to feed and then another 4 hrs, then 2 hrs and woke up happily at 8am. I hope we did the right thing.

HashtagTired · 16/12/2017 20:02

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs it's great to do a bit of normal, and to have something to look forward to. Because I go to bed early each night to get some sleep, I was worried about attending evening commitments like work Christmas dinner etc. I did, and had the best time. I've now relaxed a bit more and arranged a few other things, including yoga and Pilates. Haven't done either before but classes are free at my gym and signed up. All in aid of my charity 'I hate my bed' and hoping yoga and Pilates will help sort out my back! It's good to feel good.

HashtagTired · 16/12/2017 20:04

@JohnnysMumma needs must. We did something similar with my now 5yo when she was 15 months ish. Last resort and bloody hard. Worked a treat though. We just had to wait to ensure she was well and healthy before doing it.

AMagdalena · 16/12/2017 21:07

@Jellybean Enjoy your evening out!

I am going shopping by myself tomorrow (and NOT food shopping Smile). Hopefully DD doesn't kick off with DH like the last time!

I don't judge people for sleep training their children. Needs must, absolutely. Sleep deprivation is awful for everyone.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 16/12/2017 22:17

@hashtag absolutely. Sleep is important but so is doing things you enjoy, and feeling not just like a milk machine mum but like you again. I've had such a good day. Really enjoyed putting on a new dress, first item of clothing I've bought in ages, catching up with good friends and even enjoying a glass or two of prosecco! Physically I'm tired but mentally I feel revitalised. Good call on the Pilates etc, hope it helps with your back.

Gearing up for the night ahead. DS currently almost asleep on my chest, really hoping for another ok night...

Meepmoop · 16/12/2017 23:04

Hope everyone's evenings out have gone well.

We're only now doing 'bedtime' however DS fell asleep on me downstairs so I've been pinned to the sofa. Me and DH has a nice quiet evening together though which was nice.

Meepmoop · 17/12/2017 01:16

Soo tonight's not going well.

Hope everyone's having better luck than me

actino · 17/12/2017 02:11

We're having an entirely typical night, meaning Dd feeds to sleep then wakes up squirming a few minutes later desperate for another feed.

She's currently sleeping on my chest which is extremely adorable.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 17/12/2017 02:22

Present and correct, reporting for duty!

First feed at 1.45. Not bad but am soooooo tired. Just trying to settle him and praying for more sleep...

Meepmoop · 17/12/2017 02:35

So far I've managed two lots of half an hour sleep. It's looking like co sleeping is on the cards. Doing one last 20minute hold then transfer attempt.

I've found an online scrabble game so that's currently keeping me awake

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 17/12/2017 03:12

Ouch @meepmoop poor you. Realky hope this transfer works for you. DS did not want to go back into his cot. So given him another feed (I swear that boy is a bottomless pit) and now on another 20 min wait. Yawn....
