@theotherendofthesockportal That’s an amazing amount of sleep! I hope it’s the start of something for you.

I’m going to say it quietly but we might be out of the 4 month regression. Two wake ups between 8-7. Hopefully I’ll stop waking up as often, expecting him to be awake too!

Ven83 · 11/12/2017 09:05

We had a good night, a 4 hour shift followed by a 3 hour one, with just a short 20 minute feed in between - but then I couldn't sleep! Ugh! I've been awake from 4 am for no reason at all Sad

Ven83 · 11/12/2017 09:10

Also, DS seems to have stopped pooping over night, which makes my life a bit easier. He used to shart every 20 minutes or so in the early days, it was the worst. Now he poos about 4-5 time a day.

HashtagTired · 11/12/2017 09:14

Yup. Just one poo 💩 a week over here. He did have a couple of runny ones after his last jabs but the was unusual. But they are epic.

We didn't have a good night here. He was quite unsettled from midnight. Wondering and hoping if it's a one off.

He's been doing that nipple catapulting thing again and it really flipping hurts! He's really clamping down, too! I have to pull him off when he does it 🙄

HashtagTired · 11/12/2017 09:14

@NinaMarieP yes when Ds does a poo the nappy is much less absorbent. I found that with dd too.

Jellybean2017 · 11/12/2017 09:23

@theotherendofthesockportal that's fantastic! Well done baby sock 😂

DS did four hours first part of night. Then up to feed every few hours. So not bad! Have stayed cosy in bed this morning. I am planning to get up after his first nap. It's too cold!!!

Jellybean2017 · 11/12/2017 09:25

@ven83 DS is still doing sharts at 18 weeks 🙈 hoping they stop soon as he sometimes gets a sore bum due to the frequency of them. They also seem to be worse after each set of jabs!!

Meepmoop · 11/12/2017 10:17

We’re usually once week here to. Although it’s been much more since he’s been ill.

Still not any better so of to the doctors at 11

yolkybokey · 11/12/2017 10:46

So jealous of the one a week poo-ers!! DS is another one averaging 3 a day, great big ones too 😂😂

He finally went to sleep with me holding him on the sofa at 5 this morning, I stayed awake watching Netflix and got back to bed after DH got up for work at 6.30, so my arms were aching! I generally try and make sure DH gets a decent sleep when he has to get up for work but I do get very jealous of his 8 hours....

HashtagTired · 11/12/2017 11:17

All this talk of poo 💩 and he's come early! Last one was weds so a couple of days early. That said, he was very unsettled last night and it was a very runny poo this morning. Up the back, jobby. He was also sick last night but I assumed it was just a one off. He could be under the weather. Poor mite. Cuddles today.

Cuddles are the best medicine.

Sakura03 · 11/12/2017 11:24

Thanks for all the comments peeps, I think I’ll start a mantra saying “this won’t last forever - keep calm and breathe”...
So we stayed un the lounge, me on the sofa and ds in an armchair pushed against the sofa, we got 2 hours sleep, it’s been well over a week since I last had that in one go apart from a couple of times when my dp has sent me off to get some sleep.
So this morning I was determined to have a go at using my pump, made three attempts which got sabotaged by ds but finally managed approx 10 on each boob and got 1oz, didn’t seem a lot but I guess you build it up? Any breast pumping experts around?? Anyway I was worried pumping might empty my boobs and ds waking up wanting to feed which sure enough happened but the milk is still flowing so that’s good.
Miserable weather today, off to weigh in clinic this afternoon. Tomorrow I’ll need to go into town to collect a Christmas outfit that I bought online from mothercare. I’ll will be my first time going into town on my own which involves going by bus, I’m a little worried mainly because we have no feeding/sleeping pattern yet but there are cafes near by so I’ll just have to go there and feed/change my ds. It seems a little scary but I’m sure it’ll be fine... I’ve never done breastfeeding without all my cushions though so that will be interesting😊 wish me luck.

Sakura03 · 11/12/2017 11:26

@HashtagTired oh bless him, I hope he is okay.

Jellybean2017 · 11/12/2017 11:27

I'm back on duty with my little nap fighter. Why oh why can't I put him down in his cot?! I waited the twenty minutes earlier and went to put him down (on his warmed up mattress I might add) and his eyes flew open. Saturday was definitely a one off 😭 so disappointed as I had visions of being able to actually do a few things around the house / relax in the bath while he napped. I suppose it's not yet meant to be.

Jellybean2017 · 11/12/2017 11:30

@sakura03 good luck with your outing, I'm sure it will go well 😊 it's daunting the first few times though. I still get nervous he will do a mega poo 💩 while we are out! You soon learn the best places for feeding and changing though!

Sakura03 · 11/12/2017 12:22

Thank you @Jellybean2017😊
I’m going to warm up ds’ mattress when we get up during the nights to see if that will help but yeah I can’t get mine to nap in his cot either... I’m dreaming of a foot soak and a face mask....

Ven83 · 11/12/2017 12:28

Uh so tired of fighting tooth and nail to get DS to nap beyond the dreaded 25th minute mark...

AMagdalena · 11/12/2017 12:43

On nap duty after a crappy night... Hmm
Just put her down for a nap. Despite my best efforts there were teard, but she's finally asleep.

yolkybokey · 11/12/2017 13:27

@Sakura03 good luck for your outing! I remember I was so nervous the first time by myself, now I hardly think about it! It takes practise to get used to BFing in public, I recommend practicing a few positions at home!

In terms of pumping, it does definitely become more productive the more you do, 1oz is good for a first attempt!! I find if I get organised enough, the best time is after getting up in the morning, once DS has had a bit.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 11/12/2017 13:29

Hey all. Exhausted after a morning of shopping with both children. My mum was there too but my goodness it was hard flipping work!! We have a buggy board which makes steering and pushing rather challenging. DD was fine until she decided to have a massive meltdown right in the middle of the shopping mall. I can't lift her and neither can mum, so we had to sort of half drag her along. Had to cut the shopping trip in half but I did manage to get presents for DH so not a waste of time! DS slept angelically in his pram apart from a screaming fit in M&S. Don't think I'll be going shopping with both of them for a while!

So. Very. Tired. Trying to get DS down for his nap so I can nap too...

Jellybabie3 · 11/12/2017 14:02

Hi all. Random question but any ideas what would be good gift and outing for daddys birthday in January? Ds will be 3 months old. Dh has taken a friday off work so we have 3day weekend. Anyone know whats dooable at that age? I'd rather stick together than leave ds with a babysitter

AMagdalena · 11/12/2017 14:57

Jellybabie Depends on your ds really and what he can cope with. DD could manage a lunch out, shopping, nice walk at this age. Evening were out of the question as she was too overtired to manage much, but she woukd not nap in the pram for longer than 33 mins (managed well over an hr yesterday).

HashtagTired · 11/12/2017 20:41

How about a nice takeaway and a film?

HashtagTired · 11/12/2017 20:41

Or a week me away to somewhere like Center Parcs?

AMagdalena · 11/12/2017 21:14

So not ready for tonight.

Jellybean2017 · 11/12/2017 21:25

Centre parcs sounds a good idea!

Not ready either @AMagdalena. Naps haven't been good today 🙈
