@AMagdalena I’m not either Sad

Jellybabie3 · 11/12/2017 21:37

Hmm takeaway and movie could be good. Or a meal out depending on DS mood. Hmmm

Lovingtyrells · 11/12/2017 21:49

Ditto. Can’t face it ! Only cat naps all day. DS finally gave in on my lap half an hour ago not in night clothes so waiting to change him when he wakes up.

GimbleInTheWabe · 11/12/2017 22:35

Guess who's back...
Hi everyone! I've been absent as I have been having some actual human sleep, sorry to brag. DS had got into a pattern of going down at 11ish and waking at around 5am for a feed and then at 7 for another, after which I'd put him on my chest to sleep for another 2 hours or so as his congestion would keep him awake then. Anyway I have a feeling this magical pattern will be shattered tonight as DS had his 8 week monster jabs today, with added vomit on me and the nurse 👌🏼 anyone know any coping strategies? He basically slept all day since, waking only to cry (looking st me like I'd done the ultimate betrayal to him) and feed. DP has managed to get a smile out of him since though. He's now had all 3 of his delicious calpol doses so I'm hoping for the best! On the plus side he weighed 5.75kg Grin

AccrualIntentions · 11/12/2017 22:37

I'm ready. I have some nice new pyjamas, I have snacks, and if DD stays awake half the fecking night again, so be it. Although actually she had a massive poo earlier and now seems a lot calmer as a result. Perhaps last night's shenanigans were partly the result of constipation discomfort.

Meepmoop · 11/12/2017 22:43

Thought I would try a white noise app to see if that would help, no such luck. DS has woke less than an hour later.

theotherendofthesockportal · 11/12/2017 23:51

@GimbleInTheWabe we have our 8 week jabs tomorrow which I'm not looking forward to. Poor DD has caught my chest infection, poor mite.

Sakura03 · 12/12/2017 00:14

@AccrualIntentions I love a new pyjamas!!!
Ds is 4 weeks today and weights 3.7kg (was 2.9kg on 23 Nov) so relieved as with him feeding so often and being so fussy and almost hysterical particularly when feeding in the evenings I have been keen to see what his weight was like.
I did give him a dummy when I was getting him ready to leave the house as he was so clingy and screamed whenever I put him down. Once we got downstairs and moving I took it off him. I’ve just tried getting him settled and we lasted 20 minutes in the bedroom, the dummy did nothing... he’s now fallen asleep with me....

Sakura03 · 12/12/2017 02:46

So we are awake again... ds did a massive poo as per usual.
I forgot to say in my last post that dp thinks that it's my own fault that ds doesn't want to settle in the cot as he likes being held by me and because I've let him sleep on my chest or lap we'll now have trouble getting him to nap/sleep in the cot. I got quite annoyed with dp as ds is only 4 weeks old and sometimes just wants to be close to me (or dp for that matter)...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 12/12/2017 03:55

Sakura, tell DP to Google fourth trimester and keep his opinion to himself! Babies need to be held especially when they're so young. It's absolutely the right thing to do. Some need it more than others and it's the most natural thing in the world to respond to that need.

Another one with new pyjamas! M&S cotton, when did I get so sexy Grin

Not too bad a night here. DS slept from 930 till 330 so am pleased with that. Hoping he'll go off again after feeding...

HashtagTired · 12/12/2017 05:05

He just slept for 3.5 hours! Unheard of in these parts. I have just had some delicious sleep so feeling. Ok. Just fed him and now about to put him back. Hopefully he'll sleep for another chunk now 😬

Meepmoop · 12/12/2017 06:25

We’ve managed cot sleeping tonight! Plenty of wake ups but he went back.

He’s coughed himself wide awake now though, crossing my fingers that he’ll go back to sleep

AccrualIntentions · 12/12/2017 06:39

@Sakura03 my DD is 2 days older than yours and she absolutely has to be held to go to sleep. So many times I've got her to sleep on me then put her down in the crib and she'll wake up within minutes. She'll nap in there during the day but sleeps on my chest at night at least 50% of the time.

Not too bad a night here. She was mostly asleep (or at least peaceful) from 10 till midnight, then we had a bit of messing on and crying until 01:30 but after that she slept till 06:00. We don't have to be up till 08:45 so hoping to get another couple of hours now.

Jellybean2017 · 12/12/2017 07:23

Not too bad again here. Not sure if the constant white noise is helping him sleep better. Still in my bed but I managed to sneak away for a wee at 4am and he didn't wake! Looks like another wintry duvet day! Once again I'm glad it's winter while DS is so little. I'd feel rubbish being cooped up inside if it was warm and sunny outside. Don't feel so lazy when it's cold.

AMagdalena · 12/12/2017 15:51

DD is unputdownable as per usual.
I am going to have to sleep train her in a couple months because my patience is wearing thin (no cio or cc).

Jellybean2017 · 12/12/2017 16:48

DS is the same @AMagdalena. I have spent all day holding him aside from the odd ten minutes. What other sleep training options are there?

Ven83 · 12/12/2017 18:32

I think my DS is starting to teeth, can this be? Shock He's only 11 weeks! But he's grouchier than usual, drooling like a bulldog and stuffing whatever he comes across of into his mouth. I can't see anything on his gums tbh, but I don't even know what I'm looking for.

AMagdalena · 12/12/2017 18:57

@Jelly There is PUPD or gradual retreat. Very gentle methods.

@Ven83 Could be a developmental leap as well? DD was the same around the 12 week mark and I thought it was teething. She was mardy, drooling, constantly putting fingers in her mouth and wouldn't feed properly.

Ven83 · 12/12/2017 19:06

@AMagdalena Could be, you're right. Well, he's really into his dummy, which only occasionally interested him before, and he's enthusiastically chewing on my finger right now, which makes me think there's something happening with his gums. But maybe it's also a new game for him. He is napping more and dozing off more easily today, possibly because of all the dummy sucking.

Lovingtyrells · 12/12/2017 19:46

Another unputdownable here , had 2 naps all day which lasted 5 and 10 mins :(
People say don’t try to hold to sleep then transfer but “awake and drowsy” does not exist ! Screaming in cot straight away is more realistic.

Meepmoop · 12/12/2017 20:23

I’m also sure awake to sleep is a myth. DS’s either asleep or screaming.

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/12/2017 23:38

My poor DD had her 8 week jabs today. She is now crying every time I put her down even if I'm sure she is asleep! This does not bode well.

Sakura03 · 13/12/2017 02:17

Ds and I went on our first shopping trip today which involved a bus journey into town. He did so well, he slept for 2 1/2 hours. He slept again a couple of times during the evening which now means that he's wide awake we went to bed at 1am and again at 2 am....I think I need to go to bed with him earlier otherwise I won't get much sleep...
Plan for the morning is to go to breastfeeding drop in as I feel his latch is getting worse particular when he is fussy and almost fighting the nipple. Almost every night I think about switching to formula...

HashtagTired · 13/12/2017 02:25

Feed #1
He's been a bit fussy these last couple of days. Not following WW at all really. My dd did to the day, but him not so much. He's really finding his feet (literally) and has been kicking a lot. Also straightening his posture (arching his back when lying down) when I'm trying to feed. Or if I gave him over my shoulder winding him he's kicking his legs like he's trying to climb up. It's quite different to his normal chilled self.

No plans tomorrow yet. Might take him swimming.

Plus I've started to eat crap again. Need to be better.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 13/12/2017 03:52

Meh. Tired. Feed 1 was at 1.30 which is earlier than usual for us. Then he didn't really settle and now it's feed 2. Sleep has definitely been getting worse since he was born. Thought it was meant to improve a bit - well at least until the 4 month regression mark!
