Sorry to hear there are some crap nights on the making. I hope by the last hours silence that it means your all sleeping.

I am on feed number 1. Ds didnt get much sleep this afternoon and surprisingly just pulled a 5 hour sleep. Stupid me expected him to wake after 2hours so I didnt cash in early enough. I've just given him his first dose of doc prescribed juice. See if it makes a difference to his painful wind. Bloody tricky fiddling with syringes in the night but worth those few extra mins if it means extra hours sleeping!

HashtagTired · 22/11/2017 01:19

Feed #2
I didn’t cash in early enough either. I should have got my head down straight after the last feed but an amazon Black Friday email came out and distracted me. I’ve been researching wireless earphones for the past hour to see if the deals are any good. I won’t make the same mistake this time!

GimbleInTheWabe · 22/11/2017 01:40

Just finished feed #1 and I’m now playing the dangerous game of ‘hold up baby so milk can digest but don’t fall asleep yourself’. Catchy title hey?!

@HashtagTired if you can get them in the sale then I have and can recommend the bose quiet comfort 35s (think that’s what they’re called). They’re wireless noise cancelling headphones and they are amazing. The charge lasts ages and the sound quality is fab but they are pricey. Not so good for running in though if that’s a consideration, they’re a bit too bulky for that.

HashtagTired · 22/11/2017 01:44

@GimbleInTheWabe I was tempted by a pair of B&O ones. I like the style of the over ear headphones 🎧 because my ears are quite small and I don’t find in ear ones very good, but I really want to use them for the gym and I think I’ll get too hot with them on. Tricky because if I don’t try, I’ll never know. But it’s an expensive purchase if I don’t use them!
I’ll take a look at the bose ones too 👍🏻

mummarosie1 · 22/11/2017 02:12

Thanks for all the supportive replies RE dads wanting to hand back baby to mum! Glad to know I am not the only one that felt like this. DP and I talked it out and I hope that I will be able to support him more now to be able to persevere and learn his own ways to soothe her.

Hope everyone is having a good night, have just had feed #1 here and heading back to sleep.

0htooooodles · 22/11/2017 02:13

Awake with my 16 week old son after he had his last lot of jabs. Raging temp and really unsettled Sad, will be a fun school run on next to no sleep Hmm

Jellybean2017 · 22/11/2017 02:19

Hey 0htooooodles that doesn't sound fun. My DS has his last lot of jabs next week 🙈 hope you manage to get some sleep.
We are on feed two. 😴

Feed #3
Ffs
I knew tonight would be rubbish. Every hour so far.

Toonewtobehaving2 · 22/11/2017 03:21

Feed #1 here. He did wake around 11 as he'd managed to cover his face with the swaddle edge. Queue panic from me, but he was totally fine. With a quick readjustment and some patting he went back to sleep thankfully! I'm worried about my supply around that time as he hasn't fed around them for well over a week.

Jellybean2017 · 22/11/2017 03:37

Aaand up again. Changed nappy, screamed house down. Feeding again and hoping he will sleep more. We also seem to be up every hour or so 🙈

OP posts:
HashtagTired · 22/11/2017 03:45

He’s sleeping on my chest. He’s not waking for feeding, he’s waking because he’s unsettled with wind and has a blocked nose. Currently sat up having chest cuddles. He’s so cuddly. He has his arms around me like he’s giving me a big hug 🤗.
Back is aching now. Need to move but he will probably wake. Sigh. but I can’t stay like this for long.

Sakura03 · 22/11/2017 03:46

Thankyou @NinaMarieP I had no idea, so much to learn so I’m really grateful that I can ask questions here😊
First #feed of the night. Ds went to sleep at 11pm and at 3 am we decided to wake him up for a feed, This is a first time ever at 8 days old!! I was worried he might not sleep tonight as he slept more than he usually does doing the day but again stayed attached to me all evening.

Sorry to hear some of you have had bad nights and have dh’s winding you up.
If we get a good start tomorrow I’m considering going to a breastfeeding drop in in the morning.

0htooooodles · 22/11/2017 03:47

Well, I’m still awake and being used as a small persons pillow. Worst thing? I can hear my husband snoring from here Angry. What’d I give to be in bed asleep Sad

LadyoftheLake123 · 22/11/2017 03:53

Hello! Can I join?? Feed #1 here with 7 week old DS, slept since 10.30 (with brief wake around 11.30, quickly sorted out by Ewan the Sheep - we're a fan of his front left leg!)

Sooo much better than last night's much more frequent wakes so am feeling hopeful! Now just need to get him back off to sleep...

Jellybabie3 · 22/11/2017 04:40

Feed number 2 here. Been listening to ds wriggle and grunt for an hour. Poor little mite.

Anyone know what age they can control wind??

Sorry some of you are on 1 hour wakes tonight....we seem to go in cycles huh??

I'm now scanning Amazon while my boob is devoured noisily. Like having a snuffling pig.

Now hes done a poo.

NinaMarieP · 22/11/2017 04:48

We had a poo done halfway through boob #2 so two nappy changes this feed and we’ve been up well over an hour. He’s finally asleep though so I’m going to try to move him soon 🤞

Jellybabie3 · 22/11/2017 04:53

Second nappy here too Blush

Jellybean2017 · 22/11/2017 04:58

DS has a very noisy tummy tonight. Wind I guess. He wriggles and writhes when I lay him down. So I have got him laying on my tummy. Guess I'm staying awake now then 🙈

Haven’t posted on here for a while. I posted about 5 weeks ago about baby’s tongue tie (leading to poor feeding and sleep) - still had screaming after feeds post revision and very fragmented sleep due to endless wriggling and grunting.
Pushed with doctors for ranitidine and dd is sooooo much better! Sleep is improving as feed happens properly (one feed tonight, started an hour ago mind you and she’s now on my chest) and I am finally starting to enjoy it at 11 weeks! Hope you’re all doing ok, hang in there. xx

theotherendofthesockportal · 22/11/2017 05:36

I was so annoyed with my husband last night that it affected my sleep. DD was asleep when he got home from work yesterday evening, so after 2 hours he prodded her to wake her up because he wanted a cuddle. I’ve told him that he is a dickhead, he won’t be doing it again.

We haven’t done too badly, slept from 12-5 tonight. Well DD has, I’ve been awake seething with rage.

Jellybabie3 · 22/11/2017 05:52

welcome back @SK12345. Glad your doing better. How long did it take for the ratinidine to kick in? My Ds was given it by doc yesterday so just had second dose. Albeit the first was puked up.

@theotherendofthesockportal i know how you feel. Me and dh have had a few arguments like this. He wants to play with him. I now say fine, wake him but you can do night shift....

Toonewtobehaving2 · 22/11/2017 05:54

Feed #2 here. I'm refusing to accept this is getting up!!

NinaMarieP · 22/11/2017 06:19

He lasted 30 minutes in his snuzpod and has refused to settle even in my arms since. Falls asleep for 2 minutes then wakes and starts howling again so I’m feeding him again to see if it helps.

Lallypopstick · 22/11/2017 06:48

@0htooooodles the 16 week injections really knocked us out too. I’ve never seen so much baby vomit in my life! We’re sleeping better now but as we’re still in Leap 4 / 4 month regression we’re not getting the long stretches we used to have.

GimbleInTheWabe · 22/11/2017 07:02

The magic 5 hr stretch came back! Currently on feed #2 after a solid chunk of delicious zzzs still feel knackered though.

I always forget to pee before I feed DS in the night and then sit there stuck under the cutest little dictator thinking arid desert thoughts.

What time does everyone else wake up? DS is my first, so I don’t have to get up to look after any other kiddies (and those if you who do are seriously badass) so we usually sleep in until about 10 most days, depending on how DS is obvs. Always makes me feel lazy but then usually I need the extra hours in the morn.

@HashtagTired have you started back at the gym then? I have my 6 week check tomorrow and, assuming all is well, I really want to start upping my fitness, especially since bfing seems to mean I’m loosing lots of weight, feel like I have to cash it in whilst I can ha
