Hope everyone finds the new thread 😂 and new chatterboxes are welcome to join us and battle through the night feeds together (with or without the assistance of EBLL [Ewan's back left leg!) 🐏

@ceesadoo don't forget instagram only shows a tiny snapshot in time 😊 they are probably just surviving the rest of the time too 😊

Ds has just woke after another 3 and a half hour sleep. That's after the six he had earlier. Not complaining obviously but god i am confused. He was overtired? Seriously contemplating trying to keep him awake longer in the day - not to hysteria obviously!!

HashtagTired · 02/12/2017 09:11

Oh my gosh, my boobs are so sore this morning after ds' all night bender 😩

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 02/12/2017 10:07

Hi gang. Cake to those who had bad nights. Hope you get through the day ok.

Actually a good night here (always feel guilty typing those words on this thread but guess we need to take them where we can get them!) After last night it certainly couldn't have been worse. We made it out to town to see Christmas lights dozed up on painkillers and it was really lovely. DD was in her element and DS slept the entire time in his pram, the poppet. Had been so worried he'd kick off. Think the fresh air must have helped because he woke at 230am and went straight down again after a feed and then 630.

I'd like to say I feel restored today, but although my neck feels a bit better, I can feel another cold coming on, grr.

@hashtag we had the same problem with lack of a headboard on our bed for me to rest against whilst feeding. So I've moved to our spare room, the bed has a solid wooden headboard. Hoping that will be better for my back. It's no wonder I did my neck in! I'd ideally bring a comfy chair up but our bedrooms are small so no room.

What's everyone's plans for today? Shopping here then chilled out afternoon with a Christmas movie.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 02/12/2017 10:10

@ceesado if you looked at my Instagram you'd think I was slaying at this parenting malarkey! That's because only the good photos go up, filtered to hide my eye bags and sheer exhaustion.

NinaMarieP · 02/12/2017 11:11

This morning has not gone very well either. Would only take half his bottle at 7, then tiny bits on and off after that.

Was definitely hungry so ended up on the boob where he did 3 minutes then got hysterically over tired. He'd only been awake an hour and a quarter!! A few weeks ago 1.5 hours was his limit but lately he had been pushing that to 2-2.5 hours.

AMagdalena · 02/12/2017 11:46

I really don't understand my child.
Was fighting the breast and sleep all day yesterday and just now she happily fed and is now napping (needless to say, I am stuck under her).
The fussiest baby ever!!!

AMagdalena · 02/12/2017 11:47

As for my plans, I am still full of cold, so absolutely no plans 😕

HashtagTired · 02/12/2017 12:30

Runny poo! Runny poo alert! 😬
(Him, not me...)

AMagdalena · 02/12/2017 13:11

Hashtag I sympathise. DD has already pooed in the bouncy chair...3rd time this week

Jellybean2017 · 02/12/2017 14:03

DH and DS are asleep on the sofa while I keep an eye on them. My friend is arriving soon to babysit! Typical DS is asleep now! He will need feeding when he wakes so doubt we will have long for shopping. Oh well still be nice to get out! We have friends coming round for takeaway this evening so don't know how tonight will go 🙈 no doubt I will be here haha and by that point we will definitely need a new thread! We need a new title 😂

DS is sooooo sleepy today so i am indoors under a blanket eating mince pies and drinking tea (yes!). DH is putting the outside Christmas lights up (yes were those people) in the rain. Going to xmas light switch on tonight but we dont have far to go so should go smoothly. Then binging on pizza whilst watching the xfactor final and I'm a celebrity.

Living. The. Dream.

Tomorrow we have no plans so we are camping out together on the couch with any luck. Usually that means daddy takes over for abit so I can read/do nails/actually brush my hair as long as a I am within arms reach in case DS starts crying and DH panics

Jellybabie3 · 02/12/2017 15:15

Still so jealous of the weekly poo #HashtagTired. DS does 5 a day every day like clockwork atm

theotherendofthesockportal · 02/12/2017 16:22

DD has been awake since 10.30 and cries whenever I put her down. As s result I haven't eaten this afternoon!

ValentineFizz · 02/12/2017 16:42

@sock l got my breakfast at 3pm today, didn't actually finish it til 4pm! 😂

DS had a good night and great morning, then turned into a clingy nightmare when DH went out at 1pm 🙄

All plans to go out have therefore gone out the window and I'm firmly planked on the couch with tea and a huge bag of Maltesers.... 😋

HashtagTired · 02/12/2017 17:11

Ds has been clingy and unusually cry-y (I know a lot of you have the dreaded evenings when little ones just cry the entire time, well I've been lucky with my little chap as he hasn't been like that. But today since about 1pm he's been clingy and wanting either feed or comfort feed. I've been sat here cuddling him and feeding him since around 2pm, whilst trying to entertain my (very patient, considering) 5 year old dd from a distance. She's not allowed near me for fear of her waking ds.
So far we've watched polar express and now in dispicable me 3.

I'm not sure if it's the cold, linked with the runny poo, or whether his 12 week jabs yesterday have anything to do with it 😏

AccrualIntentions · 02/12/2017 17:18

DD has been suspiciously quiet today. We went out for a walk this morning where she slept the whole time, and she went down perfectly for a nap about 3 hours ago...I've managed to have a bath, dye my hair and make a lasagne as well as sort all the housework. Probably means she's gearing up for evening grumpiness again.

Jellybean2017 · 02/12/2017 17:36

We have had a good day so far. Made it into town and enjoyed a gingerbread spiced latte (almond milk!) and mince pie (vegan/dairy free from Caffè Nero if you're a fan @AMagdalena or anyone else dairy free dieting!)

Did a bit of Xmas shopping. DS asleep on me in the sling at the moment. Looking forward to a takeaway with friends just hope we can keep DS happy and asleep for a few hours so I can have a small glass of wine! 😊

6monthsandcounting · 02/12/2017 19:36

Um...so I know I don't technically have a newborn, but I do have a baby that wakes every one, two or 3 hours. I consider every 3 hours a great night these days 🤔
Can I gatecrash?!

theotherendofthesockportal · 02/12/2017 20:03

@HashtagTired I'm going through the same as you. DD has been awake since 10.30 and all she does is scream and feed. This has been our toughest day so far :(

AMagdalena · 02/12/2017 20:07

@6monthsandcounting Ofc you can join ;)
How old is your LO? My DD is 17 weeks and a great non-sleeper. A 3-hr stretch is good in our house.

HashtagTired · 02/12/2017 20:17

Yup. Welcome @6monthsandcounting
Mine is 13 weeks tomorrow and also a great waker-upperer

People ask me if he's a 'good sleeper'. Truth is, yes he is. Some of the ladies on here have such battles getting their little ones to sleep but I don't have that. He just wakes up. A lot. He feeds little and often. A feed would take 10-15 mins. Then a quick cuddles then he's back asleep. He just does that every 1-3 hours 🙄.

Lovingtyrells · 02/12/2017 20:18

Hi @6monthsandcounting mine is 13 weeks and 3 hours has probably only ever happened a handful of times since birth,
Mostly the max is 2hr so I can really sympathise.

I went out for dinner today and DS was not
Too bad, he has started crying whenever he is held vertically though, don’t know if this is a painful gut or behavioural. Still no
Cot action either.

Lovingtyrells · 02/12/2017 20:19

@HashtagTired my DS seems like this,
Can get to sleep fairly quickly in arms but then wakes up on put down very quickly. Nightmare!

HashtagTired · 02/12/2017 20:21

Oh wow @theotherendofthesockportal sound like a rough day.

I'm heading for another rough night I think. Combination of:
a) ds recovering from cold
b) jippy tummy (2(yes, 2!!) runny poos today). He's normally a one-a-week kinda guy.
c) had his jabs yesterday. Might be feeling stuff from that
d) stormy period in wonder weeks right now 😩
e) didn't sleep well last night. Maybe overtired today.

Could be any combination of the above, all or none.

Who the hell really knows 🤷‍♀️
