Can I join in? DD is 9 days old today. This is our 4th night at home, after a couple of hospital readmissions. Think this was worst night yet. She will not settle to sleep anywhere except on me. I managed an hour at about 4am but now here we are again with her seeming dead asleep, but the second I transfer her anywhere she'll wake up and scream at me. Some of your routines sound bliss to me right now!

Lallypopstick · 21/11/2017 06:55

Welcome AccrualIntentions and congratulations on your little one. A lot of us have been / are going through similar with not being able to put baby down to sleep. Mine didn’t have a nap out of my arms for 11 weeks!

@NinaMarieP I really hope the sleep regression is coming to an end for us too. Last night was loads better but still not as good as it used to be. Progress though!

I can’t remember who was asking about taking the Snuzpod for a weekend away. We didn’t for a weekend away at 10 weeks and he has the best two consecutive nights sleep ever in the travel cot, with the cocoonababy in. Even though I was anxious as our bed was so high so I couldn’t easily see or hear him.

AMagdalena · 21/11/2017 07:33

Lallypopstick My DD doesn't seem as interested in feeding durig the day either...Reflux doesn't help either.

We had 2 wake-ups last night. Not bad.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 21/11/2017 08:14

Morning all! Not posted much as DS was faffing loads on the boob last night so every time I tried to type I had to reattach him.

Two feeds. 12.15, 4am. Which doesn't sound too bad actually, but he was wake for ages after both. Feeling exhausted.

That's exciting @jellybabie about the sign off! You've been through so much, hope it all goes well so you can move forward. I can't wait fir mine!

Thanks for the support yesterday. Feeling a bit better, being ill and tired sucks as we all know! DS seems better although was suffering with reflux yesterday, we'll see what today brings...

Welcome Accrual, you're in the very early days, hang on in there - all totally normal if torturous

Love the Christmas chat, keep it coming! Might do a Christmas/thank you card marathon today...

mummarosie1 · 21/11/2017 08:28

@AccrualIntentions welcome! Sorry to hear your LO was unwell.

Just wanted to share that my DD was also in an out of hospital for 2 weeks and was so difficult to feed/settle (and everything!) during that time and to a few days after, before she settled quite well and I could clearly see that she was more calm without the disruption. Just wanted to give a little hope that your LO might settle in the next few days once they get used to finally being home and not being carted back and forth to hospital. They’ll probably pick up on you being more relaxed too.

Hang in there!!

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 08:29

@Sakura03 she’s 5

I looooove Christmas. I did a lot of my Christmas shopping online during the numerous night feeds.

Just need to get the last couple of things.

When we get back from our weekend away this weekend, we are getting the decorations out ready for the 1st. I need to get stuff ready for then because dd is at the age where this is all magical.
An elf door 🚪 appears just before 1st December and overnight an elf arrives from the North Pole. Plus we need to hang up her advent calendar.

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 08:30

Good luck today @Jellybabie3 fingers crossed for you

AccrualIntentions · 21/11/2017 08:32

Thanks for the welcome messages. I think I managed to put her down for an hour the whole night, and she still isn't settled now. Which means I haven't had a chance to express any milk either and I'm down to my last bottle that I pumped yesterday. I know it's so early it's just relentless!

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 08:35

Hello and welcome @AccrualIntentions! Hang on in there. This thread is company at night times!

Sakura03 · 21/11/2017 08:44

Up for the day now, ds slept another 3 hours plus a bit as he’s tricked and has fallen back asleep on the sofa, never mind it’s given me time to go to the loo🙈🙈 and myself out with some breakfast. So in total I’ve had 6 hours and 20 minutes sleep during the night (done 2 short feeds in between) and I feel quite pleased with that. Just got to live with the mammoth feeds all evening.
What are people up to today? I’ve got a friend coming round to meet ds. I’m hoping to go out to a breastfeeding drop in tomorrow that would be first time taking ds out in his pram. Do your babies like being wheeled around in their pram?

AMagdalena · 21/11/2017 08:53

Cancelled lunch with a friend as she just remembered to mention she's full of cold. I can't possibly deal with a crap sleeper with a cold. Not taking any chances! 😐

Right, DD is awake after a nap, so that's that Hmm

Sakura03 · 21/11/2017 09:04

@AMagdalena - I can’t imagine what it must be like having two dc’s it must be really knackering!

AMagdalena · 21/11/2017 09:07

Sakura Thankfully I have only 1 to deal with!

Toonewtobehaving2 · 21/11/2017 09:14

Urgh! DS now has DD's cold! A 2 year old with a cold and sore throat is bad enough. But a 5 week old who can't breath out his nose! Queue more on off feeding! 😳😱

Sakura03 · 21/11/2017 09:32

@AMagdalena sorry must have misread🤣

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 21/11/2017 09:41

Not up to much today. As part of my section recovery I've been going for gentle walks by myself, more to get out and get head space. So might do that although it's pissing down rain and try and get rest if DS permits me to!

Halfdrankbrew · 21/11/2017 09:57

I love how you all manage to keep count what feed you're on in the night, I often couldn't tell you how many night time feeds I do, lots! We were so lazy today, only woke up at 9.30 Confused, didn't even hear my husband leave at 7!

Jellybean2017 · 21/11/2017 10:15

So that's the night shift over for another day. Now the nap battle recommences. It's ironic how my life now revolves entirely around sleep, yet I'm getting nowhere near enough myself 😂

Today dd went to breakfast club before school so I could get to the park for my weekly postnatal exercise session with ds. Now that’s finished I might intake him to the pool for a quick dunk before lunch. Then spend the afternoon at home. We are going away for the weekend first thing Friday so I’m getting all the washing done and starting to get organised and pack for me and the children. Dh can pack himself!

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 10:32

Only thing is, ds has just fallen asleep so not sure about swimming? Might drive there and see if he wakes.

Jellybabie3 · 21/11/2017 11:01

Welcome newbies Smile the first few weeks of cluster feeding are really tough but hang in there! P
There are plenty of experienced mummies here for advice (not me i havent a clue) or support (we are all in it together!!)

Lazy day here til doc appoint at 5pm. I've brought 4x xmas presents online today so feeling triumphant!! Tomorrow I am going for coffee and shopping Grin i can almost smell the caffeine

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 11:49

It’s a great feeling, being organised @Jellybabie3 ! I don’t know why I’m not organised more often!

We made it swimming and just got home. A couple of hours of Netflix and cuddles with ds before the 3:30 school run is on the agenda for this afternoon 😊

Toonewtobehaving2 · 21/11/2017 11:55

I'm trying to stick to the routine. The DH says his friend is coming over for a couple of hours for lunch and to meet our DC??
At least he's cooking a roast. Shame though as it will never time in with DS feeding! Plus I had an invite to the dreaded soft play with two friends whoses DC are all born within a couple of weeks of DD. Was looking forward to her getting out and about.

Catcatagain · 21/11/2017 12:17

Can I join? I have a 5 week old and a nearly 2 year old and a 3 year old. I thought no baby could reject sleep as much as our dc1 but the new one is doing a good job of it! Have been reading through the most recent posts on this thread and it's v helpful to feel I'm not the only one awake all night feeding /listening to a grunting newborn!

Halfdrankbrew · 21/11/2017 12:26

Cat I thought I had my work cut out with a 20 week old and nearly 2 year old, can't imagine having another toddler in the mix Shock! Sorry to hear the 5 week old isn't doing great on the sleep front, still early days though Smile
