Hope everyone finds the new thread 😂 and new chatterboxes are welcome to join us and battle through the night feeds together (with or without the assistance of EBLL [Ewan's back left leg!) 🐏

@NinaMarieP so glad you made it through leap 4 and the sleep regression and are back to your old sleep schedule. Amazing.

@GingerHanna Gina Ford works within a different reality to me. My son is 12 weeks and he still doesn’t have a regular night time feed schedule and he definitely has more than one. He is poorly rn and in leap 4 but has eaten at 9, 10, 1030, 11... and probably another three times at least before 7am.

Maybe you and yours will be the lucky ones. It is easier now. I just accept that I am nocturnal//24hourturnal.

theotherendofthesockportal · 20/11/2017 22:33

@GingerHanna ignore Gina Ford, when she moves into your house and helps you look after your baby that’s when you can do her routine. All babies are different, go by your baby’s wants and needs.

If Gina Ford wants to tell me how to handle my baby, she can come over and finish my DIY projects and cook me dinner.

GingerHanna · 20/11/2017 23:29

@theotherendofthesockportal and @Ceesadoo thank you! I realize now that I nearly needed permission to ignore her!

DH and I would love some kind of routine and predictability during our days but not sure GF is the way to go. Really would like to get some of my renovation projects done also!

GingerHanna · 20/11/2017 23:33

Feed #2 is go. Only 2 hours 20 minutes feed to feed but not surprised as he had direct breast only last time. Tanking him up on this one so hopefully more sleep now.

Got one month check up with Consultatiebureau next Thursday and see the docs. Will be asking them about his screaming/crying in his sleep as it’s really affecting DH and I.

Jellybean2017 · 21/11/2017 00:54

Feed #2 here too. Only getting less than two hours sleep in between feeds tonight 🙈

Can I join, DS is 20 weeks old so not really new, but I'm ebf him so he never sleeps longer than 3 hours in the night. I do all the night feeding alone so a bit of company would be great Smile! I've got a 22 month old too who sometimes wakes during the night too, just to add to the fun Confused.

Jellybabie3 · 21/11/2017 02:02

Welcome @Halfdrankbrew sounds like you have your hands full!!

Second feed here tonight, last being 10pm which is very good for us. I've just given some gripe water to help DS wind problem..last time this had explosive consequences so fx.....Confused

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 02:18

Dh brought ds up a little earlier tonight. The handover has been around 1am for a few nights which has given me a precious extra hour asleep. Tonight (last night) it was 23:15 but ds was in his Moses basket and dh left him on the bed. I assumed I would be up feeding imminently but hoping to stretch him to a midnight feed but low and behold, here I am at 2:20 with the first feed!

Feed #1.
He’s been a little restless but remained sleepy. Hopi g I can settle him easily after his feed.

EBLL deployed.

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 02:20

Hello @Halfdrankbrew
I don’t envy your two situation with two! I have a 5yo but she’s a good sleeper these days and generally sleeps through ds’ night time squeaks and noises.

Toonewtobehaving2 · 21/11/2017 02:23

Feed #1 for us. Very pleased with that. DS did another 6 hour stretch. Not sure why the expressed bottle seems to have that effect on him, but I'm loving that it does!!

I can hear poor DD snuffling away in her room full of cold. I really hope it clears before her birthday. I'd hate to have to cancel her little tea party.

Jellybean2017 · 21/11/2017 02:42

Hi Halfdrankbrew 😊 love the username, very apt for us all these days I reckon, haha!

Feed 3 here. Struggling to stay awake. May try and move to side lying so I can doze while he feeds..

OP posts:
GingerHanna · 21/11/2017 02:54

Feed #3 is a go. Just over 3.5 hours from last feed and managed 1.5 hours sleep between... amazing that 1.5 hours feels like real luxury nowadays.

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 03:19

Haven’t been able to successfully settle ds yet since feed #1. But to be fair I’ve only tried twice with a cuddle inbetween. Just put him down now.

It’s nappy changing time and I haven’t done it yet because he woke late (or early) and slightly out of sync of normal routine which has caught me unawares. Must remember to do it when he wakes next.

He looks settled now. Off to sleep.

We’re going for a weekend break this weekend. Can’t wait! Is it totally OTT to take the snüzpod with me??! 😂

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 04:10

Feed #2
He was unsettled and I was worried it was because his nappy overflowed (he’s in a bag so not obvious), so gave in and picked him up. He probably would have drifted off again if I hadn’t.

Alls good, nappy changed so on feed #2 now.

Jellybean2017 · 21/11/2017 04:13

Feed 4 here! Although went to lay down and feed last time and he just went to sleep which was nice! This time he seems like he is actually hungry...

OP posts:
Jellybean2017 · 21/11/2017 04:14

Definitely take the snuzpod Hashtag!

GingerHanna · 21/11/2017 04:36

Arrrgghhhh! DS wouldn’t settle after last feed. After half an hour on and off grissling with occasional cries I picked him up and low and behold his back is soaked. Grrrr.

DH very sleepily changed his nappy earlier. I know there was an accident but thought it missed his clothes. Guess not. I am really grumpy now. DH is snoring next to me and DS now settling on my chest. Pissed at DH - apparently he woke for every little grissle between he last feeds so is oh so tired. Yeah right... he sleeps through DS’s screams when right next to him so not convinced.

DS is now enjoying cuddles by must put him down soon so I can try and get an hours sleep before next feed. This was meant to be a two hour sleep slot but that is out of the window.

HashtagTired · 21/11/2017 04:45

Just before I put ds down after a feed, I heard my dd giggle in her room. She must be sleep-giggling as there is no way she would be playing awake without getting up. I wonder what she’s dreaming about 🤔

Sakura03 · 21/11/2017 04:46

Feed#2 here we go. Ds slept from midnight to 2.39 and again from 3.13- 4.23. All evening he was yet again more or less constantly attached to my boobs... I’ve had so many supportive comments that I’m just going with it at the moment. Hv is coming Thursday morning so we shall see what the scales says. Ds was 2805 g at birth (full term) and dropped down to 2505g so he’s a skinny little thing bless him.

I got excited when people where discussing Christmas shopping, looking forward to all that stuff.

Sakura03 · 21/11/2017 04:52

@HashtagTired cute😊 how old is your dd?

mummarosie1 · 21/11/2017 04:56

DD thinks it’s time to get up 😭😭

Toonewtobehaving2 · 21/11/2017 05:57

Feed # 2.
If only he could stretch the extra hour, we could just get up. Still never mind. Two wakes in the night is a vast improvement.
Hopefully he will settle again before DD wakes??

Lovingtyrells · 21/11/2017 06:01

Feeding every 2 hours at night here at 12 weeks. Up for the day now.

Just realised during the day he has started to feed a bit less. Should I try and feed more during the day?? He doesn’t seem as interested.

Jellybabie3 · 21/11/2017 06:09

I'm on second feed since bedtime. Gripe water administered although I cant hear anything....dh will get up in half hour. I'm hoping I will have ds back down by then so i can starfish for a couple of hours - ds permitting.

Big GP sign off today -- can't believe its nearly finally over. After a crappy labour today has been a huge landmark to get to. I'm grateful the emcs happened but as sad as it sounds i hate to think of ds birth 😞

Toonewtobehaving2 · 21/11/2017 06:10

@lovingtyrells - that's what I have been trying to push over the last week (hence my new obsession with the routine) I've verb feeding as much as possible In The day and even better f it means. Sing tied to the sofa more than usual. It does appear to be helping. I'm down to two night feeds at the moment. X
