Ds isn't due for his poo until Sunday, but he could surprise us.

NinaMarieP · 30/11/2017 21:37

The 12 week ones are a doddle, @HashtagTired. We had them at 10am, he was a little grumpy for a few hours then back to his normal self by mid afternoon. It's just one needle and the rotavirus. No meningitis which is the one that causes the fever.

So y'all know how I have a cheese string most nights as a snack while feeding? Well they weren't on offer this week so I stuck some other cheese snacks into my online basket without paying enough attention.

This is what I've ended up with...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 30/11/2017 21:48

Ha ha I approve @Nina! Your talk of cheese strings has got me readdicted to DD's babybels again. Major mum guilt when I ate the last one and had to tell her we'd run out Blush

We have a lot planned tomorrow - friend visiting in the morning, then going into town to see the Christmas lights - so I really could do with some sleep tonight. Please make it so DS...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 30/11/2017 21:49

Oh and I went on a major hobnob binge today. We'd bought a packet ostensibly for when we have guests, but I couldn't control myself. I'm such a beast...

AMagdalena · 30/11/2017 21:50

DD has just announced we are co-sleeping tonight.

Sakura03 · 30/11/2017 22:13

I’m so tired... had 4.5 hours sleep last night and although ds was quite sleepy during the day I could get down for a nap as expecting a phone call in the morning and then had a friend visiting. My friend brought lunch, we had sushi from wasabi and a caramel mousse for dessert😊
But I still fancy cookies...
I really hope I get some shut eye tonight. Ds has been feeding less today whereas he’d normally feed loads with short naps in between and he seems more sleepy so I’m hoping we’ve turned a corner, he is now 17 days old.
1 December tomorrow and I’ve forgotten to get an advent candle😔☹️

theotherendofthesockportal · 30/11/2017 22:31

DD has been feeding on and off since 7pm. I'm praying for at least a 3 hour sleep. Is anyone else starting to feel run down now that the temperature has plummeted?

Sakura03 · 01/12/2017 01:01

We've have still lot had any sleep... ds seems to be catching up on feeding now and I'm going out of my mind as I'm just so tired I could crySad I've tried to put him down to sleep 3 times and he's having none of it... I'd also quite like to go to the toilet...
What a rubbish night!!!

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 01/12/2017 01:02

Quiet tonight - does that mean everyone is happily sleeping away? I hope so! Not so for us, DD up after just 2 hours - normally we at least get a 3 hour stretch but she was very unhappy last night until she eventually passed out on the boob. Maybe she's going to have a good stretch now, just seems unlikely. When her weight gain is better I might start shushing her back to sleep instead of swooping her up and feeding her immediately, but I don't want to do that while she's still so underweight.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 01/12/2017 01:03

Oh x-post - sorry @Sakura03!

NinaMarieP · 01/12/2017 01:05

Have you tried lying down to feed @Sakura03? I found that a life saver in the early weeks as I could doze off now and again and it was a little less exhausting that way. At first I would only do it if someone else was awaking and watching me but I soon became comfortable doing it alone.

We are up for our first feed since 7.30 so not doing too badly considering he was a grump all day.

SleepForTheWeek · 01/12/2017 01:13

DD2 slept from 7-12 which I was quite impressed with but she's now wide awake and has been for over an hour.

Anyone else's baby have long awake spells during the night? She doesn't cry but wide awake and chatty for 1-2 hours Shock

DH usually takes her downstairs when this happens but he also gets up with her in the morning and lately that's been 5.45!!! He's really tired during the day which isn't great so think I'm going to have to take one for the team and get up with her (if this last ditched attempt at feeding her again doesn't work) before she wakes up DD1

SleepForTheWeek · 01/12/2017 01:20

What a hero, he's just offered to take her downstairs and get her to sleep.

Goodnight! I'll be here again in 2 hours 😂

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 01/12/2017 01:27

Hello! I'm here. Bad night. DS slept from 7 till 930, feed then until 1. I got a bit of sleep...but woke in agony. My upper back is in a spasm, it hurts so much and I can not get comfortable! Am writing this propped up straight with DS hanging off my boob. Ouch ouch ouch! Feeling very sorry for myself...

mummarosie1 · 01/12/2017 01:57

Sorry to hear that @WhoAteAllthePercyPigs!

DD is on day 2 of cold, feeding definitely down (from ~900mls/day to 650-700mls/day) so I have found myself setting alarms again to make sure she feeds every 3 hours during the night. She's been sleeping for 6 hours and then 4-5 hours at night and I am deliberately ruining any chance of this sticking 😂 the things we do for our babies to keep them healthy ey!

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 01/12/2017 02:10

@mummarosie1 are you FF? And did the HV tell you to wake for feeds? It's normal for Ill Babies to feed less but if you are doing the 3-hourly feeds like dream feeds you might get away with it!

SleepForTheWeek · 01/12/2017 02:18

DH was successful getting DD2 sleep but she woke again after 30 mins m....I just want to sleep!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 01/12/2017 02:36

Thanks @mummarosie.

DS won't settle. Wide awake and squirming away, think he's trying to do a poo. Wish I could help. He's been very regular up till now. Not sure if it's because he has a cold?

Can barely move. Of all the nights for this to happen!

HashtagTired · 01/12/2017 02:42

First feed for me (well, ds) this morning.
Dh had a long day at work so was Kate home which meant I couldn't go to bed at my normal time as ds was awake. So dh brought him up to me a little later this evening so not sure what his feeding pattern has been up until now. Normally he feeds 12 midnight, 2:30 and 5am and 8 am. So totes normal to be feeding now.
We've found if he drops a feed it's usually the midnight one but I won't know until the morning if that was the case or not.

I hate this bed now. With a passion. I'm propped up with my two normal pillows plus a cushion from the lounge and it's so uncomfortable. My back aches and I have my foot against the Snüzpod so i can keep one leg bent to prop him up whilst feeding. It shouldn't be this uncomfortable but it's because I'm tired tonight and teasy that I feel every ache and pain and it's bloody annoying.

What's worse is that the headboard isn't flat, it's metal poles and so I can't just lean against it otherwise I'd slip in between. When we were away we had a wooden headboard on the bed and it was so much better. Ffs.

HashtagTired · 01/12/2017 02:49

So. Last night we decorated the tree. I began to regret immediately getting my 5 year old to help me as she was putting the baubles up in all the wrong places on the tree 😱 so I had to discretely move then about a-bit! Looks good. Got her advent calendar up. It's one of those ones we stuff with a small present or chocolate. Today, she has a small Cath Kidston purse that I got in the sale a few weeks back. It's the same material as my purse so I thought she'd quite like matching. Plus she has her school Christmas fair tomorrow and I thought she could take some of her own money. She doesn't have gifts like that everyday! Sometimes it will just be a chocolate coin, but it's the first day.

Plus the elf has arrived through the magic elf door with a little note.

I haven't decided yet whether we (mum and dad) give the advent gifts or the elf. What do you think?
Whatever we decide now will be the tradition always. Either way it will be for good behaviour, or rather she won't get one if she's been naughty the day before.

Help?!

HashtagTired · 01/12/2017 02:50

I ate half a Stollen today. Whoops.

I seriously have to stop eating crap.

Jellybabie3 · 01/12/2017 02:51

First feed here too. DS went to sleep at 10.30pm. Were currently feeding side lying. I have just got up to do the bum change and its f'in freezing. Groegg has gone blue. DS is in a winter grobag but I am still feeling guilty about even contemplating putting him back im his bed. Hes gonna get away with alot of wintery cuddles I think. Gotta be up by 6 to get ready for this MOT Sad praying this is a quick feed so we can both get some more sleep. We have a busy day visiting and shopping out and about before heading back more importantly for the Christmas decorations. Fx it's a good day I'm already anxious

actino · 01/12/2017 02:54

Hi. I'm on feed #1 but she started 70 mins ago... She also had two separate one hour-long feeds last night. her normal feeds are 15-30 mins, so I'm hoping that this is the growth spurt because an hour plus is a long feed.

My chocolate supply is also dangerously low, but should last the night with some rationing.

Ceesadoo · 01/12/2017 03:12

Just read a forum post from a woman who's husband died in a car crash today. Heartbreaking. Makes me feel bad for complaining about my child who will not sleep for love nor money and just pooped and weed while I changed him.

Ceesadoo · 01/12/2017 03:14

Cannot imagine what she's going through. Ugh.
