Ds has been attached to me most of the afternoon/evening. I gave him a ff bottle as I was concerned he wasn't getting enough from me. He drank 120ml quite quickly. Hopefully that'll satisfy him for a little.

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 20:56

@Halfdrankbrew ah yes. Now you mention it, I do recall the nurse saying that. I didn't notice much of a reaction from the 8 week jabs. But I did clear my diary in preparation for a day of cuddles. I've done the same for Friday but sounds like he might be ok this time around.

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 20:57

So I managed to refrain from eating cookies in the middle of the night last night. But I did have two for breakfast.

AMagdalena · 28/11/2017 20:58

@Hashtag DD has had her 12 week vaccinations. Nothing to worry about. One injection plus one oral vaccine. DD barely noticed what happened.

NinaMarieP · 28/11/2017 21:15

It was his 16 weeks ones @HashtagTired. The 12 weeks ones were a doddle compared to the 8 week ones. LO was a bit grumpy for a few hours but that was about it.

NinaMarieP · 28/11/2017 21:16

Some foods are just not good for eating over a baby. They just crumble over them, not the fault of the eater whatsoever.

yolkybokey · 28/11/2017 21:47

My sling is covered in food stains Blush
I love my mamaruga zen sling, I couldn't be without it.

Me and DH went out for our first date night tonight to Wetherspoons Grin
What freedom!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 28/11/2017 21:50

I had my lunch whilst DS was in the sling and he's still got crumbs in his hair Grin managed most of a Sunday roast whilst breastfeeding him, serious skillz right there...

DS has been a feeding demon tonight. Gave him a bottle of formula, he chugged it back fast then spewed everywhere. He's giving all the hungry signs but I'm not sure he is? Tried a dummy but he spat it out. Not sure what's going on. I think he wants lots of milk but his teeny tummy can't handle it bit like DH who reacts badly to chocolate but still scoffs it anyway

So not sure what kind of night we have ahead. He's currently lying on me snuffling and snorting like a little piglet, scared to put him down in case he upchucks again...

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/11/2017 22:13

The night terrors have already begun in my house. DD won't settle, will take the odd ounce of milk, act like she is nodding off then start screaming again.

The health visitor advised us to keep her upright for an hour after every feed. Which works if I hold her, if I put her down in an elevated crib/ Moses basket she screams blue murder.

On the plus side, I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow, so I'm having a lie in. If my little munchkin lets me!

GimbleInTheWabe · 28/11/2017 23:22

Just caught up on the thread.
Love the sound of these baby boxes, you Scots have it down! V jel what else is in it!?

DS is going through a majorly fussy period and has a cold to top it off. Also has anyone got any tips for nipple confusion? sS has always been ebf but We're now giving him one bottle of breast milk a day as I'm still working and sometimes need to go in to town. He always is so fussy on my boob after the bottle though. Any thoughts or ideas?

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 29/11/2017 00:09

Unbelievably still up, DD cluster fed all evening, took 5oz of expressed milk at 8pm, continued on the boob and literally has barely stopped! Put her down at 11.30pm, here we are again FFS!!!

@GimbleInTheWabe what bottles are you using?

theotherendofthesockportal · 29/11/2017 00:32

I have s baby that is refusing to be put down. Refusing milk when I try to give it her, she just wants to me held and I need to sleep! Since Sunday I've had 7 hours of broken sleep, so now I actually feel like I'm losing my mind.

actino · 29/11/2017 00:55

Hi, everyone. Dd is on the boob rift now for bug feed #1. I got to sleep from ~930-12 which is a good stretch for me in the evening.

I have two slings, one fabric one from the baby box and also an ergobaby. I have used the fabric one but don't like it much, dd sometimes ends up crumpled down in a weird position and I find it a bit of a faff to adjust. I just bought the newborn insert for the ergobaby and so far prefer using that. I may use the fabric sling in the house, though.

GingerHanna · 29/11/2017 01:07

@theotherendofthesockportal sleep deprivation really is the worst. Hope you manage to get some shut eye soon.

Handover feed was earlier than hoped (00:30 rather than 02:00) but DH stayed up with me to keep me company which was nice. Making sure to keep off the phone and focus on listening to DS to make sure he is still swallowing and not just sucking in his sleep. He did really well - 20+ minutes each side and fell off himself. Hopefully he will be very full and not awake in an hour! Went down really well which was a surprise as he has been a velcro baby all day so now I am pumping and wondering if he is just trying to lure me into a false sense of security. Not going to work!

Five hours solid sleep before me shift has really helped. Here’s hoping we all get some good shut eye tonight!

NinaMarieP · 29/11/2017 01:36

So far tonight hasn't been too bad. LO has slept in my bed from 10.15-12.55. Nothing like his usual first stint of the night but not bad considering how he hasn't fed well since the early afternoon. It was even a peaceful sleep, after his 8 weeks needles he whimpered in his sleep all night and I didn't sleep at all.

GingerHanna · 29/11/2017 02:11

Back up again - 30-60 minutes earlier than I would have liked but not the end of the world. Struggled to sleep after last feed as brain too active. Probably won’t pump after this one so hopefully will get more sleep.

Jellybean2017 · 29/11/2017 02:25

Think this is feed number 4... Just given some more Calpol as he is still hot. But overall not too bad a night so far, he has gone back to sleep quite quickly after feeding and so have I... Hope everyone else is doing OK. Cake

Hope you’re all getting some sleep! Feed #1 here, slept from 23.20-2am. Hoping for another 2hours sleep before next feed. Sitting in the dark in the lounge with a tiny bit of light shining through from the kitchen, hoping it will keep ds sleepy.
Received ds’ passport photos today so can now get onto applying for his first passport.
I really want to get a sling but it’s so hard to choose which one... I have the same dilemma when it comes to breast pumps...
Oh and tomorrow I must order a new and slightly bigger nursing bra!

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 03:03

@NinaMarieP oh the whimpering in their sleep is just heartbreaking, isn't it? Bless their teeny tiny cotton socks!

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 03:06

Evening all. Feed #1 here after 4.5hours whoop whoop.

Failed attempt at feeding expressed milk earlier. Despite having formula and expressed milk after birth due to weight loss hes forgot what to do. Was going to express for xmas visits as i am too shy to bf in front of dad and bro but there goes that. I have a day trip next week with ds and dad so not sure what i will do. Don't wanna sit in car feeding while everyone else is having a jolly Hmm

Had a look at all your wrap/sling suggestions thanks!! Had a go in our baby bjorn today and did manage to do Ironing and a light hoover. Tiring though!! Out for coffee and baby massage today. Lucky little sod.

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 03:06

@Sakura03 see if you can google your nearest sling library to try out a few slings before you commit. They will hire them out too for a really small fee. Worth finding out about.

actino · 29/11/2017 03:08

3 feeds in since midnight. My bum gets really sore from sitting up all night so I put dd in her basket hoping for 5-10 mins where I could lie in my side but no joy. She's now sleeping great in bed with me, but that means that I have to stay awake.

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 03:09

Haha @Jellybabie3 we have baby massage today too. Isn't that the life? Being cuddled to sleep, eating whilst lying down, sleeping in a gro bag and baby massage! If he's in the mood for it, he does like a good massage; who wouldn't?!

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 03:13

Feed #1 here.
So far a much better night than last night where we were up hourly from midnight.
I think dh brought ds up around midnight in his Moses basket and normally I get him out to feed him then put him down in the Snüzpod after his feed. But tonight, whilst he was a little bit restless, he stayed in his Moses until 2;45 ish so that meant I got a few extra hours of sleep, albeit a little bit broken because he was fidgety.

I'm curious what feeds he has had with dh last night. Maybe dh fed him before giving him to me, in which case he's on his usual routine. Otherwise he's dropped his midnight feed which wouldn't be the first time. Interesting.

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 03:14

@actino I know what you mean about bum being sore sitting up. And my back and, randomly, my ankles. All from night feeds. I'm just so still these days. I might try some yoga, I hear that's good.
