Hope everyone finds the new thread 😂 and new chatterboxes are welcome to join us and battle through the night feeds together (with or without the assistance of EBLL [Ewan's back left leg!) 🐏

He is awake and the inconsolable crying has now commenced 🙈 have popped him in the sling to give him some comfort. Might put some ear defenders on my Xmas wish list!!

Oh I hate taking them for their jabs, my ds has his last lot on Monday, 4/5 weeks late.

I've not ordered the overpriced (can't remember the name of them but it's the one a couple of you mentioned) bottles, maybe I'll just keep trying my tommee tippee and hope he decides he'll have them. We'll be starting weaning in a month so the feeding from me will slowly reduce, although he'll probably not swallow much food at first. I guess it won't be forever having him stuck to me, even if it feels like it some days!

NinaMarieP · 28/11/2017 16:49

He has settled after another feed thankfully but I think we could be in for a long night!

ValentineFizz · 28/11/2017 17:02

Oh my this thread moves fast - thank you for the welcomes! I haven't quite mastered the ability to type on here whilst feeding/burping through the night but we were up 3 times last night for an hour at a time, the winding and keeping him upright after a feed takes longer than the feeding itself, does anyone use infacol or gripe water to help with wind issues?

I too got a sling in my baby box, I've signed up to a class next week to learn how to use it, l can't wait!

NinaMarieP · 28/11/2017 17:44

I used infacol from about 3/4 weeks up to 12 ish. I found it helped him burp more easily and that also reduced how much of sore tummy/ pumping he had/did.

NinaMarieP · 28/11/2017 17:45

Oh and the ability to mumsnet while feeding is a critical skill for a mother, you'll need to work on that GrinWink

Jellybean2017 · 28/11/2017 17:53

DS has been asleep again for an hour. He never usually sleeps this much so I'm guessing it's a side effect of the vaccinations rather than a change of character!

Haha I don't know where I'd be without mumsnet during middle of the night feeding! 😂😂😂

@sleepycat13 it’s easier every time I do it. Never really had too many issues to start with - I believe going in with the right mindset rather than being scared of it helps.

Just ordered a second one - think it will be addictive!

GingerHanna · 28/11/2017 18:59

Right. 20:00 here and early night for me. DH has velcro baby, expressed milk and PlayStation so I’m off to sleep until witching hour feed. Fingers crossed tonight is better than last night!

ValentineFizz · 28/11/2017 19:59

Hi @NinaMarieP thank you for both pieces of advice!! 😀 Multi-tasking takes on a whole new meaning with a wriggly baby 😂🙄

Jellybean2017 · 28/11/2017 20:03

Good luck.@gingerhanna hope you (and everyone else) get sleep. I'm in bed already with DS. Here goes...

No problem Valentine! Soon you'll be a pro. Last night I ate tinned sweetcorn with a fork and my non-dominant hand. Without dropping any on my baby who was between my plate and my mouth.

I had previously tried that at a week old or so and it was a total disaster 😂

AMagdalena · 28/11/2017 20:08

DD is on da boob in her non-sleeping bag. Praying for a miracle

Jellybabie3 · 28/11/2017 20:14

@ValentineFizz i use gripe water for ds. He has terrible wind. I give it to him after every feed from about now til morning otherwise he wakes up every hour writhing. With gripe he can go up to 6 hours. It works very quickly though and can have explosive results!! But we go from crying to smiling so its worth it Smile ds is 7 weeks old btw. Infacol did nothing although i think thats better for burps than bowel/gripey pains.

Jellybabie3 · 28/11/2017 20:16

@NinaMarieP 😂 ds gets covered in toast crumbs daily. Also marmite, ice cream, gravy.....hes 7 weeks old so havent mastered it yet

Jellybabie3 · 28/11/2017 20:17

Thanks for all the wrap tips! Need something i can cook in. Maternity leave batch cooks have ran out!!

AMagdalena · 28/11/2017 20:28

DD has had both breasts and is wide awake! Absolute demon

AMagdalena · 28/11/2017 20:30

Chatting to herself now...Great start

Jellybean2017 · 28/11/2017 20:33

Waiting for DS to finish second side... I'm so sleepy!

Jellybean2017 · 28/11/2017 20:34

😂 DS also in his non sleeping bag haha!

AMagdalena · 28/11/2017 20:38

@Jellybean why do we bother 😂

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 20:48

@ValentineFizz I used infacol and gripe and colief. None of them did much for us but other parents have found it helps. I guess it depends on what the issue is.

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 20:49

@Jellybean2017 @NinaMarieP which vaccinations have been had? Ds has his 12 week ones (2nd ones) on Friday. Right in the middle of his ww fussy stage 😬

HashtagTired · 28/11/2017 20:52

@NinaMarieP I had s food fail today. I ate a dirty great big double choc chunk cookie whilst ds was sleeping on me. Bliss. It was dhs cookie and he was out. It wasn't until I handed ds over to dh when he got in that I noticed melted chocolate on his neck and on his top. Whoops. I've just trotted off to bed now and hope dh doesn't notice. Meh.

Halfdrankbrew · 28/11/2017 20:52

hashtag the second lot of jabs doesn't give them a temperature like the 8 week and 16 week do, there's no meningitis in the second lot.
