Hi I'm awake with dd6 weeks....she has been a relatively good sleeper but last few nights just won't settle for longer then 10/20mins....it's getting to me now. I've had a good cry and Dh has tried his best but he has work tomorrow so it's back to me now. I wish you all luck!!!

Ohb0llocks · 17/11/2017 00:56

Finally got him to sleep in his crib downstairs. Won’t be long before he wakes up for another feed. Honestly this unsettledness at night is pushing me over the edge. Think I’ll go and get a dummy tomorrow see if that helps.

Ohb0llocks · 17/11/2017 01:32

And we’re off. Excellent.

Ohb0llocks · 17/11/2017 01:44

Fed for7 minutes and he’s back asleep in his crib... what on earth!?

Ohb0llocks · 17/11/2017 01:48

I take it back 😂😫

GinUnicorn · 17/11/2017 02:06

Mines looking promising- slept 3.5 hours as opposed to2. Now if when she finishes eating she will go back in her Moses basket is the real test zzzzz

GingerHanna · 17/11/2017 02:26

We managed four hours between feeds! At night! Woot woot!

Unfortunately we had two changes of clothes after the last feed and then it took half an hour to settle, so only two hours or so of actual sleep. And I woke up an hour early when he made a small squark so obviously couldn’t sleep properly afterwards as was expecting him to wake any minute.

DH sleeps through it all and then wonders what the fuss is about as DS protests at my nipple not being in the right place after he had thrown himself on and off it again for the eleventy billionth time in five minutes. 🙄

Feed #1
Dh brought him up to me at 1am and he’s just finished his first feed.
I did it lying down in account of being fed up being uncomfortable sitting up in bed. He’s quite restless lying next to me now and i don’t know how to scoot him over to the snuzpod easily 🤔
I need to balance whilst keeping him low and flat. One needs to be an acrobat to achieve that?!

Dh didn’t bag him up, either. So I need to do that too as ds will kick off any blankets and will notice the cold when I transfer.

Fed #1!!!! Amazing!
Started at 2am, it just taken me a while to catch up. That's four nights running with a 5 hour stint at the beginning of the night. Albeit he wakes around 11pm, last two nights he's gone. BAck to sleep with no intervention from me. Actually I'm. It sure that was last night as well. All the nights and days are blending into one!
I just wish the second part of the night wasn't broken into feeding every 2 hours!! Win some lose some I guess.
DH is back tomo, so can help with DD.
I'm going to try and stick to strict 3 hour feeding in the day tomo, or more if necessary. I think DS is under feeding in the day as he goes way to long between feeds. Mainly due to taking way too long after to get him to sleep!

I think it was lovingtyrells who asked re sleep training. With my DD I started CIO (the save our sleep method) a little younger than 3 months. Took 10 days in all and she's still a brilliant sleeper at nearly two. We never really had any lasting sleep regressions and teething was only temporary she went back to it after. X I'll hopefully be doing the same with DS. All I would say is it obviously helps them settle themselves but not nescesarily sleep for longer periods. If they are waking because they are hungry they will still wake. X

Had to go downstairs for a bag. Stopped by the fridge for a cheeky cheesestring. Bagged him up and lifted across. Did require contortionist skills i don’t posses and so I have a restless ds in the snuzpod. I’ll see if he settles fat chance he will, so will end up sitting up to feed him in this bloody bed with back, neck and bum ache again. Ffs.

1st feed for me (bed at 10.30). not as good going as last few nights but still much better than the usual so I will take that. my eyes are burning though from being so tired. probably hasn't helped that I'm on here... but it helps to stay awake and keep me going when it seems the rest of the world is sleeping

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 03:06

I'm up again, know what you mean about burning eyes!

Hoping DS feeds quickly so I can sleep again. I was having a lovely dream about a hot cup of tea 😂

Toonewtobehaving2 · 17/11/2017 03:15

jellybean hot cup of tea! ☕️😍
That's all I can think of now. 😳

Can't possibly use up valuable snooze time to boil kettle, brew tea, sip tea (with biscuit) - no no no!!

Oh and sorry for serious amount of spelling and grammar issues in my above message. X

Efferlunt · 17/11/2017 04:11

Fell asleep upright on sofa in front of telly so I gave up and went to bed at nine. He then went through until 1 and again to 0330 so I feel lucky tonight!

GingerHanna · 17/11/2017 04:11

Back up again for 5am snack. Fed up and want sleep.

AMagdalena · 17/11/2017 04:13

We'vs been up everu 2 hours and now DD is awake. Tired doesn't even begin to cover it...

GingerHanna · 17/11/2017 04:30

Less snack and more feast. Interjected with boobie fighting.

GingerHanna · 17/11/2017 04:31

@AMagdelena you have my deepest sympathies

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 17/11/2017 04:46

First wake at 2am, but then took an age to settle, back asleep at 3.45 and awake again at 4.30. Noooooo...

Know what you mean about burning eyes!

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 05:29

Have been asleep for two hours in the side lying position. More vivid dreams about having a shower in peace 😂

Feeding again and hoping DS will go back to sleep for another hour or two after he finishes. If he does then I will have banked a total of six ish broken hours sleep, which sounds pretty amazing in my sleep deprived state 🙈
