Mine went down at 11pm then awake at 2ish. Back to his own bed just before 4 (we both fell asleep) and up again at 5.10am. Been trying to feed on one side most of the night thanks to my crooked.neck which means i woke with a boob the size of my head. Ds's little face lit up. Think i actually saw him smack his hands together as if to say 'i got this'. He's gobbled so hard hes all but passed out but on top of my boob. Requires oober stealth to slip him off. Albeit he is bagged so it should be a straight transfer to bed from there.

If he does a poo now i will cry.

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 05:39

DS keeps drifting off and waking up every few minutes. I’ve been unable to put him down for an hour and a half. Soon he’ll just want to feed again SadSo frustrating :( This damn cold doesn’t help either.

sleepycat13 · 17/11/2017 05:46

I just did a pre feed nappy change on the hungry baby in the hope that means i can avoid doing it after the feed and therefore avoid waking him back up. not easy to change a hungry baby. cue screaming, legs flailing, husband waking and telling me to stop shhhing DS as it clearly doesn't work. Hmm

theotherendofthesockportal · 17/11/2017 05:55

Just as I thought I was loosing my mind last night after yesterday’s 3 hours of broken sleep by DD slept for 4.5. I feel like I can take on the world!!

Now I am in awkward no mans land that DD is fed and dropping off but DH alarm will start to go off soon. If I put DD to bed DH will wake her up. I think I’ll just hold her until he leaves.

AMagdalena · 17/11/2017 07:12

DD is fast asleep, but I can't sleep Sad
Why, oh why?

Jellie You've inspired me. Going Christmas shopping tomorrow 😁

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 07:12

What a horror night Sad

sleepycat13 · 17/11/2017 07:53

@Ven83 sorry you had a shocker of a night. hope the day isn't too hard

Jellybabie3 · 17/11/2017 07:55

Geez ds has been grunting for 2 hours......

Toonewtobehaving2 · 17/11/2017 08:27

I'm not sure I feel I had a good night or not. It certainly started amazing. But DS was awake at 0200 - fed and back in his own bed at 0315. Woke at 0450, but just stirring and grunting. Managed to hold off the feed until 0600. Then I did that laying down in bed. He fell asleep after and is still there now. I'm up with DD and have managed to have a shower and get dressed!

Jellybabie3 · 17/11/2017 08:39

Yay magdelana.

I declare this 'get your boob out and go shopping week!'

Doesn't sound too bad toonew!! Good job x

HashtagTired · 17/11/2017 09:22

It’s been a busy week trying to remember everything for school this week! Lots of fundraising, raffle prizes, baking, fancy dress, homework 😩 but I honk I’ve nailed it! 🙌
I have no idea how I am going to cope with all of this when I’m back at work!!!

Last night was a strange one for me. Dh brought ds up at around 1am ish which meant I got an invaluable good block of sleep beforehand. Ds stayed asleep until around 2am. Bagged, fed (both lying down) and shuffled him over to his snuzpod. Great 👍🏻

Woke again around 4:30. Fed but didn’t shuffle him over. Fed again around 7am. I got up and left him sleeping.

Because I didn’t sit up to feed last night, I feel more rested. Maybe that’s the way to go? I just need to master shuffling him over. Maybe feed him on a blanket and pull the blanket over with him on it might be less disturbing than lifting him slightly 🤔

Laying down is defo the way to go to rest as long as you don't mind risking falling asleep - i do alot! So I just feed in the safe co sleep position just in case. Also comfy for MN in the night!

I manage to get ds over and into sleepyhead OK although it took a few days to nail the art. Sleeping bags massively helped.

Sounds like you had a good one!

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 10:20

Anyone else feel their life is just a constant battle to get the baby to nap? 🙈

NinaMarieP · 17/11/2017 10:35

My night was pretty crap! After several nights of the first wake up being around 2 or later it went back to 12.

Well no problem as my OH was to give a bottle for the next feed.

But he phoned me at 4am because the milk wasn’t fully defrosted and I had to get him more hot water. Took me ages to get back to sleep I was so mad.

He then phoned again at 7 because baby was unsettled and crying but wouldn’t take any more milk.

So basically I would have been just as well rested had I done all the feeds myself and I wouldn’t have wasted 5oz of milk!!

sleepycat13 · 17/11/2017 10:37

Yes jelly bean!! also to get him up, get us ready, and go to bed. it seems he is only happy when he is feeding or being being jigged in pram/sling/car seat. so chilled days at home are actually really hard work

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 10:39

@sleepycat13 Thank you my lovely Cake we just had a long nap which helped. DH also decided to work from home so he can look after us. Thankfully the weekend’s coming up. I’ve had enough of this week.

sleepycat13 · 17/11/2017 10:39

@NinaMarieP I hate wasting milk!! so totally feel your pain.

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 10:41

This might be a very stupid question but those of you breastfeeding in the co-sleeping position - how do you switch boobs?

NinaMarieP · 17/11/2017 10:47

Only saving grace is that because he had small amounts of milk over a few hours I managed to express quite a lot from one boob now I’m up.

I sometimes lean forward to offer the upper breast but normally I just physically get up and lie on my other side. I change the nappy in between boobs though so it’s no hassle to position us differently afterwards.

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 10:50

Glad it's not just me. Oh Nina that sounds so annoying! 😔

Sleepycat mine likes being jigged in the sling but not much else, he hates car seat and pram. I managed to bounce him to sleep on the birthing ball earlier, with him in the sling obviously 😂 and he has been asleep nearly an hour but I have to keep dancing about when he stirs. I'm determined to get naps right as we are doing a baby class this afternoon and he always falls asleep halfway through (need to work out what it is that sends him to sleep there!!)

Co sleeping I tend to get lazy and only feed from left side 😂 then make sure I feed from the right next time I sit up. You could put baby in the middle of bed and move around them if it's only you and baby in the bed...

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 11:00

@Jellybean2017 Yes Sad** as soon we finish feeding I have to start getting him to sleep, as he’s already been up for too long and getting grizzly. Feels like no matter how efficient I try to be, I’m still always late when it comes to his mood changes and what he should be doing.

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 11:02

Thanks, I was thinking there must be some kind of ninja move I’m not seeing but I guess it comes down to either gymnastics or getting out of bed.

AMagdalena · 17/11/2017 12:07

Ven I normally lean over DD to offer the upper breast.
Co-sleeping has saved my sanity! And probably my spine, too.

DD has mercifully let me put her down for her 33 min nap. Enough time to catch up on East Enders and have a cuppa Grin
And I didn't feed her to sleep either.

HashtagTired · 17/11/2017 12:32

Currently sat in the changing rooms at the gym feeding ds. He’s just had a taster swimming lesson and he did so well. He’s just exhausted and hungry now. He’ll sleep well after this. I just need to get dressed!
