Welcome mummy!

HashtagTired · 15/11/2017 19:16

Those nature valley chocolate protein bars are quite nice too.

Welcome @mummmyj
14 days old! Still a little squish! We are psyching ourselves up for the night shift. I’m in bed now. Ds downstairs with dh until midnight. I’m getting some precious zzzzzz’s in because I know tonight is going to be tough 😬

HashtagTired · 15/11/2017 19:19

I bet I’m the only one here tonight!! 😂😂
In a way, I hope I am because that’ll mean you’ve all had s great night. Even better, none of us are.

I like how we are all adjusting and managing our expectations; tonight is going to be a shit night. It can only get better from there!

Good luck everyone. See you on the other side!

I agree. And this thread is a life saver

AMagdalena · 15/11/2017 19:34

Sooooo a very overtired DD has fallen asleep in my arms. I'm in for a good one already...

See you all every 2 hours (at least)Grin

Lovingtyrells · 15/11/2017 20:10

Well done for all starting the healthy eating. I really should but feeling too sorry for myself. But when I see my fat self in the mirror I think about it again!

DS has only slept in the sling today for 2 hours while I went out, has been manic and fussy since 2pm. Still will NOT sleep unless being held or sling and daytime he won’t even sleep on his stomach anymore. Also will not sleep in the car seat which he used to. (I’m at 11 weeks). I tried the bouncy chair and he tolerates for 5min then screams.

Toonewtobehaving2 · 15/11/2017 20:34

Well, it's not gone to plan but it's not been as bad as it could be. DS sat on the bath room floor in a little chair while I did DD's bath. He then sat in the swing while I dried her hair and did PJ's and story. However her compeltly lost it by the time milk and hugs came. Had to put him I his cot with the mobile on and let him cry for 8 mins, (I counted) as that's DD's fav bit. She went straight I off to sleep.
He however, howled when I tried to give him the bottle. He eventually drank it at about 1920, but is still awake!!!

Toonewtobehaving2 · 15/11/2017 20:35

I am clearly not the giver of bottles! he prefers it to cpke syraight frombyhw source wuth me clearly!

still - we'll hey yhere im sure. 😴😴😴

Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 20:49

Question....what is ewans back left leg??

Glad all OK toonew Smile

sleepycat13 · 15/11/2017 20:50

think i shall be on here later too. been sat in bed for the last hour trying to fill ds up enough to go to sleep so that I can too. think he has a cold coming on as he has been fussy today and hasn't wanted to nap much.

Jellybean2017 · 15/11/2017 20:50

Welcome @mummmyj
You need to tell your visitors to do their own washing up 😉😂

DS went to sleep in the sling on DH at 8 so I snuck upstairs for a nap. However I couldn't get to sleep and he's now back with me and feeding! Here we go again 🙈

Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 21:04

Oh no i read your thread wrong toonew. Sorry he kicked off. Sounds tricky having two!!

Mine napped on me for an hour. Put him in his cot. Woke in 5min and is now hysterical

Lallypopstick · 15/11/2017 21:26

I think of this thread every time I press Ewan’s leg (often).

AMagdalena · 15/11/2017 21:46

Check in #1
DD lasted half an hr in her cot before waking up hysterical.
Asleep next to me in no time

theotherendofthesockportal · 15/11/2017 21:57

@Jellybabie3 this is Ewan, his 4 legs make different noises, ranging from womb noise to music.

I’m in for a bad night DD is being fed by DH now, this means I’ll be rudely awoken at least twice tonight :(

Still awake with newborn
Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 22:07

Oh hi the other end Smile

Sorry i didnt make sense (typing and bf'ing)...I do have a ewan i just don't get what the sound is? We all agreed back left was the winning leg but what noise is that??

Love the piccie though Grin could be my ewans twin 😂

Ds meanwhile.is being a toad. But i knew it was coming!

theotherendofthesockportal · 15/11/2017 22:15

@Jellybabie3 ha ha! Instead of sleeping I am now googling Ewan. As well as finding out what the noises are, although no idea which noise matches with which leg; I have discover Ewan comes in a variety of colours!

Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 22:27

Oh yes I have seen the purple one!

Hmm i reckon its the vacuum one you know!

Failed attempt no.7 of putting ds down. I will be damned if hes sleeping in our bed again tonight (will cave by midnight....)

Hes furiously chomping on my boob. Poor overtired baby Sad

Jellybean2017 · 16/11/2017 00:10

We are up 😵

GingerHanna · 16/11/2017 00:31

He goes 3.5 hours between feeds then 2.5 hours? Why? He did 4 hours during the day... why not at night?

GingerHanna · 16/11/2017 00:50

Ahhhh... big poos just after papa has handed you over with a nice new clean nappy AND throwing milk back up all over your top. Nice.

AMagdalena · 16/11/2017 01:12

We're up.
DH successfully put DD down after her brief wake up, but the house cat decided to howl outside the door, woke me up and then I woke DD up by going to the loo...

Jellybabie3 · 16/11/2017 01:16

Were up. 2 hours of fidgeting and I could hold him back no more. Ironically cooed the whole way through nappy change Hmm back to savaging my boob now. Hoping for a quick feed but he still appears to be in a bit of a ratty mood.

Online xmas shopping here we come....

Shame about the cat!!

Bobbiepin · 16/11/2017 01:20

Hi everyone, DD is 3 weeks and giving it some tonight. Usually she sleeps most of the day but aside from a quick nap walking around asda she's been awake all day and is obviously over tired. I managed to get 45 mins sleep whilst DH gave her a bottle but she's done 5 nappies since then and is back on the boob although she's obviously just using me as a dummy & not feeding.

I've found recently that when I'm tired i cant bear the thought of breastfeeding or even just being touched. Any sensation goes through me like nails on a blackboard. I had to take the codeine the doctors gave me after labour to stand having her back on the boob. Does anyone else feel like this?

HashtagTired · 16/11/2017 01:23

Feed#1
A little later than expected but dh brought him up half hour ago in his Moses basket saying that he should be ok for a while. He lasted 30 mins so I suspect ds has only recently had a feed but I was too sleepy to ask dh when his last feed was. So I’m thinking this isn’t the best of starts (from ds point of view). From my point of view, I’ve just woken from almost 5 hours solid sleep and I’m feeling wonderful! (Compared to yesterday!) it just means that if ds did decide to have a bad night, I have the energy to deal with it better. Any sleep I get tonight now is a bonus!

Hope you are all sleeping soundly!

I have noticed that because I spend so much of my sleep these days in a light sleep, I have the weirdest and most vivid of dreams!
