Thanks ladies. X
He's asleep on me now. Just debating when to attempt the move back to his basket!

Jellybean2017 · 15/11/2017 04:01

Here goes feed #3

My eyes are so heavy!

GingerHanna · 15/11/2017 04:05

Changed, fed, swaddled and settled. Milk pumped (40ml is depressing but to be expected at this time of night). Now the cat has curled up on my side of the bed and give me me the eye as I approached. Grrrr.

See you on the other side!

HashtagTired · 15/11/2017 04:21

Struggling to settle this one. He sleeps in my arms but I put him down and his eyes just ping open 👀
I made the mistake the first time of not being as delicate and he sort of slipped the last inch or two onto the snuzpod which didn’t help. Unsurprisingly he woke. Settled again in my arms but he’s just woken again as soon as I put him down.

I need sleep. He needs sleep. This should be a fairly agreeable transaction here. Ewan is legging away too which is making me even more sleepy!

One. More. Go. Come on ds, this has to be your last go. Sleeeeeeeeeeeep for me!

Not beem too bad here.
4 hours in the cot (I think she woke after 1 hr or so, but I could hear some vigorous thumb sucking and she fell back asleep), then another 3,5 hrs with me, currently wide awake waiting for poo Hmm

Jellybean, I can't believe your dr suggested what's pretty much cry-it-out! Of course, babies want cuddles!
Hopefully you get get your lo's reflux under control.

GimbleInTheWabe · 15/11/2017 05:18

Morning all, clocking in for feed #1 after over 5 hrs sleep for DS and I Shock I’m a new woman! I’m going to do my tax return, pair that basket of odd socks, write my life story and run 10k. Just after I put him back in the snuzpod...

Took DS to the GP yesterday about the sickiness and rash/baby acne. Turns out the poor little guy has eczema as well as the suspected bit of reflux. So he’s now got some zeroderm and gaviscon but as he’s ebf the gp suggested to get some infacol too so I don’t have to bottle feed to see if that helps. She also weighed him and he is 4.88kgs so at 5 weeks that puts him on the 75th % 🙌🏻

He’s currently asleep at the bar so operation retract boob and transfer baby starts in T Minus 15 mins.

SaneAsABoxOfFrogs · 15/11/2017 05:24

Does anyone else start to do the depressing calculation of the maximum amount of sleep you might possibly get in what's left of the night? Currently trying to settle my 3 month old (as I have been for the last two hours) and all I can think of is that, if this works, I could still get an hour and a half sleep and not be late as long as I have a really quick shower in the morning and my toddler doesn't play silly buggers over breakfast...

Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 05:49

Awake again. What a rubbish night. Ds is munching again and i am already struggling.

Why.

Yes i agree. 40mins til dh alarm goes off. Ok i don't need to move but if i fall asleep i will be woken uo. Usually gets ds awake too. Although prob still be feeding.

Sigh.

GingerHanna · 15/11/2017 05:51

Well just shy of three hours between feeds plus some me windy screams in his sleep so I’m officially shattered. I’m sure he doesn’t scream this badly during the day... pretty sure it’s something to do with DH doing full feeds from the bottle and last night he did two feeds.

Changed DS before feed and he, yet again, screamed the roof down. Then pissed everywhere so I had to do a full change of clothes and start again. So he screamed some more.

I finally relented and gave him a dummy (had been trying to hold out to four weeks) and he gave it a few sucks and just let it fall out in favor of more screaming.

Now I am in the incomplete nursery /dumping room and have shut the door to try and muffle the screams. So of course one of the cats is sitting on the other side of the door scratching to come in.

mummarosie1 · 15/11/2017 05:52

Yeah have a similar countdown issue with DPs alarm clock, waking me and likely baby.

Just put DD down in her cot on her back and she was sick a little bit, I get so paranoid about her choking... any words of wisdom?

AMagdalena · 15/11/2017 06:04

mummarosie1, I wouldn't worry too much if it's just a little sick. No need to place her on her side.
My DD had a bit of a choking indcident a while back, but she has full on reflux, but I reacted instantly and she was ok in a second.

Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 06:04

Hes asleep again. After 15mins. What? He usual feeds for best parr of an hour. No idea what's going on. Too scared to move him now though

theotherendofthesockportal · 15/11/2017 06:13

Just completed feed 2, she I had now just been sick along with the hiccups. Only 3 hours between feeds, I think she is trying to kill me.

Now we are having cuddles and waiting for DH’s alarm to go off then I’m going back to sleep too.

I take back all my negative thoughts, she has just looked directly into my eyes and given me the most loving look 😍

GingerHanna · 15/11/2017 06:19

Awww sock that’s lovely. Joseph just looks at me as if to say ‘what took you so long?’ Relevant for feeds, changing, nappies etc.

AMagdalena · 15/11/2017 06:27

The baby is asleep, but I can't sleep???? WTH?!

Toonewtobehaving2 · 15/11/2017 07:26

DS woke up after two hours in the basket, so I did a little laying down feeding until 7am. Then I went down stIrs with him and made DD's morning bottle (yes I know at nearly two it should be in a cup. But she likes it and it works so...) came back and we all got in bed together. DH has already left and won't be home until Friday. DD finished her bottle and is playing in her room. DSis just finishing up on the other side. No chance of settling him though with DD's noise! How is it done?

Lovingtyrells · 15/11/2017 07:29

Couldn’t reach my phone in the night! DS Slept 2200-0000 but I was wide awake Hmm then up again every 2 hours since sometimes less. Hyperactive when I changed nappy. Also had a lot of wind which woke him a few times.

Health visitor told me to leave to cry at 9 weeks. Can’t believe its recommended by professionals.

Does a anyone have a hyper daytime baby? I miss the days he would sleep during the day !

AMagdalena · 15/11/2017 07:39

Lovingtyrells My HV said not to leave to cry until at least 1! Shocking that some are recommending it
And yes, my DD is quite hyper. 30-40 mins naps here and there (98% on me), but other than that, she's very busy.

HashtagTired · 15/11/2017 07:47

9 weeks just seems so young 😕

I am going to be making lots of rods for my back! I’m waiting until 6 months and until then he can have as many cuddles as he likes.
But yes, I may have a challenge on my hands!

Ok ok. I’m not actually sure what happened the last few hours. He wasn’t very settled. We both got broken sleep. I’m very tired but up and dressed watching hey duggee with dd, who is dressed for school. I’m dressed but I’ve left ds asleep on the bed and I’m watching him through the monitor. Dh has just left for work.

OP posts:
NinaMarieP · 15/11/2017 07:49

I fed him at 3 which was a great start to the night. Put him down at 4.

Couldn’t sleep.

He was just so restless the whole time and every time I got drowsy he woke me up. I think I got two thirty minutes sleeps between 4 and 7.

Aaaarrrrggghhh!!

HashtagTired · 15/11/2017 07:50

I’ve just found out that my dh has been snacking in the evenings because I’m not making big enough dinner portions 😂
I asked him why on earth he didn’t say, and he just said I had enough to do!
Well, if I’m cooking I need to make sure everyone has eaten enough.
(Before ds arrived we both worked full time and dd was at nursery and ate tea there. Dd and I got home at 6pm and dh would be gone before us so would make tea).

I’m really not a natural in the kitchen. In need of some inspiration. What are you guys eating??

OP posts:
Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2017 08:51

I gave up. Ds lasted another 20mins then was doing his straining in his sleep routine. I cant sleep through that.

Just horrid.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/11/2017 09:13

Night was...ok. First waking at 2am (took an age to settle him though) then 6am then slept till 830. I think the reason he sleeps so much is because he was a bit premature? Suspect he's lulling me into a false sense of security...but might as well make the most of it!

I feel rubbish though. Have a cold coming on and feel achy. At least we don't have any visits today or have to go out.

@hashtagtired we tend to stick to what we know in the kitchen and recycle the same dishes every week. We all eat together so what we have needs to be DD friendly too. So we had pizza (bought the bases but add our own toppings) last night, lentil sweet potato Dahl tonight (great for batch cooking and freezing), pasta, baked potatoes...Not very exciting but I am veggie and DH gluten free so it's a challenge! Seems to work for now...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 15/11/2017 09:16

Good luck flying solo @toonewtobehaving2. I'm dreading the end of paternity leave but at least DH will be home at night so a big hand hold for you. And CakeBrew to everyone who had bad nights. I've been eating so much crap recently, going to try and be healthy today it so won't happen
