DS has been awake since 8am and will NOT nap, used to go in the car seat and we went for a drive and he just screaming... have had to put in sling now as there is no way he is not over tierd.

@WhoAteaAllthePercyPigs

I had my second CS and it’s been harder this time round for sure. I have a feeling they had a tougher time of it this time than last due to pre existing scar tissue and I still have swelling, bruising and struggle with anything that’s not leggings.

@theotherendofthesockportal god that sounds so rough, the shock of the fire and the pain of the scar reopening, I hope you’ve told the midwife what’s happened and are getting it seen to.

I am taking a gamble with my recovery every day as I’m now flying solo with DS and DD. She’s quite a hefty toddler so I’m trying to lift her as little as possible but I’m basicalky doing as much as I was pre Section which may explain my slow recovery.

Solidarity with those still feeling delicate. Childbirth is no cakewalk no matter how many folk may think so.

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/11/2017 17:10

@TheLegendOfBeans I was lucky it want a major fire and realised what was happening before it truly burst into flames. The midwife has said I’m not too badly damaged but to take it easy and keep an eye on the scar.

I’m living in maternity leggings as they are the only thing I feel comfortable in. I may wear them forever.

HashtagTired · 12/11/2017 17:42

Well. Not sure if baby massage had something to do with it but ds did a big poo! He normally only does one a week but it was poo number two so quite unexpected!

@Hashtag Can we swap??? My DD does at least 4 poos a day!

Flowers to those still recovering from childbirth.
I was feeling overwhelmed by mine for quite a while (long labour, then ventouse delivery, nearly had emcs).
If anyone asks me about my labour, I just go 'DON'T' haha

AMagdalena · 12/11/2017 18:40

Oh and yes, another £20 gone down the drain...DD is now officially a bottle refuser Wine

HashtagTired · 12/11/2017 19:06

Anyone ever get that feeling of ‘here we go again’ about this time of the night?

Ah well. No doubt I’ll see you all on here in the early hours 🙄

Hashtag EVERY.FLIPPING.NIGHT Grin

HashtagTired · 12/11/2017 19:08

@AMagdalena oh dear on both fronts. 4 poos and bottle refuser. I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice on the latter. My dd was like that but we were able to persevere through. She liked her milk much warmer than felt right (but not hot).

OP posts:
AMagdalena · 12/11/2017 19:09

Hashtag Might try warmer milk....Thanks! (Clutching at straws)

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/11/2017 19:10

Oh yes! The feeling of night time dread, see you in a few hours. I’ll be the one rocking in the corner whilst trying not to cry. Glad I have you ladies to keep me sane.

AMagdalena · 12/11/2017 19:13

Actually DD is a poo box, bottle refuser AND a crap sleeper!
Good job she's bloody cute... Grin

DD is currently asleep on me...Read for bed.
I am only putting off the inevitable...

HashtagTired · 12/11/2017 19:30

Keep strong ladies 💪💪💪💪

Our little bundles of gas joy need us!

And yes, it’s a bloody good job they are cute!! 😂

Do yours nap frequently? Mines been awake for 3 hours so I think I'm already screwed??

mummarosie1 · 12/11/2017 19:49

Mine makes up the rules every day... yesterday refused to nap 4pm-midnight and today has been sound asleep since 4pm... i need an instruction manual 😂

Jellybabie3 · 12/11/2017 19:50

I cant get him to nap so im assuming i am in for a long night Sad

AMagdalena · 12/11/2017 19:51

We're all screwed anyway

mummarosie1 · 12/11/2017 19:55

They definitely dictate the house don’t they

Jellybabie3 · 12/11/2017 20:23

So true..

Lovingtyrells · 12/11/2017 21:02

Mine hasn’t slept since midday, bouncing around fussing all day !!! Car ride was an epic fail. Gonna be a long night... can’t even stay in bed for the day as he gets really hyper and starts thrashing and crying until I provide entertainment.

AMagdalena · 12/11/2017 21:24

Lovingtyrells Sounds really tough! Hugs to you!

Dare I put DD down is the question...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 12/11/2017 21:53

Wow, @otherendofthesockportal that sounds traumatic about the fire, how awful for you. Hope it hasn't set you back too much. And yes to the maternity leggings - I'm not chucking mine away for a long time! Agree also on just having to get on with life post section - even with DH off work I still struggle to do the bare minimum. DD was also early by 5 weeks - not a huge aunt compared to some I know - but it was still a shock and I'm still adjusting.

Yup to the feeling of here we go again! I dread the night times. Stayed up a bit later to conclude Stranger Things and know I'm going to regret not using that time to sleep. ..

Good luck all! This too shall pass...

Jellybean2017 · 12/11/2017 21:57

DS hasn't napped since 4pm and is only now drifting off laying on me. So long night here as well I think! He has a cold and sounds really snuffly so don't think I will be getting much sleep Confused

theotherendofthesockportal · 12/11/2017 21:59

@WhoAteaAllthePercyPigs how old is your DD? Mine is 4 weeks. Her due date is this Thursday. I’ve heard that the first 6 weeks are the toughest, I’m hoping to feel better in just under 2 weeks!!

NinaMarieP · 12/11/2017 22:00

Mine has slept since 4pm apart from two feeds. That’s surely far too early a bed time!!
