Grrrr!
Wondering what the chances are of getting a short break over Easter is DH ends up needing us to cancel my 40th birthday trip to somewhere much warmer for surgery on his knee?
I've already had 2 weeks skiing this season so is another (shor) snowy break asking too much if the worse case scenario does happen?!

User543212345 · 05/02/2016 07:53

dontcallme she was trying to sell us some kind of child harness. Spamtastic post.

Much - seems eminently reasonable, but check your travel insurance. Lots of policies only offer 2 weeks winter sports cover, the bastards. What did your DH do to his knee?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/02/2016 08:52

My son has been to Salt lake City, Brighton I think, he absolutely loved it there, tis on my list!!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 05/02/2016 13:41

SwearyGodmother. Good point - would they know that I've already had 2 weeks of skiing?

clam · 06/02/2016 21:02

Getting in the zone - printing off boarding passes, lift passes, accommodation voucher, etc...
Leave at 3.30am next Saturday!!! Shock

Tigresswoods · 06/02/2016 21:42

Love it. Will be doing the sane tomorrow.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/02/2016 09:06

suddenly realise we don't have insurance sorted yet!!

What is everyone using?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/02/2016 09:09

realised we needed to re do Esta as even though it ran out in the summer they get twitchy, and we pass back through Dallas. Don't leave the airport but on USA soil!

User543212345 · 07/02/2016 19:56

Much - I don't know how or if they'd know, but with my luck I'd be the person they audited on the smallest of claims. I don't know how they can even check.

Pistey - we are covered through our bank account but I did use MPI in the past for off piste stuff (our normal insurance only covers us with a guide). I think most bog standard annual policies are perfectly fine for a week on the slopes.

Still playing chicken with the holiday I want to book here - DH has the week off, we will go in 2 weeks time, I'm just waiting for them to reduce the price.

Gattabianca · 07/02/2016 20:43

Very jealous of imminent skiing holidays. Still got over a month to wait Envy
If anyone has been to PSV this year yet please could they report back?
I'm too excited. Going to decathlon tomorrow to try to find some tiny ski socks (size 7)

trixymalixy · 07/02/2016 20:49

We're in Morillon, arrived yesterday. First day skiing and was raining in the morning. Had a lovely afternoon skiing with the kids in the snow. I'm really in danger of not being able to keep up with them now though!!

puffylovett · 08/02/2016 00:11

Eek! Haven't been on here for a while, but just hopping on to say.... 5 SLEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!

Am a bit Shock at the forecast though, planning to pack the car for risk of stranding!

Tigresswoods · 08/02/2016 09:35

Good thinking. I can't wait to attempt to fit the hired chains to my hired Clio in the freezing cold up a mountain!

Iamblossom · 08/02/2016 11:54

5 sleeps here too! Whoop! Grin

lovetoskimum · 08/02/2016 14:07

God, very excited about everybody joining in !! 24 sleeps for me !!

Just need to get off the web cams :) and do some work - never !!

If you are hiring chains, get them out in the hire place and make sure they are complete and not broken etc. Up the mountain is not the place to discover this.

DH is away at the moment and having a whale of a time. Not jealous, me, no...we are off again at Easter.

lovetoskimum · 08/02/2016 14:13

packed for the DSs pretty much already. I take sleeved tops for them to wear in the evening with their jeans and then they wear the same one the next day, over thermal top and under their jacket, plus some spares to allow for meal spillages.

Mine takes slightly longer but am DETERMINED to pack light this time.
