Fancy trying out a virtual personal trainer? (NB You need to be able to get to Covent Garden, London without children...)

EA Sports are looking for 30 Mumsnetters to come along to a special event being held in Covent Garden on Wednesday May 13th between 11am and 4pm.

The event consists of:

~ A free nutritional lunch (always a priority!)

~ A chance to meet celebrity sportsman Austin Healey and nutritionist Nigel Denby plus an unconfirmed celebrity mum

~ A chance to win a Nintendo Wii and an advanced copy of the EA Sports Active game (the one that's like a virtual personal trainer)

Everyone who attends will receive a fitness bag with goodies and a chance to be among the first to play the game. They'll also be given the chance to sign up for a 30 day trial of the game. All those who sign up to the 30 day trial will be given a free copy of the game to test.

Travelling expenses up to £10 will be paid, but unfortunately they can't accommodate children on the day (something to do with it being held at the PR company's offices so health and safety issues). Dress is casual - you can come in full fitness gear, but you can also play the game in office clothes/ jeans etc.

You can spend as long or as little time as you like but they recommend that you have at least an hour or two free.
If you're interested, please sign up here

Can you come if pregnant?

CountessDracula · 27/04/2009 19:54

omg
I would do it just to get Austin#s autograph for dd!

Bink · 27/04/2009 20:23

I've applied
Really just because of the appeal of an unconfirmed celebrity mum

Don't have a Wii though. Re-reading I suspect that makes me not a contender.

I would love to do this - however, have no idea whatsoever how to work a Wii! I am however into health and fitness having lost 2 stone since Jan and training for a 10k next month

CountessDracula · 27/04/2009 20:39

if it's sheherezade goldsmith I am backing out
Her dh annoys me with his tory aspirations in my ward

GumsNRoses · 27/04/2009 20:44

Have a Wii and signed up

Vaguely · 27/04/2009 20:46

cd - you HAVE to get austins autograph for dd, even if it is sheharazaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade

Vaguely · 27/04/2009 20:47

can i just buy the game and play it at home??

southeastastra · 27/04/2009 20:49

tempted but don't have a wii, so won't be able to test the game

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 27/04/2009 21:51

I'm in. Will there be wine?

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 27/04/2009 23:20

I don't have a Wii either, but I've done it. Maybe they'll lend me one

MrsMerryHenry · 28/04/2009 00:17

I clearly didn't read the instructions properly; I was just so psyched about doing something unusual and new! I don't have a Wii either. Tried a friend's one a while ago - great laugh! So maybe I'll get one one day...knowing me it'll be when the Wii has been usurped by some new-fangled thingy and is on the way out.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 28/04/2009 07:33

Don't think I could wangle 2 nights away from here and don't have a Wii either

carriemumsnet · 28/04/2009 10:08

Just thought I'd clarify that you don't need to own a Wii in order to go to the event in Covent Garden - and indeed everyone who turns up will be entered into a draw to win one. But if you want to do the 30 day trial of the game (ie get a free copy of the EA Sports Active game) you will need to have a wii.

Hope that makes it a bit clearer and thanks to all those who have signed up so far.

If you can't get to London, can you sign up just for the 30 day trial?

naughtynoonoo · 28/04/2009 19:19
