How can you, in all conscience, allow this to appear on the site?

Please make it stop.

Crikey! Someone really hasn't thought that through!

Rallentanda · 04/09/2025 08:03

Fucking nora!!

CeciliaDuckiePond · 04/09/2025 08:05

Good grief!

Shedmistress · 04/09/2025 08:07

Crikey, that surpasses the 'I'm fucking my aunt' one!

Funsummerfun · 04/09/2025 08:17

Yikes! I know this doesn't solve the wider issue that it's on here at all, but i think you can click the little blue triangle thing/3 dots at the top right and say you don't want to see it - although I've just tried it on the ads I can see and it's just taking me to the website of the advertiser so maybe not ...

BCBird · 04/09/2025 08:19

At first glance I thought what's the issue. I soon realised what you meant. Offensive

BCBird · 04/09/2025 08:21

Is there anyway we can report for being offensive? We are able to report people who post for being offensive. Would have expected MNHQ to have to vet adverts.

BrassyPalm · 04/09/2025 08:23

Jeezus, MN - WTF?

Namechange1963 · 04/09/2025 08:23

Please can someone explain?

PrincessofWells · 04/09/2025 08:23

May be they have and it is saying exactly what they want it to say. It needs withdrawing immediately.

Lifejigsaw · 04/09/2025 08:23

i agree it’s offensive and needs dealing with but there is a fundamental misunderstanding on this site as to how adverts are ‘picked’. Mumsnet sells ad space to ad organisations, not individual companies. They’ll have agreements on what types of ads are/aren’t ok but something like this will have been vetted by the company not Mumsnet.

That may be so, but mumsnet have allowed a number of racist threads to remain and it makes one start to wonder if there's an agenda here.

They've used skin tone colours for the heads.

user1471522343 · 04/09/2025 08:28

Is it that the whiter you are the cleverer you are. If so it took me a while to work out what the problem was.
Maybe that’s part of the problem too - not recognising subliminal messaging (which is actually the point of subliminal messaging of course).

Namechange1963 · 04/09/2025 08:28

Oh my word. Now I can't unsee it, that is awful. Yes totally agree it should be gone. Thanks @GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut
@MNHQ

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/09/2025 08:31

Agreed. Please get rid of it!

(Not in the same league, but I'm sorry to see the Ann Summers adverts back. I loathe them.)

OliviaBonas · 04/09/2025 08:31

That is shocking! 😮

Namechange1963 · 04/09/2025 08:31

I've also "reported" the post, so hopefully someone at MNHQ sees it, removes it, and deals with whomever they have sold the space to.

Edmontine · 04/09/2025 08:40

@Lifejigsaw I don’t give a fig for how adverts are picked. MNHQ can see my real name - there can be no fundamental misunderstanding about how deeply offensive I find this advert.

I want it banned from the site.

Omg that’s awful.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2025 08:42

That is truly awful.

They don’t hand pick ads but I agree @Edmontine thats irrelevant. There should be some vetting involved.

PrincessofWells · 04/09/2025 08:42

I've also reported it.

It’s hardly subliminal. It’s very obvious.

mysodapop · 04/09/2025 08:44

Should absolutely be deleted off the internet, but yes, Mumsnet will have no direct control or approval of this ad. They need to contact whoever they sell advertising to, the company that manages that. They should also be sanctioned for letting this one through.

Mumof2amazingasdkiddos · 04/09/2025 08:47

I would also like to add my voice that I too find this racist and would expect MNHQ to do a better job at vetting what ads they allow on the site
