I'm packed and ready and am going to refuse bail if it is 'on the table'. I've decided I am staying 'in the clink' and will not be 'sprung by my briefs'. I've re-packed my case with more sensible, warm, outfits and am leaving my jewellery at home. I will be writing articles for The Guardian and Daily Mail whilst I am incarcerated- different slants obviously.
I am vegan and that had better be catered for, including non-dairy milk in my tea. DH says there will be so many of us we may not have a private cell and may have to share a bathroom- this is my biggest worry if I'm completely honest. I have packed anti-bacterial wipes so I can give the surfaces a wipe down. I expect we'll be allowed a daily shower and to wash and style our hair- if not, that would definitely be a signifucant factir in how long I'm prepared to stay.
Are reading materials provided? I've packed a couple of 'Rumpoles' and my 'Ghosts' book (incase there is no tv in my cell and I miss the last episode on Christmas Day, although DH says all cells have a tv these days).
I am in this for the long haul, as long as I'm arrested before 5pm today because I'll be getting ready to go out to dinner with DH after that........I could get MIL to give the rozzers my mobile number if they come to the house when we're out, and I can tell them where they can find me - but I will resist arrest until after the desserts.
I understand there are often a good range of afternoon leisure classes 'in the clink' and I was hoping to do an art one. I usually paint in acrylics but am thinking I might try oils if there's a class available- I've been wanting to have a go with oils and it seems like an ideal opportunity, particularly if the tutor is good.
Thought I might put my name down for a prison visitor- my cousin does this in London so if I am in the Scrubs he might be able to pop in with a few odds and ends for me. DH thinks it is likely to be Durham, as that's the nearest but I'm going to ask about the Scrubs as I haven't seen my cousin for a while.
