It's universal as a respect issue. It's misogynism that's the problem, nothing else.

Exactly.

Instead of arguing about what race or country the majority of predators come from and how to ‘stop them coming here’.
Why not focus on the misogynistic behaviour that is underlying in so many males all over the world.

If this country stomped out misogyny, then it wouldn’t matter what country of origin the men were from.

On the other thread several posters said that the police won’t do anything out of fear of being labelled racist - they don’t care about that, it’s the fact that the police force is still inherently misogynistic.
Yet some posters will ignore this and choose to continue to play the race card.

In every single post on all of the threads on this subject, sexist attitudes are at the centre of them all.

Why not? We are a much smaller country with a higher population proportionally. They have a much larger land mass with only a quarter more people than we have. Of course they should take more!

Not sure where you get these fairytales from (ok, guess it's pretty obvious.)

In actual facts, Germany has a population density of 232/km2 and the UK, 272/km2. Big fucking difference. In contrast, the Netherlands have roughly twice that and STILL manage to take in refugees.

Just pathetic. In particular considering neither Germany nor the Netherlands had the slightest role in generating a flood of refugees out of Iraq for starters.

I do think it's a large concentrations of unaccompanied, mostly young, sometimes poorly educated and when not quickly disappointed that their education opens no doors to well paid work, men not allowed to work and having been through traumatic experiences and landed somewhere allegedly "safe" but completely unfamiliar problem.

Not that dissimilar to sending big "stag" / "bachelor " groups to certain holiday resorts in Spain, except sending them long term with no likelihood of returning to a safe home and job/ study, and no access to a bank account or the bank of mum and dad...

But there is sometimes a cultural element - its not controversial to say that negative stereotypes of western women (as indiscriminately promiscuous and available sexually) exist in some cultues just as UK culture harbours widely held stereotypes of middle Eastern or north African men.

It doesn't mean everyone from any given culture thinks that but every culture has its stereotypes which are believed by a big segment of the population, and those internalised beliefs do impact how some people behave and what more people condone.

ClaribelLowLieth · 28/11/2022 19:33

British born men might be bad but why import MORE horrible men?!

FlissyPaps · 28/11/2022 19:37

The biggest threat to this country are the arrogant, selfish, greedy Tory party.

Not foreigners. Never have been, never will be.

Someone please link some data from some credible sources, not tabloids, that prove OP’s point.

Justthisonce12 · 28/11/2022 19:38

We aren’t talking about random attacks though. The target Women need educating rather than just protecting. My relatives work in care and has physically dragged girls out of cars who are willingly getting in to be gang raped in exchange for cigarettes. Nobody is looking out for them long term until they get pregnant then the cycle continues.

Worried about replying in this thread but here goes
I think some men from different cultures coming into Britain is problematic when they don’t grasp our culture. This has nothing to do with religion as Christianity is the most misogynistic of them all in my view. I don’t know the answers. It’s not racial or religious. I think some men absorb the relics of their culture more than others.

We can't really compare ourselves to Germany. Germany takes in WAY more refugees than us and when those incidents were reported, they had taken 1.1 million! In the same year we took in 30, 000.

Angela Merkel's response to a drop in the German population were a pragmatic support to German industry, not an act of charity.

Why do you say Christianity is the most misogynistic of all religions?

socialmedia23 · 28/11/2022 19:47

I think we need to involve local community leaders in fighting these attitudes if we want to be productive or it would look racist.

Goingforarun · 28/11/2022 19:48

This is the worst thread ever mathematically and logically and factually incompetent.

CarefreeMe · 28/11/2022 19:48

People like you are the reason thousands of CHILDREN are victims to grooming gangs.

CHILDREN are statistically much more at risk from white, British men than foreign.

Which would make sense considering that children are more likely to be attacked by someone close to them.

I don't support economical migrants so I've a clear conscience. You support them, don't moan about them.

MumsTheWordFact · 28/11/2022 19:54

Germany shouldn't take more immigrants than the UK, we should both take far, far less. I absolutely weep for our daughters' and granddaughters' futures. They will come to loathe us for what we've done. We had no right to give away their future.

Those people saying all races and cultures commit sexual assaults are factually correct but are either ignorant or disingenous. The breakdown of prisoners inside for sexual assault does not at all match up with the percentages of the general population down religious lines. Not at all.

Peedoffo · 28/11/2022 19:57

A little tip I was sexually assaulted at the age of 13 in a country with a culture of women not being valued. I know not to smile at men from this culture they see it as you are flirting with them. Always have a resting bitch face it sounds so sad but any friendliness can be seen as a come on. It's served me well over the years.

littleburn · 28/11/2022 20:00

Bigger picture is males as a social group are a threat to women, regardless of nationality or ethnicity or religion. That's the impact of centuries of patriarchal culture and then throw in the availability of extreme internet porn over the last two decades into the mix ...

The impact of particular cultural views is a part of that bigger picture, but we can't go all 'not my Nigel' about this and siphon off certain subgroups of men as dangerous or not dangerous to women. ALL men in this country need educating about women's rights, regardless of where they were born or their ethnicity or religion. As a country we need to be much more pro-active about addressing misogyny and the problem of male violence towards woman. 'Othering' it away as an issue that's only about certain subgroups and labelling it as a cultural or religious issue obscures this.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 28/11/2022 20:00

The misogyny (often legalised) towards females in the global majority cultures is devastating. Women here do need to be able to talk about it.

CarefreeMe · 28/11/2022 20:01

@BernardBlacksMolluscs

How do you feel about doctors, lawyers etc?

Is it just the lower class men you have an issue with or any man who isn’t British?

Not being goady, genuinely wondering.

I'd rather the person who took my appendix out was a doctor and the person who did my conveyencing was a layer

did you have a specific question?

a question that isn't goady as fuck for example?

In the UK w are so concerned with not appearing racist. It's very telling that the majority of asylum seekers are young males.
I'm not suggesting for a minute that there are people fleeing from their countries for legitimate reasons.
Where I live there are so many Kurdish businesses. The shopkeepers are very open about how they arrived in the UK and they are willing to share their guidance as to how to get citizenship.
I say this as someone who has lived in the area for 40 years and I'm nobody's fool.
The UK is a holiday camp for immigrants

This has not always been the way.
In the 50s, 60s70s even, immigrant people came here to worn legitimately.
I'm white British and a minority where I live but we are enmeshed with one another.
It's out government that's to blame for the housing crisis.

We are not fuckiing Butlins.

Excellent post!!

We need to focus on addressing misogyny, which in turn will not only address men’s views from certain cultures or religions but also men who don’t even have the excuse of culture but are still misogynistic twats anyway.

Instead of singling out Pakistani men, then Iraqi men, then African men, then gypsy travellers, then Christians……. which would literally take forever as many men’s upbringing are shrouded in misogyny, why not just address misogyny as a whole.

This is acceptable, this isn’t.
Regardless of age, race, country of origin etc.
