Yes, I do too because I am basically paranoid - but it does not help the OP and sites should be secure.

The responses from @MNHQ are very unsatisfactory.

Anyone who's had her posts reported may well have had her email address disclosed to the post-reporter.

Given that we KNOW there is targeted reporting of posts in some areas of MN - especially FWR, by TRAs and MRAs, this is really problematic.

MNHQ seem quite blasé at this very basic breach of trust. No wonder no-one will pay for MN Premium.

i think Justine knows that posting the OP’s deleted posts makes it clear who she is (you don’t have to have been here for long to work it out) and knows that OP is generally disliked/ frequently deleted therefore people won’t care that her data has been breached as much as they would if she was a popular poster. Cheap shot from MNHQ

That said, blaming human error is even worse - surely it has to be automated following a report.

Any employee should not have access to anybody's personal information. This should be buried in a database so that any human likely to make an error can only see user22356 and user22356@mail

It is quite astounding that the tech is so basic and it sounds like users have been cc'd in to each other.

My email address is my real first and surnames@... The latter has an unusual spelling and I could pretty much instantly be identified and found in real life.

See I think that’s very spiteful. You can dislike someone’s posts but for the HQ to use backend information to reveal that poster’s identity and then go on to highlight the posts is an abuse of power.

Yeah the doxxing on there is happening every time I look, and I don’t look often. I really don’t want to look now. They will be loving this.

So in 7 or so hours only 20 people had their posts reported to be affected by this?

As an aside, I’m guessing the fact Justine has publicly reposted the reported posts means they are all actually ok in the first place?

And yes this is a huge deal re privacy and GDPR.

There are two seperate issues here.

The first is the sharing of the OP’s email address which needs to be accounted for and MN HQ were in the wrong.

The second is the sharing of the posts which is fair enough IMO. Those posts were posted on the threads in question by the OP. She chose to post them there, and it was other users who took offence and reported them hence why they were removed.

So all mn hq have done is to essentially reinstate those posts but on another thread so as to show the OP which posts were reported.

And the posts were bloody unpleasant and deserved to be deleted, and the OP has not only been painting herself as a victim for her email address being shared, which obviously she is, but for posts of hers being deleted, which she isn’t. IMO she’s lucky she only had posts deleted for those comments and wasn’t banned entirely.

So while I do care that anyone’s email address has been shared, don’t give a toss that the posts which led to the reports and deletions have been shared.
