Utterly disgraceful! I'm not sure how on earth Mumsnet have justified this one. Op was in no way uncivil towards trans people.

A predominately woman-centric forum, discussing maternity services and the chat is shut down because the majority weren't pandering to trans-ideology nonsense by stating only women can birth babies.

I was thinking about signing up for the premium as a way of thanking @MNHQ for being a balanced space where women are actually allowed to discuss the effects on our services of biological reality being ignored by extremists.

The thread was riddled with homophobia and transphobia. The op's original post literally said they were uncomfortable about the picture of a pregnant transman. Didn't give a reason, just said that a photo of a transperson made them uncomfortable. That's transphobia. Someone else ridiculed the idea that a hospital would put any resources (even the 5p it costs to print a poster) into catering to LGBT people. That's homophobic and transphobic. then other people were using hypothetical muslim women as a perfectly acceptable reason to be bigoted against transmen seeking maternity care. That's racism.

If you can't see that, then you've probably spent too much time on FWR.

I think a lot of the problem is that trans views now seem to be the only opinions that matter, and no one else is allowed to express a view.......

I wonder if this post will now be reported as transphobic and deleted by MNHQ?

If MN deleted all threads where people were uncivil there'd be none left. Why special rules for this one?
