@StevenTechMumsnet
Hi there, once threads are over 100 (or maybe 50?) posts not every post sends them to the top of active. Fair point that that makes less sense in the middle of the night when there are fewer posts around. We'll mention to the product people. It might be something they can look at on the new platform.
This doesn't seem to fit with the problem being experienced with the OP and all posters on these threads

Both these threads usually take 5 posts to get them into Active. This is usually somewhere in Active and not the top. Then, more often than not, rather than gradually dropping down the Active list, they drop out of it like a stone.
I was advised by MNHQ to bump my thread hourly to get it into Active but that just does not work.
Such is the problem that several posters have been comparing what happens with these two threads with what happens with other threads appearing in Active. Other threads, even those over 50/100 posts, appear in Active after one or two posts and can still be in Active, slowly dropping down the list, even when there have been no posts on them for 40 minutes or so. And yet, the above threads, with more recent posts have disappeared from Active.
It leaves posters feeling frustrated and concerned that 2 important threads, about supporting the mother of a missing child - something we all believe Mumsnet should actually want to get behind - are being treated less favourably than other threads.
A while ago, I reported a similar problem with an unconnected thread not appearing in Active. I received a quick and cheery response back from MNHQ, basically saying 'we've sorted that for you now' and my understanding was that the algorithms applied to that thread in terms of getting an equal go with Active had been re-adjusted. Whatever was done, it worked, and that thread then performed like any other thread and right up to having 1000 posts.
Can something similar be done for the above two threads please?
