Thread not showing in my Active list.

I posted on a thread and it didn't appear on the Active page. This is at stupid o'clock in the morning. Another thread in Active had been last posted on 50minutes before my post.

I'm using Chrome on Andriod.

I'm not sure why the pp with a compassion and sensitivity bypass wants to post on a thread concerning a tragically deceased child s/he is not interested in.

No, it appeared in Active because we are posting on it about longstanding problems with the algorithms set on Noah's threads.

People then hijacked it, most unintentionally I'm sure, with posts about the revamp problems.

I'm having so many problems. I can't log in. I've felted and reinstalled the app.

Ask to have the title changed to reflect the specific topic of concern to some posters here (Noah).

As it stands, the title looks like a current problem, which is understandably drawing the attention of people pissed off with the functionality of MN after the revamp.

This is getting a bit silly now @TheRealMrsMac. The OP was not started with Noah specifically in mind as evidenced in her links and screenshots. Just because you've hijacked it doesn't mean you can dictate what others post. If you want a specific thread then you'd be better off starting your own.

OK, one last message to correct the above three derailers but then I will ignore any more. I am dealing with more important things and prefer to use my energy for good, rather than on posters who want to keep returning to this thread for reasons best known to themselves when they have been politely asked not to do so.

The OP of this thread did start it about an earlier problem she was having with Active. Then, as she is very involved on the Noah threads, she returned to this thread to raise issues about Active in relation to the Noah threads. She invited the rest of us who are involved with the Noah threads onto her thread here to do the same.

This thread came up in Active because we were posting on it. Some people then mistook it for a thread about the new platform issues and posted on it by mistake. When we realised this was happening, we explained and politely asked for that to stop. Most people have taken the point that posting on this thread about general site problems is not appropriate and have gone on to post elsewhere. There are many, many such threads in Site Stuff and elsewhere already or they could start their own. Some even were kind enough to apologise and offered their support to what we are trying to do for Noah and his grieving mummy Fiona.

Three posters want to continue to return to this thread to highjack, derail, try to point score and argue on a thread concerning a tragically deceased child. They object to this thread being about Noah. They want to take it over too, when they already have so many threads of their own about the new platforming issues. What does that say about them? It says to me that they have no sensitivity, no compassion, and that they are not worth trying to reason politely with further.

@TheRealMrsMac didn't hijack his thread. I started it due to inconsistency with an active thread not appearing in Active. As I and other posters were experiencing the same thing on the Noah Donohoe threads, I resurrected it and linked it.

It has nothing to do with the recent changes. Sorry if anyone feels mislead or has posted here thinking MNHQ will take any notice.💙

Appealing to posters not to post about functionality of the current incarnation of MN may well work for potential posters who have set their threads to show the last post first but will probably not work for anyone who reads the OP first and then posts in response.

The OP has zero evidence of any concern apart from a problem with Active, which many current posters are also experiencing.

Also, you are not doing your cause any favours getting pissy with people who have made an honest mistake.

I emailed MNHQ as this new thread for Noah is taking up to 10 posts to appear in Active. Yes, TEN:

This is the rather callous reply I eventually received. It is of note that, unusually, it isn't signed but I have a good idea who sent it:
'Hi again, and thanks for your email.
We don't have 'unsupportive' people 'fiddling with' our algorithms.
We appreciate that this probably isn't what you want to hear, but we have an algorithm for threads that appear in Active. We're sorry that your threads aren't featured as much as you'd like but it's not something that we're going to be able to change at the moment.

Do you really think there are little goblins living inside Mumsnet purposefully hiding your threads? They likely don't appear in Active because it's the same couple of posters posting the same text back and forth to each other. There was another poster who used to start threads about herself and bump them every five minutes with an emoji. They also didn't often appear in Active because it was only active for one person.
