MN very slow and keep getting this error message

Been having problems with mn this morning, it is horrendously slow and then I keep getting this error message as well
Not sure if it is just me
I am on iPad safari using desktop (because I cannot access the mobile site)

Hi all, We've been suffering a DDOS attack since approx 11.30 this am. Our firewalls are most working but that does mean that you get the message 'checking your browser' message and that the app is out of action for now. Big apologies - we're obviously doing our best to resolve.
I have been getting this for a few days now

Yep this thread was started yesterday, and posters have been reporting problems for a few days before this. I wonder if it's been under attack for a while, and they just waited until the weekend when things are often less supervised to really go for it.

Basically where someone tries to break a website by flooding it with bot hits. Stands for distributed denial of service

Or it could be that MNs IT department is still run like its still from the kitchen table.

Maybe they could spend some of their premium money on to decent IT and moderation

Ah, that explains the captcha I just had to solve to get in.

People please don’t blame the website provider for attacks by outside entities trying to destroy the website.
