400 Bad Request

FreezerBird · 21/12/2020 22:22

I'm getting this message constantly on Mumsnet over the last couple of days.

I can generally click from active onto the first page of a thread (but not always) but then clicking 'next' to get to page two is, the majority of the time, met with a blank white screen with the text.:
"400 Bad Request
Your browser made an invalid request"

This is only happening on Mumsnet.

I'm using the ecosia app on Android. Will clear cache and see if that helps.

Hi OP

This sounds like a potential issue with the browser - are you able to get a screenshot of the error for us and if possible, try a different browser so we can (hopefully) isolate the issue?

FreezerBird · 22/12/2020 19:58

Will do. Seems better today although still happening occasionally. It's only happening with Mumsnet.

This same issue is happening for me for about 5 or 6 days I think. Just tried on chrome and it is okay so far. When I try on Samsung Internet it gives bad request all the time (or fails to respond).

ThisMustBeMyDream · 23/12/2020 18:30

This is the error message.

Doesn't seem to have attached. Will try again.

I am getting this too on my phone - running Chrome on a Samsung galaxy S8.

I can access it all fine from my laptop, and can access other websites on my phone but mumsnet and my phone do not like each other.

KihoBebiluPute · 27/12/2020 19:02

Meant to add - I can see the "Active threads" and "threads I'm on" pages fine, but I get the 400 Bad Request identical to the above if I try to open any threads

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 27/12/2020 19:04

I've been having this happen for around 2 weeks now, I started using the app because it had made the site unusable for me, although I have gone back to using the main site sometimes and its happening less frequently

giletrouge · 27/12/2020 19:05

I had the same thing happening on Edge - switched to Firerfox no probs, Edge still won't let me use mumsnet - will give me the home page but can't click through to anything.

PickAChew · 28/12/2020 11:54

I've been getting 502 errors, since last night, both on Firefox on my Windows 10 laptop and chrome on android. You need to feed the hamsters.

  1. Above was 504, which I'm also getting. Both at your end.

I keep getting a 'no connection' message.

FreezerBird · 28/12/2020 12:06

Switched to chrome, which seemed better but now I'm getting the 503 message as above on there.

I think the hamsters have had too much sherry.

dementedpixie · 28/12/2020 12:07

I'm getting it too

CuriousaboutSamphire · 28/12/2020 12:08

I get a notice about having poor connection. Only on Mumsnet, I can roam t'internet freely on any other site.

It seems quite random.

Android phone, chrome...

Jackabobbo · 28/12/2020 12:08

It's been happening to me today too. Android phone, Chrome browser.

JazzyGeoff · 28/12/2020 12:08

Same issue here as per those screenshots- Safari.

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/12/2020 12:09

I think my hamster is dead, keep getting error and my internet is slow too.

CharityEscapeGoat · 28/12/2020 12:09

@mnhq I've had the same error message as @PickAChew for the last 10 minutes or so, I couldn't get onto MN at all. Other tabs & websites fine, & our wifi has been fine throughout.

starrynight19 · 28/12/2020 12:09

Yes me to been happening for last couple of days. Just won’t upload any threads then saying bad connection or errors.

Honeyroar · 28/12/2020 12:09

It’s happened to me a few times this week too.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 28/12/2020 12:10

Lots today too. I did get a message saying that there were too many people trying to access the site so assumed it was a load of twits trying to knock the site over.

ProudAuntie76 · 28/12/2020 12:10

Same here. Using Chrome but on an iPhone.

Inextremis · 28/12/2020 12:10

I'm getting the 504 error too. Laptop, running Chrome.

AllIWantForXmasIsLouMumsnet · 28/12/2020 12:16

Hi there, everyone - sorry to hear that you've been plagued by the dreaded 504 message this morning. It's affecting us mods here too. Angry

We've asked our Tech team to take a look at things from their end.
