Hi all,
We've released a new quote feature (finally you might say). I've attached some screenshots to show you where it's housed on site. Please give it a go so we can check it's working ok for all and across devices. We've taken the decision not to include threading for now - both because it would have been a lot more dev time and because it can affect the flow of conversations but this is something we can revisit in time if folks prefer. Please do let us know what you think/ further improvements etc. Big thanks.

Is this what has crashed the server?

"If Tech is blued up then that means they have special access rights etc, which is not what you want them to have if they are trying out features. You need Tech people to be seeing what we the users are seeing not some hyped up 'admin rights' version."

I didn't realise "blued up" was linked to all sorts of Admin Privileges. It is just handy having a way to easily identify someone who is speaking on behalf of Mumsnet when there are techie things on the go.

TeenPlusTwenties · 29/05/2020 19:10

Mole I didn't really mean admin rights per se. Just that obviously to recognise someone was worthy of blue background there has to be some identifying software going on somewhere which marks those names/accounts as 'special'. Especially for formatting, that means they aren't going through exactly the same code as everyone else. So when working out whether formatting changes are working, that could be a bit dodgy.

The tech folk who bravely venture onto threads should appear in red, like the Star Trek shirts.

That would mean they're first to die...!!

@BIWI

If you quote someone, do they get a notification like they do when we @ them?
No, but if you are @ in a message that is quoted, you are notified you have been mentioned in a post.
