Does MNHQ Check Our Inboxes?

Just wondering. I received a private message and sent 2 replies and now the recipient has received a message from MNHQ saying the replies were removed at my request. Except that's not true, I made no such request.

So has MN been hacked or not?

No, it hasn't.

• MN have offered the choice of signing up to premium. (You can or don't have to, up to you)

• Some posters have taken the hump, thrown their toys out of the pram and gone to make their own site as "there's is better." Apparently.

• Then they're spamming MN users pm's with links to the new site, and spamming the boards too.

• MN don't allow spamming of boards, so deleted the pms and any thread links.

• Toy throwers have accused MN of being all North Korea and also several tin hat theories have been thrown around.

The thing is, the other site has zero interest in all MN members joining it. There are far too many negative, trolling, aggressive posters on MN who won't be welcome.

As others have said it's perfectly possible to belong to more than one forum. There is a stark difference currently between the two and hopefully it will stay that way.

There are lots of guests reading the boards over there and it's fascinating to see which threads they are reading. No doubt some of them are people from here who just want to find something negative they can talk about on here and I'm sure some of MN's 100 staff have been assigned to keep a close eye.

Someone expressed concern about them having our e-mail address - are you aware that if you pay MN, your money and other info will be held by a company with a 2.5* Poor rating? I would be more concerned about that than someone sending me an e-mail.

So classless the way the other site is functioning off the troubles of mumsnet. Absolutely awful! And the bashing seems to be giving them some blood. Fine, make your site but why be a dick to a site that's provided you with whatever you've been here all this time for? Not like you're tied to this site ffs

I can't see why the other site has been spamming here, I mean it's possible to be a member of both sites? I went to have a look and with all the MN bashing and spam messages to here then why would I have wanted to join? I'm not especially loyal to MN, I'll go to any site which suits me but I won't be going to one that is intentionally being aggressive to another site.

It's a free world, anyone can be a member, paying or not, of whatever they want?

What is interesting is which sites can be mentioned and which cannot... although I do appreciate that some individuals (she who cannot be named and the Portugal couple are litigous).

“The Portugal couple” hired Carter Ruck (known and feared as ferocious libel lawyers) and issued legal warnings to many media organisations. I’d guess Mumsnet was one of them, (or else they just took note of the ££££s damages several newspapers had to pay to the Portugal couple).

You cannot blame MNHQ for not wanting to be litigated out of existence.

I looked at the “new” forum and it seems like it’s mostly banned MNers. Several of the most infamous trolls who used to post here before being kicked off (like those racist Meghan Markle nutcases) are already frequent posters over there.

I must take another look then, if it doesn't suffer from this type of ridiculous hyperbole and its members are allowed to criticise without that type of virtue shaming that's making MN increasingly nannified.

I see @ArriettyJones. Well then. I stand corrected. Although I can't see what leg they have to stand on when they're being discussed all over the world.

They are also not the same as slebs in any way. I was wrong to equate the two. I should have said other high profile individuals.

Been nosing around. Only fake smiles and niceness there. People are afraid to express real opinions. Admin seems trigger happy to censor anyone not up her/his arse or anti-mumsnet or claiming to be all about glitters and sunshine. You're welcome to slag off Mumsnet, Reddit and slebs anytime, day or night but you're not allowed to speak up about what's going wrong within the site 'community'. Some people have already been banned cos of it. Comments with differing opinions, normal arguments or ones that question the Admins are removed. It's like they're maintaining the look of perfection cos others are watching. Meanwhile things are being swept under the carpet. Some ex Mumsnet trolls about, cosying up to Admin and taking over. All a matter of time before things go belly up
