I hope this interaction continues, it's going well.
The problem with things like this, is that it's a cycle.
On friday a thread starts about disabled toilets on AIBU
MNHQ get the standard "This isn't going to end well" reports, and watch the thread.
Saturday comes, presumably the saturday staff aren't aware of the trouble brewing because they weren't there to receive fridays reports or whatever.
Chaos errupts on the thread, but there is a backlog at HQ so there is no imediate response....
Mumsnet captin: "OH fuck 220 post being deleted we can't keep doing this we need to delete the threead!"
Mumsnet Scotty: "ye Cannae Do it Cap'n! ye cannae delete a thread cause of er troll"
Mumsnet captin: "Quickly before more people get hurt"
The posters on that thread who have just spent 12 hours defending their right to be human (Or klingon) then start a thread in site stuff.
"Why has this happened again HQ."
So HQ spend more time carefully writing a response, which leaves the people being abused / attacked to get worked up ready to snap again when the response is finally posted.
The press release is posted, it generally answers nothing becuase it was put together hours before and the thread is now 400 posts long amd people are getting more annoyed at the lack of answers.
So the people the abuse is aimed at get more frustrated at the lack of HQ intervention and communication, Which leads to some posters being so worked up by the time HQ step in that they outburst, occsionally this has been unwarrented personal attacks on HQ staff, which is unfair.
Which leads to HQ carefully preparing another statement....
And the cycle continues until friday, when the troll threads start again, the same goady fuckers post on them, trolls sit home wanking all weekend.
In an ideal world people would be able to switch off and leave the threads alone, unfortunatly it's very hard when the attacks are aimed at you or are questioning your right to have certain toilet facilities to your needs or having to have a space on the bus made for your wheelchair.
