Browsing mumsnet using the chrome browser on an android phone.

Opened a thread "www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2729635-Im-being-watched-WATCHED" on an "open in new tab" but the new tab opened with a spam advert page of the kind that tries to make you not navigate away. I presume this is an unintended hijack of some kind.

I copied the content of the navigation field in case it is of use to you but it seems to be gibberish.

This seems to happen quite regularly - what kind of info will help you to stop it?

Is there any update on this Mumsnet HQ?

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 25/09/2016 09:06

It's still happening.
Kicks me off MN every time.

I can't think it has anything to do with our geographical position - I've had it on opposite ends of the country in the past week.

Everyone seems to be on Chrome on an Android phone.

Please get this sorted out.

BarryTheKestrel · 25/09/2016 09:08

This is still happening with almost every link. It's starting to make the website completely unusable.

Bellatrixandstrange · 25/09/2016 09:12

It's happened again from the relationship thread about the joint account

DrinkReprehensibly · 25/09/2016 09:12

JeNeSuis: I'm not on Chrome. I'm using the in-built Samsung browser. Was having an (unrelated) bug with Chrome yesterday so I've tried uninstalling it for a few days. Still get this advert hi-jack.

Just had this again. I was on the weird friends sleepover thread. What's going on?

Hi

I am in touch with a few other reputable publishers who are also experiencing this issue.
Please know it is not intentional behavior and we are all working together to find the rogue buyer.

TheRedCarWon · 25/09/2016 10:03

It's still happening here. It didn't seem to matter which thread I click on I still get them. They don't seem to be particularly aimed at me based on my preferences either. It's so bloody annoying.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 25/09/2016 10:06

Just adding, in case it hasn't been mentioned before (can't be bothered to RTFT): I deleted all web data from my android phone yesterday and was looking at MN un-logged in afterwards and I still got the pop up. Really annoying.

Fallulah · 25/09/2016 10:31

Yes me too. It congratulates me as an EE user. Only happens on mumsnet and only at home on my android phone

InScotlandwetrust · 25/09/2016 10:37

I've been having this problem as well. Using Chrome on samsung.

Only happening on mumsnet

StressheadMcGee · 25/09/2016 10:44

I got a different one this morning - came up as the Amazon one but then changed to this :

Also happening to me. Chrome on Samsung.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 25/09/2016 10:51

Yet again this morning. The usual BT one.

I tried yesterday only using mobile data but it still came up although referred to me as a "3 user" - which I am. Clearly it correctly identidies which broadband or data supplier you use.

MyBeloved · 25/09/2016 10:52

Happened again. Very pissed off now.

Thecatgotmytongue · 25/09/2016 11:01

I've had this too, in the early hours of the morning today, didn't screen shot. I'm using the mobile site on chrome on Android, Samsung s5, location South Wales. I've had it before, not sure of dates then not for a while until early this morning.

poppetsandbears · 25/09/2016 11:11

I am still getting this on my wileyfox swift android phone with chrome browser

I am in London zone 2 if mnhq do want to check out my phone!

It happens infrequently though, maybe every half hour, always on opening a new talk topic

poppetsandbears · 25/09/2016 11:12

And only happening on mumsnet.

Recently my Tesco app has started running v slowly, but otherwise my phone is working normally

CBW · 25/09/2016 11:24

In Greater London, using Chrome on a Moto G. Nothing new installed recently.
Happens when I click on the mumsnet digest email and open up a hot thread.
Makes me not want to use mumsnet anymore. This feels like my phone has been compromised by clicking on a mumsnet link.
Does anyone have a solution to clean my phone ?
Can anyone confirm what has actually happened ?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/09/2016 11:25

Glasgow, mobile site, chrome, android 7
