Browsing mumsnet using the chrome browser on an android phone.

Opened a thread "www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2729635-Im-being-watched-WATCHED" on an "open in new tab" but the new tab opened with a spam advert page of the kind that tries to make you not navigate away. I presume this is an unintended hijack of some kind.

I copied the content of the navigation field in case it is of use to you but it seems to be gibberish.

This seems to happen quite regularly - what kind of info will help you to stop it?

Now I'm getting pop ups from the bottom of the screen, saying somthing like "Rats! WEB GL HIT A SNAG" and then options to reload or ignore. The tab I'm browsing doesn't crash.

(Android Galaxy S5)

I am also getting scary scam ads on my android phone, pops up with buzzing sound, says from BT, have won a prize or suchlike, cannot close or leave page. Have to uninstall Chrome to get rid. It happened twice this week, ONLY when looking at MN. Will not be risking this again.

I have logged back in, very tentatively. I'm still getting a lot of problems with my Kindle Fire with messages saying access to MN is not private. That concerns me a lot. I am prompted to clear caches after each visit and that logs me out.

I got the invasive ad this morning when I used my phone to access a weather app that was pre-installed on my phone. I had no problems with anything until it appeared here on MN. I am holding MN entirely at fault for this.

All quiet but I have not been here much today.

Please let us know even if you do not see them.

Thanks

They don't close down! No matter what you click it takes you to their webpage. All you can do is close the webpage and start again.

Hi
Sorry for the lack of communication, however, we are working with multiple partners at the moment to stop this and most of them have only just come online.
You are all aware but to re-iterate please do not click on these spammy popups and just try and close them down.
We are working on finding the route cause.
Keep your feedback coming please, as it is really helpful.
