I was adapting his "they aren't women's clothes, they are my clothes I bought them" stance which I think is valid.

For clarity, my use of this specific quote should not be taken as any implication that I agree with any other specific Eddie Izzard statements.

I've been a big fan of Eddie Izzard for years and i'm very suspicious of his recent claims to be transgender.

I've had it up to the back teeth with all the labelling.....why can't we all just be? Respect our differences, respect each others humanity, allow our children to express themselves however they want and grow into the unique, strong, compassionate adults we all surely want them to be? Sod the boxes, labels, pigeon holing and stereotyping. And sod telling people who they should fancy, how they should dress, how they should feel.

I was born in 1969 and remember the often none too subtle misogyny that was very much part of mainstream culture during the 70s. The misogyny women are facing now from the trans activists is in another league and something I honestly thought (obviously naively) would never happen. I thought we'd evolved I am angry and sickened and hell will freeze over before I am bullied and threatened into accepting their 'truths' which are scientifically incorrect and driven by a nasty, misogynistic agenda.

I've just had a thought - lesbians have been really copping it from the TA's for not wanting to have sex with someone with a penis. What is the TA's stance on a gay man, stating he wouldn't want to have sex with a woman with a vagina? Far fewer FtM than MtF actually transition, so it could arise as an issue. Would that be considered transphobic too?

I saw Owen Jones in action on C4 news one evening, calling a journalist homophobic (another issue) - the journalist wasn't being homophobic and kept trying to say they actually agreed with OJ. So I can easily believe he would fall back on that accusation. Good way of shutting down a discussion isn't it?
