I agree with MrsUnderwood. The vocal Alpha male trans who are using all the alpha male qualities they have have taken over the trans movement to ensure their alpha status is continued but within a 'female' role.

Well if twitter's getting cross, maybe it's a good thing after all that I never got credited or acknowledged for this idea when I posted it on the bullshit thread and then this happened shortly after!

I am saddened that we haven't yet reached the point of breaking down gender barriers so boys and girls, men and women, can't get beyond gender constructs and be who they want without feeling they need to change their sex. Sex is biology, gender is a social construct.

Out of politeness I would address a transwoman or transman by their preferred pronoun to their face but this does not alter my belief that:

A woman with a penis is a man. A man with a vagina is a woman. No amount of external dressing takes away from this. I am a woman because of my sexual organs and my socialization as a woman. A male who has neither female sexual organs nor grown up as a girl cannot be a woman. I can well believe a man who prefers traditionally feminine pursuits might think they'd be better off female but I believe the issue is with societal expectations, not their sex. We should be fighting for a wider acceptance of what is means to be male rather than saying these men are women.

this feels like a MN bubble - it is not an issue I have really engaged with outside MN, but it does feel like the thin edge of the wedge. Thanks again to the wonderful posters on MN for expressing thenselves so eloquently.

I recognise the struggle with identity that some people have. I deny nobody the right to live however they wish, in terms of clothes, relationships, fetishes, gender identity.

However, I do not accept that a person with a penis can tell me what a woman is better than I know myself, and take away my hard won rights from me. I will not be told I am a bigot for doing so.

It is insane we have reached this point. Wake up, world, before women are erased completely.

It was all happening on the thread at that time, and you'd done the Spartacus thing and others had joined it, so starting this thread seemed obvious, but that because we were all on the other thread it was obvious I wasn't nicking the idea...
