I wholeheartedly agree with so much that's written above. I am a woman, not a cis woman. Women do not have penises. I don't object to calling someone by a name they choose but I object very much to the idea that men can choose to identify as women and take over safe spaces.

I agree gender is a social construct and sex is a bilogical fact that can not be changed.

Transgenderism operates as anti-gay eugenics.

Children should never be sterilized in the name of gender, that is evil.

Men can't turn into women, I will call men "he" and women "she".

Women don’t have penises, lesbians don’t want penises.

I am clearly not as well read as many pp's but this much I do know. Men, and only men, have penises. Women do not.

Men do not belong in our safe spaces, they do not get to demand to be housed in women's shelters or to be sent to a woman's prison. They sure as shit do not get to threaten, bully and intimidate women for having the audacity to be born with a vagina.

I'm sad that it's come to this. I believe in treating people decently and with compassion. But the behaviour of some men has brought us here.

Penises shouldn't be in women's prisons, women's shelters, rape crisis centres nor should they be forced onto lesbians.

I won't call someone Bob who wants to be called Jane to their face but I will also not pretend that men are women. Sex is a biological fact. It's how our species exists. Let's stop pretending that gender (oppressive ideology) is more important.

MNHQ, I hope you know that not everyone thinks the same way as those on this thread.

I too find the attitudes shown here to be largely disgusting.

It's not representative of wider MN (and society as a whole).

This isn't snark, I'm genuinely interested. (I assume you have read all the threads pertaining to this issue).

anitmatter - in fact, some babies who are born with indeterminate genitalia are assigned at sex at birth because it isn't clear which they are. They have genetic testing and the parents mostly get to choose which sex to bring their child up as, depending on the biological situation.

Intersex and some of the genetic conditions aren't being covered by everyone on this thread - nor do I think they should be, really, because they are a different case. That's not transphobic either - they have their own biological "difficulties".

This entire thread is terribly frightening. You all sound ridiculous...like dinosaurs.

I've reported it and if MNHQ don't take it down and ban those worst on it, then I shall leave forever and will be happy to be away from a forum which allows such hate filled, ignorant, misinformed BILE to remain.

Where is the bigotry? Where? The countless women who have posted on this thread have explained their position reasonably and without any nastiness or slurs.

Explain to me again why out of Rachel Dolezal and Caitlyn Jenner, one is condemned and the other fawned upon. Only one of them has killed a person by the way, guess which one.

I would LOVE for this post to be highlighted for everyone to see, but since that's not possible, I'm just going to repost it here.

Transwomen are not women and transmen are not men, by any definition, and it is dangerous and damaging to both transwomen and transmen to insist we are respectively women and men.

There is no such thing as a lesbian with a penis. Stating there is, is lesbophobic and homophobic.

I think it's homophobic to say that lesbians should find female penises attractive. Very homophobic and erasing of lesbians.

I would also like to know why it's homophobic, ignorant or hate filled. I wish every single human on the earth human rights. I hope everyone finds their peace. I just don't think people with penises belong in safe female spaces, particularly those spaces women don't choose to be in, like prisons.

I don't know that I have anything more to say that has not already been said, but I think the world has gone mad selling this idea that people can change their sex.

I like to take each individual as I find them, some good, some boring, some interesting, etc. but I am most afraid for the young people who are being made sterile and given unnecessary surgical and hormonal treatments that will have future repercussions on the health on the promise that they will become something that they can never be.

Noone ever backs up their accusations of 'vile, ignorant, hate-filled bigotry'. They just spit out their outrage and disappear. In much the same way that I have never, never, seen anyone who claims 'transwomen are women' give a logical definition of what a woman is.

In fairness I was a bit taken aback by trans/gender critical discussion when I first came across it as all I'd ever heard before was the mainstream media angle and I'd never questioned it. I believed 'born in the wrong body', and would have said if asked 'transwomen are women' (even if deep down I didn't really believe that). Then I started to learn about how damaging and misogynistic it all is and it seems things are just getting worse and worse. I am not a bigot or a transphobe, trans people deserve to be treated with respect like anyone else, and be protected from violence and discrimination. But I will not be gaslighted any longer and I will not accept women's rights being thrown under the bus to accommodate a more fashionable cause.
If you actually read the thread, all fourteen pages of it, and all you can say is 'Bigot!', maybe there's no hope.

If what we are saying is ignorant bigotry, then I assume the posters accusing us of this agree with the following -
ANY man can claim to be a woman (trans).
A lesbian refusing sex with a trans is homophobic.
A man convicted of rape can claim trans status to be placed into a women's prison.
A man claiming trans status can freely enter women's changing rooms, bathrooms, public toilets etc.
A man claiming trans status can freely seek placement in women's refuges.
And in the case of Ada Wells, posters can be banned from MN for referring to 'them' as 'he' but his comments that women are 'cuntscum' are allowed to stand, in addition to his anti Semitism and his hope for "more police to die."
